I agree 100 percent on using saw to clean up defects and rot. Bad falling practices. But trimming every butt to me is counter productive and extra time and wear and tear on the bar and chain. Quality is required of course but at the end of the day you still have to produce. The machine I run that option is broken and it very frustrating to waste time trimming everything
The first cut is for many reasons, such as removing butt flares or end defects and damage possibly caused by rough cuts from the buncher. After wood sits or has been dragged by the skidder the ends can become dirty or weathered which can hide rot, by making the first cut it can reveal that rot so you can chase it up to remove it if needed. Not every log requires the cut and find end can be utilized but its good practice to take a small cookie off to ensure quality of the wood in most applications.
@@FDRLogging y'all sitting here on like 5k PCs cutting like it the easiest thing in the world while I'm sitting here taking half an hour to load a trailer on my PlayStation. Also plz make all of you mods for console if possible

Love tree huggers, used to be a logger. But only had this on the landing. Been playing alot of the FDR mods tho. I need like big tree's width wise.
This video makes me miss my old TigerCat/SouthStar combo 😅 they are wicked machines 🤙 is that all random length pulp? If so thats creamy work lol
Great video thanks for sharing it with us. Be careful and stay safe.
Game is amazing and great work you can definitely tell you have some experience 👍
If they have a find end senor? Why wouldn't you use it to save thousands of cuts a day? Makes no sense
