Man, what is this quality? Its blurry. Make sure you provide "smooth cam" for better / wider recording. And right eye rendering would be cool too.
We have a special spectator mode on our to-do list! These Open Playtests allow us to test several aspects of the game-how you play, how you react in different situations, and how the game functions overall. Please note that not everything is fully implemented yet. As mentioned in our Steam news: "This is a specially designed build, developed for you to test various gameplay mechanics, performance, and compatibility across different headsets. The available level is a modified version from the game, stripped of any story elements. The full release will include a wider variety of enemies, more mechanics, plot-integrated tutorials, and much more."

@@9_lives_vr Okay cool!! I advise you to check "Defector VR" for more features that need to be in a good VR game. Its amazing game from 5 years ago that no game has features yet (except big games like HL:A)
pretty sure this game had a demo years ago that, while showed promise, was quite under cooked and needed a lot of work. Seems like the devs actually listened and put in the work to polish it up, real nice to see.
Check out a very early PCVR game called Seeking Dawn. It was extremely ambitious, very large open world, the graphics were amazing and it was similar. It was an awesome game, but a lot of VR YT'ers at the time clowned on it, so very few people bought it. I still highly recommend it. EDIT: Nvm, I read the game title and got it confused with the new game "Into Black", which is a similar experience haha.
You know what, I'll start working on my game again. Computer Science degree takes a lot of time, but I'll put some hours aside on the weekend to make my dream game.
I do remember seeing this game first introduced some years ago and then it languished and I thought it was dead. So glad to see they didn't give up. This looks sweet!
I'm usually quite critical of VR "new" games, but this one looks incredibly polished and full of cool gamedesign ideas ! Congrats devs ! edit : and I just realized it's in my wishlist for so long I forgot about it haha
Im glad to see this game is still being worked on. I've been looking for a game with destructable enemies like robo recall but plays a bit more freely like bonelab or saints and sinners. Recall is fun, but it's showing its age a bit by only having teleportation without mods
I’ve had this on my wish List for a while and was just looking at it yesterday on Steam. I was wondering why I haven’t heard anything about it from any content creators, so thank you
Looks fun but we've done all this before. When are we getting persistence in VR like base building, owning things, living somewhere? VR allows us to escape to another world but so far it's only brief linear experiences.
2:47 poderia ter uma mecanica de jogo para usar a ferramenta de escalada nos lugares certos para o gelo nao quebrar e você nao cair. Acho que seria legal algo assim
Take a look at "Robo Recall", pretty sure that is where the Idea, or maybe even the system for it comes from, because it seems really identical. Both great games :D
Reminded me of the terminator, when you took the limbs off that one robot, and he still kept coming. Definitely something I want to play. Thanks for showing us the demo GT
There’s no open demo you have to request permission. It says it’s a limited open demo. I don’t know how long it takes for them to approve request . I’m gonna try myself tonight.
Still needs a lot of polish. Most frustrating part was the lack of highlights or notifications to know that you had something positioned properly to stow it.
Looks like a nice game but why everyone is so afraid of making a shooter were you shoot real human enemies instead of zombies/robots/monsters/cartoons... Damn can't wait for gunman contracts
I completely agree. There’s a fantastic PCVR game I’ve tested behind the scenes for a big developer and it was seriously cool. When I played it again recently it was fighting aliens and colourful crap. Developers are scared of upsetting people it would seem
Remember the original RoboRecall was fighting human soldiers. Then they turned them into robots. Meta is afraid of media backlash. But Metro has human enemies and so did Medal of Honor. I can't think of others off the top of my head.
7:10 what the heck, why wasn't this a standard way to attack here or in Alyx? you take your knife (or ninja stars, sawblades, etc..), throw it across the room to kill someone, gravity flick it back towards your hand, catch and repeat. btw the dev wrote "Closed playtests are underway (for our Discord channel members). We also intend to conduct open playtests."... so players who join their discord might get to play more content
Second time this demo has come around and there is still no proper left-handed support (i.e swapping movement and snapturn joysticks). I saw some options regarding controls but they were buggy and didn't seem to work properly. Hopefully this game delivers on launch more than other recent VR releases.
So... would it be too much if I want a VR game to let of some steam and just go full hulk on organic beings instead of robots. Like full rip and tear mentality. Anyway this game clearly shows what VR is capable of and should be the basic minimum of actions available in all VR games.
It’s a small sweet spot so pay attention to haptics. When they rumble you know your hands are in the right place. Also make sure your height is correct.
@@GAMERTAGVR Yeah don't worry I gotcha the game does look cool I was just joking around (as per the /s) bc of your title starting by saying we need more vr like this and then it says the games a demo and in early access lol
Looks okay i guess, im just waiting for a DMZ, grayzone warfare, delta force type of extraction shooter, all these early access projects, not games really do look and play the same, kinda boring, visuals are okay but i can give a crap less about visuals! Ill keep on waiting
@GAMERTAGVR It's not, but I feel like a game with contractors showdown mapsize movement, map denseity of zero caliber 2, into the raidus 2 storage mechanics, with some difficult ai, loot, resources worth gathering, and random extraction zones would be something VR hasn't seen yet, and considering ghost of tabor has been pretty much top 10 best sellers since the games meta launch even though its still broken jank says alot about how much people love the extraction survival shooters.

Meta can metaphorically brick your headsets, any time they want, and for any reason they want, and you will have no defense against it. Conclusion: Think carefully before you BUY anything from Meta; The thing you BUY will not be yours.
The graphics in the game didn't meet my expectations, especially compared to Half-Life Alyx. I found the visuals to be lacking and it didn't leave a good impression on me.
I played this demo just the other day there for about 30-45 minutes before I turned it off and uninstalled it, loooooooong way to go before it's anywhere near acceptably playable or worth spending money on.
l didn't even finish the tutorial. the idea that your torso turns with your head is so annoying in every VR game that is not how you body works in real life. you have to turn your head a lot before your upper torso and shoulders starts turning in real life....and it was impossible to put the axes on you lower back for some reason, sitting down playing. so l gave up after 8 min.
