Quick note: What you see in this video is a scroll saw--not a "band saw." Not sure what I was thinking there! Thanks for watching!

WONDERFUL.. Thank you for sharing.. I've just recently got hooked and got wood carving tools from the kids for me to whittle stuff for the grand kids.. It will take me time to get my wrists strengthened like yours in order to have vice grip hands :) God Bless you 👍👍😊✨

Good video. Where do you find the patterns for your wood carving projects.

Awesome! Those bandsaws make quick work, that's for sure.

When making a blank with Basswood: if you are making something like a horse. How should align the image to to grain? Legs with the grain or the body with the grain? Or does it not matter with Basswood? Thanks!

This is PERFECT! I never traced the front part for the face and front legs, I always ‘eye-balled’ it and it was so uneven.
Quick question: Do you have techniques that will soften Basswood? Mine is as hard as plastic.
    Thanks in advance. 👽

Great to hear the video helped! I used to do the same, actually.
As far as softening goes, my best advice is to:
      1. Use VERY sharp knives (of course--video coming soon!)
      2. Spray the wood with a 50/50 mixture of water and isopropyl alcohol (while carving)
      3. As a last resort, you can soak the wood for a few hours. This isn't a great way, though, in my opinion. Ironically, it makes the wood almost too pliable and can dry unpredictably.
I did make a video on just this subject, I hope it helps as well! th-cam.com/video/_8G9RliBXVk/w-d-xo.html
Also, I really appreciate your support!

What you call a bandsaw I've always called a scroll saw.

In my first work I always used Woodglut plans.

That was a scroll saw. Not a band saw 🤦‍♀️
