Kevin....I have had psoriatic arthritis for 33 years. I understand the pain and suffering. It is discouraging and debilitating. The combination of psoriatic arthritis and the tick bite is very painful. We will pray for you. Father our brother Kevin is your child who has been an example of your kingdom. He has been a faithful servant sharing his life and live for you with others. He is in pain and full of sickness. We ask for your complete healing, relief of pain, and a renewal of his immunity. We believe you will heal him completely. In the name above all names Jesus we pray Amen.

Yep, I predicted what you have before you even said it Because I contracted rocky mountain spotted tick fever and for a month, three different hospital visits, and I really did not think I was truly going to survive. That's how bad it was. I recovered by the grace of God. It is definitely not something to take lightly. Praying for you

I am very glad your doctor figured out what was going on with you. When I was a child in grade school in Idaho, I remember a young male classmate walking up to our teacher to say he was not feeling well. Then he passed out and collapsed on the floor. Turns out that he had been bit by a tick. He was out of school for more than a week with Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. Mean stuff. God bless you both.

You have to weigh out the cons with those guineas, as well as the pros. In my experience with them, the cons outweigh the pros, so I will never have them again. A lot of folks agree with me on that, but each and everyone must come to their own conclusions. The #1 con for me was the noise they make... you think a peacock is loud?

Tick borne illnesses are no joke. I had Rocky Mountain spotted fever in 2016, and the pain was excruciating. Particularly in my hands and forearms. I felt like I had been beaten with hammers. I also had severe exhaustion and brain fog. Now, all these years later, I am certain I have some sort of undiagnosed autoimmune disease from it. If I don’t consistently eat low carb, the joint pain and other things come right back. I hope you have a complete recovery!

We found that tri tech flyspray worked on keeping ticks off us while out riding in the forest. We sprayed top of our hats, our boots, covered our horses from tip of ears, manes, tails, to literally their hooves. Never got ticks on us or horses. Yet our friends would find dozens on themselves, their horses and some brought them to the ranch. Ranch was sprayed by agriculture department after a friend was quarantined along with his entire barn of horses. Maybe your county ag could help you out too.

What's really sneaky is some of those tick diseases can be spread by the larval ticks, which are tiny tiny and very hard to see or recognize. So people can have horrible symptoms and have no clue they were bitten by a nearly invisible form of tick.

Hello!!!❤❤ I wanted to say THANK YOU! I had been feeling really bad. The top of my feet hurt, and my hand joints and arms have been aching so bad I wake up crying. I have an autoimmune Illness,(PMR) I thought I was having a flareup, so I went to my rheumatologist, and all my blood was fine. This morning, not only did my mother send me your video, because I was telling her my symptoms, I watched it. I was able to get into my local clinic, and my d Dr. has me on the same medication you got put on! I’m a neighbor of yours in Webster County, I’ve ran into you two a couple of times, and visited a bit. I do have a tick bite on my back that was extremely red, and I just kept putting medicine on it and didn’t think anything about it. But your video made me think twice.! again thank you so much!

I understand the pain it's like every cell is swollen to capacity and aches with a bruised tenderness til it decides to stop. I just remind myself this is only temporary and thank the Lord that I am never alone. You take your rest because that is rejuvenating to the body. Ticks and skeeters won't bite thru oil or vaseline I seal my skin with suntan oil or vaseline and even put oil on scalp when I'm outside so far good results and no cracking of skin is always good.🌼

My husband and I were both diagnosed with Alpha Gal Syndrome a couple years ago. My main symptom was severe GI pain (with other side effects including extreme fatigue, brain fog, constant diarrhea, and several unexplained bouts of hives), but after my diagnosis and a lot of research, I learned that it can cause any inflammation in the body to become much worse- like arthritis in joints. My husband had severe joint pain that had gotten so bad he couldn't lift a glass of water off the table in front of him. His doctor had referred him to a specialist to get surgery on his shoulder, until I had him go back to his regular doctor and get the blood test for Alpha Gal. Sure as the sun is in the sky, he was positive. Once he completely changed his diet with me, his joint pain went back to a manageable level and he can fully function WITHOUT surgery! My Gyno wanted me to have surgery for pelvic congestion syndrome- but after changing my diet and avoiding all mammal meats, dairy and other by-products, I was able to cancel my next appointment with the vein specialist. I may still have pelvic congestion syndrome, but the symptoms of it have dang near gone away completely. Oh, and my anxiety level has dropped tremendously, because I'm no longer constantly wondering when I'm going to have a bout of pain that would make any normal person rush to the ER. AGS is a life changer, but at the same time, we are both eating much healthier and feeling better than we have in a long time!

@@kcfamilyfarm939 I was tested for Alpha Gal, which I had never heard of until the allergist tested me for every thing. Since moving, 12 years ago to Oklahoma, I have all kinds of allergies. After testing, I've found out I'm extremely allergic to penicillian, egg whites, steroids (found out after taking steroids), shell fish, all kinds of outdoor stuff (here where I live) which in turn affects my sinus' severely. On top of dairy and sulfate allergies I carry epi pens with me at all times. I'm taking 5 different meds for my sinus'. Got the Alpha Gal results back, they were negative. Since we live in the country, on 20 acres, and have tons of wildlife. I need to spray myself with natural oils or deet (a prevenrative) for ticks. When working outside, or feeding the animals, I check my clothing before going in the house. I also take my clothes off, do a mirror check, and have my husband check me for ticks, and take a hot shower. So far with spraying myself with geranium oil (mixed with water) the ticks have left me alone.
I'm sorry to hear you, and your husband have Alpha Gal. I'm happy you're addressing the issue, and have changed your diet which has helped. Inflammation is a hard thing to deal with when dealing with injuries and pain. You're right about changing your diet. By doing this it can resolve many issues. Good luck, and thank you for responding to me.

We live in Kansas city but my daughter got the bull's eye rash from a tick bite when she went to summer camp. This was in 2002, the pediatrician did not want to prescribe antibiotics because he insisted the ticks in Missouri don't carry erlichiosis. I insisted that he prescribe it, and he finally did. I am glad I stood my grounds. I later learned that tick disease has no boundaries, deers move across state lines therefor it is best to be aware of ticks and the possible risks.

You are the second homesteader that I watch that has got a tick bite and become really sick this summer. It’s impossible to avoid ticks if you’re outside. We have lots here in Kentucky and I’ve been bit several times. Prayers you recover completely and that your Mom and Dad are well soon. Be safe.

As homesteaders ourselves, we also went for the longest time thinking nothing of it when we pulled ticks off ourselves. Two years ago my husband and I both were diagnosed with Alpha Gal Syndrome from tick bites. It made us allergic to all mammal meats and mammal by-products. It turned out lives upside down- I was milking dairy goats every day, we had a large number of meat rabbits, and we were raising several lambs up to put in the freezer for the first time. I sold ALL of our mammal livestock animals. It SUCKED. but we have expanded our poultry to include ducks, Muscovy ducks, quail and geese (we already had chickens and turkeys). But on the bright side, I've learned so many new recipes and ways to cook poultry and fish that it actually expanded our diet to more flavor profiles and we eat a lot healthier (no junk off grocery store shelves because so many of them include some kind of mammal by-products like dairy, gelatin, magnesium stearate, etc). But the transition is HARD for anyone.

There is a way to suppress the Alpha Gal syndrome. I’ve done it. Many people have. It has about a 98% success rate. I (and others) can now eat anything, take any med even ones in gelatin capsules, etc. Back to a normal allergy-free life. Investigate SAAT
SAAT is Life Changing as it reprograms your immune system to stop reacting to allergens.

barbarayorkwoodside3716 - How true regarding stress. Farming can sound so bucolic and peaceful however, when farming is your livlihood, stress can be a factor. We are currently fretting over New Hampshire rain. We need to hay. It is too wet and looks like rain through the week. Our customers depend on us, in addition to the hay we provide our Hereford herd. We enjoy living in the countryside, EXCEPT for the ticks. I do not understand why a human vaccine is not available by now. There was one a while ago and it was taken off the market. NH is a hot bed for Lyme disease. I would be first in line for the shot! ~ Diane

I had RMSF - I too have psoriasis and eczema and some times my stomach 'acts up' ...when I finally went to doc is was because I felt I had some kind of strange flu with low grade fever and tired all the time (I had a bunch of ticks from being out in the woods but didn't remember any of them with 'bullseye' and didn't put 2 + 2 together )... Doc spotted the rash on my arms and asked about my legs (showed him) and he put me on doxy for 20 days .... I felt like a new person after about 3 days! Pray you all recover quickly!

From this it has caused him not to to be able to eat ANY kind of beef or pork products and some types of seafood also cause a reaction. If he does eat them, even a small amout, he will break out with burning hives all over his skin and will be in intense pain for hours and hours. I so hate this has happened to you. Dr. Ken Berry has 800+ videos on TH-cam and has talked about alpha gal and the good news is it's not usually permanent. I think he said most people tend to have to adjust their diet for a year to 18 months whike their system heals and then can often reintroduce the red meats, etc.!

They told me I have osteoporosis to thank for the fracture. Its mind blowing. Im in a back brace and it might be weeks til a surgeon can help me. I feel your pain and frustration as its prime time to gather food, and its nearly impossible because of the pain. This morning it felt like more bones broke. If not for pain killers you'd hear my screams in Missouri. Prayers to all of your family for quick healing. God Bless.
