I made this during the first lockdown. I got it up and running with the arduino. Realised it’s not accurate enough and then went and spen £1500 on a good mount. Followed by a camera, telescope, guiding, filters, dedicated camera etc. this has cost me a fortune. Into a hobby that I really love. Thank you. Keep it up. You inspire people to do more. Well done.
I have a buddy that has a 3D printer and we've been talking about getting a couple printed for us since we have a lot of good dark skies out here in AZ. I really want to get some nicer night sky photos without needing to rely on stacking as much. This will definitely be a cool thing to test out since it's not as expensive as other trackers and looks like it could do just as well or even better.
Im trying to wrap my head around these. you have the barn door will not follow long. Im thinking about a pan and tilt because it is so easy to construct, does not twist so to speak. But this looks...? Do I need to get my focal point centered? hum? I think it would be easier if the world was flat.
Not sure if I can message here but can you export SolidWorks files that are compatible with previous version of solidworks? I cant open your Solidworks CAD files with old version of SolidWorks v2018. Thanks much appreciated.
I have few questions when it will be ready to buy from your shop? Also have question if it will support to wirem release the shutter? Also it will be great if it have gps module or sth. I wanna start astro jurney and this product is perfect... also I love open source project... GREAT JOB!
Is there an outline file / dxf for a solid base? it would be cheaper for me to cut a piece of chipboard or MDF instead of printing the base or buying 2020 extrusion. Thanks for this amazing project
About a kilo or a bit less. For most parts the strength actually doesnt matter that much, i recommend you use your premium filament on the large Ring parts and poles cause those benefit from stronger material. For the others, any material is good
@@openastrotech Thank you for the tip. Fighting a broken printer right now but this will be up soon. Also I'll have some spare stepper motors from the printer to use in the build!
This project has come so far from when I was a bata tester. Crazy

Awesome updates !!
I subscribed the newsletter few month ago, to buy one.
Can't wait for it ^^
Way cool!!! :D Looking forward to building this project! Thanks for sharing!
Amazing project that goes some serious way to removing financial boundaries for people and youngsters alike accessing astronomy. Medals all round
Thanks again for sharing! I'm ready to start calibrating mine tonight hopefully!!! :D Very exciting!!!!!!
This can be used with large telescopes like the celestron 90eq?
You man deserve a lot of respect.
Can't wait to get one of these!
You made it awesome! THX
Fantastic project! Keep it up!😃👍
This is brilliant work
Echt klasse das Gerät. 👍👍👍
Well now I have a new challenge to build!!!

What is the expected weight bearing spec? DSLRs and primaries (esp with cooled cameras) are heavy and large, plus guide scope.
WoooW! SUPER !

check out the reddit sub reddit
Awesome !!! Without the 3d parts, what is the other components, arduino, motor drivers, etc? What parts should I buy?
WOW, now it just needs some rain proofing and this would be neat-O, can we get a demo of it live in use please and some pics from it?
Someday i'll make a video on how to use it, but for now here are some images taken by me and others: www.flickr.com/groups/14697674@N24/pool/
@@openastrotech You should link that more often, very cool I'd add it on the subreddit too

No, but theres CAD files on git. Shouldnt be too hard to adjust it for a CNC
Hi ! I'm wondering if it works with smartphone equipment for astrophotography ? Thanks in advance!
I dont see why not, if you can make a adapter to mount your smartphone. But its probably a bit overkill to make an entire GoTo mount for a smartphone

Approximately how much filament does this use? I'd love to print it with some nice Proto Pasta filament but that stuff is pricey up in CanadaLand. lol

Is this still being supported? The wiki is down.
can you make a printing guide please? i don't have a 3d printer and instructions for the printshop would be nice
make a vid that shows the mount and how long it takes from start to finish
Donde se fabrican quien los vende
Hey, we produce OAT Kits ourselves and sell them here: shop.openastrotech.com/products/openastrotracker-diy-kit
