was very confused when I saw that you were watching a video with ONEWE in it, but it makes sense as part of a ONEUS marathon 🤣 ONEWE is a band that technically predates ONEUS, as they were active as MAS 0094 from 2015 to 2018 (and they still have the exact same members as when they first started). in the live performance, the bassist/rapper, drummer, and guitarist (Giuk, Harin, Kanghyun) are all ONEWE members. at 5:51 is their lead vocalist, Yonghoon, and at 7:22 is their keyboardist/vocalist Dongmyeong (he's also the fraternal twin of the guy in red, the term "brother groups" is a bit more literal for WEUS than most lol). they're still plenty active, with a mini album earlier this year and a digital single just last week. I'd love to see you dive into them, but there's not exactly choreography to go over with them lol (unless you reeeally wanna see them cover "Heartbeat" by 2PM!)
Onewe is a band. A very good one. That was Younghoon leader of Onewe an incredible singer . Xion (Oneus) and Dongmyeong (Onewe ‘s keyboardist and vocalist) are fraternal twins. Giuk the youngest is considered a genius - rapper, bassist. Kanghyun one of the best guitarists in kbands. Last but not least is Drummer Harin, who keeps every one together. Check them out. Oneus has no leader 😂
ONEWE are a band (with instruments), they have incredible music! This song does very little to showcase their talents even back then imo, you should definitely give their music a listen. They have 5 members: guitarist Kanghyun, drummer Harin, bassist/rapper Giuk + the two members with the hand mics in the front leader/main vocal/guitarist Yonghoon and pianist/vocalist Dongmyeong (whose twin brother Xion (real name Dongju) is in ONEUS). They just had a comeback with their summer digital single album Off Road last week.
ONEWE (formerly MAS 0094) are self-formed, self-produced and debuted as a band before ONEUS was even formed, but after they signed with RBW the company changed their name to give them and their new boygroup matching names. They re-debuted as ONEWE in 2019 alongside ONEUS but still as separate groups (similar to 2AM and 2PM yes, but ONEWE and ONEUS were never one group). This collab was pre-debut.
ONEWE aren't a dance group but they did learn to dance on survival shows before their re-debut, hence them being able to join the choreo here. ONEWE Dongmyeong was on Produce 101 Season 2 (with some ONEUS members) and all of ONEWE competed on The Unit where Dongmyeong actually made it all the way to the finals almost debuting in the group. They still do some dance challenges now, Dongmyeong has occasionally danced in their concerts and as a musical actor, and Yonghoon danced at an army festival alongside other idols during his military service, but they just do it for fun or to challenge themselves. Their main passion is their band and they are exceptional at it.
Actually this is a predebut song for both groups before oficially debut (Oneus) and re-debut (Onewe). They did this song to close the busking and concerts that they did for some time before they announced their debut dates.
And Oneus don't have a leader!
Thanks for this reaction! I love both groups and I love seeing them perform together, since they are close. However, as a first introduction to the groups, their collabs are probably not the best option; as a band, ONEWE aren't able to showcase their musical artistry very well, and as a dancing group, ONEUS aren't able to showcase their beautiful storytelling that I love about their performances. Valkyrie is often considered ONEUS' official debut, and I think that would have allowed you to dig into their dancing better. (and if you happen to be interested in bands, I'd recommend checking out ONEWE's song Montage_ or Universe_). btw, ONEUS don't have an official leader, but the guy you kept pointing out (Hwanwoong) does often lead their introduction I think, so maybe that's why you clocked him as the leader?
ONEWE is a band in the more traditional musical instruments sense. They don’t really dance so that may be why the choreo is quite simple here.
The singers with hand-held mics are the vocalists, Yonghoon and Dongmyeong (Xion’s twins). The rest of the members are playing the instruments (Harin on the drum, Giuk on the bass, Kanghyun on the guitar).
That being said, they have a burning passion for dancing. I recommend looking at ONEWE’s Heartbeat dance cover that they practiced a whole day for lol
For actual music recommendations, I love the songs AuRoRa, Meteor Shower, Regulus and Parting. ONEWE’s song writing is great and the members are able to show a lot more of their actual expertise.
