Amazing work as always. The amount of information you cram into 10 minutes, while keeping it easy to understand is a true testament. Can't wait til next video!
If only other game companies contacted you two and sponsored you to make some more awesome stuff, that would be great :D I'm loving these Skyrim videos. Btw, thanks for your books in the Humble Bundle.
You Bill and Brittany are just amazing. Truly! Your work and your quality of your videos are just amazing, so inspiring. You have developed so well with being able to be more artistic, pedagogic and more challenging in your projects. That is a respond to all all material on your channel, since I never comment anything (sorry). I feel so inspired and so connected to this forum of prop-making and cosplaying, even tough I'm just a beginner in the are, but it's is very much connected to my interest in art and craft work that have deep roots in my life. I'm a educated fashion-designer, and have a high education in conservatory technics in furniture in Swedish university. This isn't much of a critique, and even more, not much of a well explained grammatical argument, but what I in clear sentences would like to say to you, Brittany and your followers are my true appreciation of your channel. I really love how you make even us, that are over-worked true artists and craters, feel enjoy of the fantasy-world, the strong satisfaction of a achievement of a difficult costume, learning a new sewing-method or other crafts-method that we never dreamed f to master. You are both some truly admirable persons, and I just ant you tell you this, that you make a very important difference in us that struggle between the line of being professional and creative/nerdy. Thankyou, your sincerecly /Fröken S.from Sweden (sorry fot the miss-spelling, please correct me.)
This is awesome, I was making some Iron Banded Armor, I think I am going to switch gears now though. I hope that I get to see how to attach everything soon!
i just started making props this year i want to thank you guys. your videos and tutorials have been inspirational and entertaining thanks again bill and brit !!!!
So glad these templates are free and this mini series exists, Ive been wanting to do a skyrim cosplay recently, and then remembered you guys did exactly what I need
I don't know how to add a picture or message you, but thank you!!! My 13 year old daughter started wishing for a Dovahkiin costume 2 years ago. Thanks to you guys, I was able to create the costume she's been wanting!! Thank you so much!
Grr, none of the recent videos have been showing up in my sub feed. Partnering with a game company to replicate props and provide free blueprints and tutorials is such an awesome concept.
Thank you so much. I have been trying to figure out how to make this armor for so long. My blue prints never really worked out for the shoulder pieces thank you so much!
You say texture to describe two things... Texture for meat tenderizer texture and texture for hot glue velcro/webbing. "score and heat gun to add more surface area..." Thanks for all your videos!!!
Your're videos are the Highlights of the day. I've just wondered how well can you mill EVA foam with the CNC mill. and how does it behave with a laser cutter.
if i may suggest a small idea challenge. With transparent filament coming out, you might be able to do the ES glass armor or weapons fairly easy. it's something I've been thinking of with some of my ideas.
You should do a tokusatsu hero tutorial as well. I've been watching Tokusatsu Film School videos and really can't get enough, so it'd be cool to see your take on the genre.
Yes! Now I can remake my own steel armor :'D It was made put of camping mattress that was bright orange, duct tape and no primer at all so the paint chipped away at the con so I had to ditch it xD Also broke my orcish great sword, for it was made out of the same camping mattress, more duct tape, some aluminium tape, wood putty and acrylic paint, and I leaned on it :'D Thanks to you and your awesome videos and tutorials, I can finally redeem my honour!
Planning on using this design, only for a Shredder cosplay rather than for Skyrim. I'm really looking forward to putting my own creative spin on some of the design elements to bring something unique to light. Maybe a little ambitious for my first foam build, but I'm really looking forward to the challenge!
I Know that right now you are making a lot of props from Skyrim, however I think it would be really awesome if you made Ana's sniper from Overwatch. Also I think it would be awesome if you were able to mimic the mechanical/ clickey priming noise it has.
Don't have EVA foam but I'm paper macheing a crusader helmet. I just plastered it and I'm about to sand. You guys gave me that extra push to get crafty.
Bill, any thoughts on adjusting the chest piece to fit the female form? My daughter loves Skyrim and would love this for a Halloween costume. thanks in advance. keep up the great work and inspiration.
Sorry it was made for me, so we didn't figure out a female template. You'll have to do a bit of trial and error to modify it for her. Having a torso casting can be really helpful for that: th-cam.com/video/Rr0kHEKGxFA/w-d-xo.html
Hi Bill great work as usual this gave me some great tips for working on my foam Colonial Marine armour from Aliens of home now to cut up some more floor matts. Woohoo all inspired 😃
You guys should make like a historically inspired set of fantasy armor, I know it's like the most daunting task but that just sounds like it'd be awesome, even if it was only a couple pieces
Hey Bill Once again TY and Britt for being amazing and sharing your Skills and Knowledge to Grow this community. I have a question What type Of Grip/handle do you use on your dremel it seems to be touch sensitive and I would like to add that to my toolkit.
Hey Bill, for all the little squiggly bits, would using something like a hot knife make things go any faster if you've got a reasonably steady hand? I was wondering because the foam is so thin that you'd risk melting if you stayed in one spot too long (kind of like with a wood burner, although you could always consider that battle damage I suppose), but with a variable heat knife it might give it just a little extra ease at a lower temperature.
Hi Bill, thanks for this video. Can I ask please what size is the largest setting covering in this video ? I'm significantly bigger than yourself, trying your pattern on the biggest girth in paper my Mrs thinks I need about 4 more inches. So I'm trying to work out how much bigger I need to print the pattern ?
Pattern! Pattern pattern pattern! Thank you so much! I was just about to look for pauldron patterns, I will take resizing it for myself and anyone else I make this for. And by this I mean taking the base pattern and making my own armor. Unless my spouse wants Skyrim looking armor, his choice
I have love your tutorials and the creativity, but I have a question because I wanna make smooth shoulder pads and chest plates. They are somewhat connected and move with the actually shoulders, how would I pull this off?
I'm sure you've answered this hundreds of times, but until I find the video that has the answer, do you have a reliable source and preference for thick I textured foam. I have tons of floor mats, and small ish craft foam, but I'd like a more uniform finish on both sides of the foam. Lots of sites advertise it, but with you skill, and expertise, I was hoping you had a tried and true go to source for large amounts of untextured foam for cosplay.
I used to be a cosplayer like you... Then I realized that meme is pretty old. Any suggestions on getting those bevels and trenches right? I have a really hard time getting the bevels consistent, and I can never figure out how deep/wide to make the trenches. Thanks!
Elfie Campbell whilst on print preview there's a few settings (such as b&w or color, page orientation, front and back printing) and "scale" is one of them. It's defaulted at 100% so all you have to do is type whatever percent you'd like. In my case, that'd be 91% (: (I use mac so I'm not entirely sure how it would be on another computer!)
Hi Bill, I have an idea for new video. Or maybe you already made it. I am a hobbyist photographer, mostly portrait & beauty shots, in studio. I want to build female warrior armor that can be adjusted for any models I am gonna photograph. It could be around 1-2 inches height difference between models and my concern is the chest circumference which vary more than the height, some models more skinny, some more beefy. So any tips to make adjustable body armor. I am thinking of using laces, extended velcro, etc. Thanks
+nixland I think that's a cool idea. I can't promise I'll be able to make a video on that, but I will consider putting features like that into one of our upcoming costume projects.
Could you use that fancy notch thing (for your registry marks on your patterns) to cut out the notches on your screw heads, or would it dull it too much and ruin the tool?
Any estimates on how many floormats you used? Also any tips on how to get that front chest piece to have a big more of a compound curve(like a real cuirass)
It's been so long I honestly don't remember! Always buy double what you think you need so you have room for mistakes! You can heat shape the front more to add more of a curve and add little struts to support it!

I figured as much; but just wanted to check with you first to see if you remembered how many you used. I just found you through your boba Fett/ Mando helmet build. I put together a Pauldron based on you other skyrim build.
THANKS SO MUCH GUYS!!! I'M CURRENTLY MAKING A SKYRIM COSPLAY RIGHT NOW AND THIS REALLY HELPS!!! YOU'RE THE BEST MAN
Amazing work as always. The amount of information you cram into 10 minutes, while keeping it easy to understand is a true testament. Can't wait til next video!
Looks awesome, Skyrim is the game that brought me into gaming, and I must say seeing this makes me nostalgic keep up this amazing series I love it
Nice tutorial - beautiful work. I have found using the “ gray” sharpie works well - easier to see and covers with paint /primer without issue.
Thanks for watching!

By far, the most artistically creative build I've seen in quite a while.
Thank you so much!

Sorry I haven't played that game. =(
Nonono, it isn't a game. It's a television genre. Think Super Sentai/Power Rangers, Ultraman, Kamen Rider, etc.
Ahh gotcha. Yeah I'm not into those types of shows either, sorry! =(

Did I miss the Part 2 and Part 3 videos??? Impatiently waiting!!! lol
I would love to see you guys design and build a really great Star Trek BORG costume. I bet you would do a killer job.
Thanks for this video and the patterns. Working on a project of my own and this helped get my designs out of my head and onto paper.
You're most welcome! When you finish your awesome project, we'd love to see it! Share it with us on Twitter: twitter.com/chinbeard
Awesome job Bill. Going to make my own. One question, when printing the templates out what size of paper did you use?

thank you so much for this it will definitely be my first full foam armour build
thanks for this it will help when i go to making legion heavy armour
Heard "free blueprints" and I got reeeeal excited
Would love to see you tackle the EVA suit from The Martian, Bill!
That's an extremely complex suit to make. Too detailed, not saying he doesn't have the skill but it'd cost a ton and be a lot of work

great job! you're very talented, wish my hands were steady enough to cut smooth lines for the important parts of this build haha
Are these files just to be printed on standard printing paper to then transfer to foam?
Can you do a video on the ebonscale armor and its suit? The texture of the suit is throwing me off.
u could turn the nerf rapid strike into looking like soldier 76's pulse rifle if u 3d printed some parts (barrel extension and stock add-on)
Hey Bill Once again TY and Britt for being amazing and sharing your Skills and Knowledge to Grow this community. I have a question What type Of Grip/handle do you use on your dremel it seems to be touch sensitive and I would like to add that to my toolkit.

Hey I'm building this and I just wanna know-how do you attatch the pauldrons to the chest?
For anyone else interested in building this set, I'm 5'6 and on the skinner side, and found that scaling it to 91% was the perfect fit!
This is good advice, thank you!
Kirsten Houten is there a program you used to scale it?
Elfie Campbell whilst on print preview there's a few settings (such as b&w or color, page orientation, front and back printing) and "scale" is one of them. Kirsten Houten Your directions were perfect, thank you!!
Kirsten, did you modify the chest piece for the "lady parts"? if so how?
I wish I could make this in time for Halloween!
I have a question: Have you ever used servos in your armor?
hi. what other type of glue can i use for eva foam, i live in eastern europe and we dont have barge glue in hobby shop
Hi Bill, I have an idea for new video. Or maybe you already made it.
I am a hobbyist photographer, mostly portrait & beauty shots, in studio.

+Punished Props Thanks Bill.
love the video, but I'm having trouble building greaves and boots, are there any specific types of boots you would recommend for that?
Punished Props great idea, thanks!
i still wonder, why he sometimes uses hot glue except of barge? is ist better for offsets?
Would this be sturdy enough for a larp?
Punished props I have a drawing channel do you think if I drew a weapon like jazza could you make it??
About how many EVA mats went into this armor, not including helmet?
Could you use that fancy notch thing (for your registry marks on your patterns) to cut out the notches on your screw heads, or would it dull it too much and ruin the tool?
That just might work!
Punished Props Academy cool!
Where do I go to buy the foam? Would a fabric/craft store sell it? The links in the description aren't working
Is there a shop? because some people (including me) Don't like to mess up or know how , even with tutorial, and would rather buy?
I should've watched this before doing my pauldron. God damn it this is so simple!
Thanks for the tutorial PP, I just wanted to ask where you got the template for the ancient nord armor you made on your website.
How many sheets of EVA floor mats does this build take?
Holy crap didn't expect this I was like his is just gonna show how to make props
Hey Bill and Brit. I was looking at TNT cosplay supply and their prices are reasonable, but I was wondering how much the charge for shipping. Do you have any idea of the weight of the package of 1 sheet of 6mm foam? I can figure out cost from there but they don't seem to have it listed. Thanks.
I don't exactly remember, sorry.
Can you do Tsun's Armor and his battle axe
Almost Halloween might as well make some armor
I ended up buying a large roll of anti fatigue foam floor mat, but I'm not sure if it will be good for this
Punished Props the only problem is I'm not sure if the foam is thick enough and its rolled up, so I have to somehow flatten it. Any tips?
Heyho
I've got quite a strange question: what are these metal blocks with the holes in it called you used to hold the paper templates in place? I've been searching for them for quite a while but nobody could tell me where to find them... Can you help me?
123 blocks. They're mostly used for metalwork. I guess he just has them laying around and likes to use them for holding down stuff.
Why do you use Hot Glue for the Velcro instead of Contact Cement?
Hi templates are not available hope u can do anything for me
I had a similar issue but I found if I copy the URL, open a new tab then paste it, it then downloads it. hope that helps!
I will be trying to make this project and will also try to modified the design and make new armor... thanks BRO!.... ^_^
I bought your book its awesome but i dont know if ive read far enough into it or if i have a bad memory but how would i connect armor to a full body suit/ morph suit?
I like using either Velcro or sew on snaps.
What's the exact cutter you're using in this video? It doesn't look like the ones in your Amazon link and I can't keep a steady hand with the larger cutters.
Thank you so much! Love your work and how willing you are to help others :D
How many floor mats did it take to make the armor? I’ve got a set on my shopping list through amazon; but was wondering if I’d need a second set?
I honestly can't remember at this point, but it's always safe to over-order. You'll have materials for future projects!
I figured as much; but just wanted to check with you first to see if you remembered how many you used. I just found you through your boba Fett/ Mando helmet build. I put together a Pauldron based on you other skyrim build.
