I've read Dune, Dune Messiah and Children of Dune multiple times since I've been 13. I'm in my mid 50's. I usually alternate every other year with LOTR.
@@BenjaminsBookclub I mean, I guess you could if you lower your standards for what a 5 star is. Kind of like when a wine drinker decides boxed wine is perfect.
And thanks for starting the channel! It's been a lot of fun. Best book: Inverted World (Priest) Need to Read New Release: Mercy of Gods (Corey) Most Disappointing: Cat Craddle (Vonnegut) Biggest Surpise: Core of the Sun (Sinisalo)
I have not read any of those! I just looked up The Inverted World and it sounds so cool, I have added it to my wishlist and i'll keep an eye out for it in thrift stores!
Yeah I usually like waiting until a series is finished before getting started, I hate the idea of waiting years, or possibly forever, for the ending. I was okay with this one as the first three books are a pretty tight trilogy, with the other books kind of being a second series I think. Thanks so much for watching!
Thanks for ANOTHER shout out Benjamin! I haven’t been able to make a video in weeks since my wife and I just recently had our first baby, but if I do manage to carve out some time I think this would be a great video back. Also I will totally bully you until you read The Wheel of Time
So glad you are having a great year so far! Was hoping to see more horror on your list! 😂Oh well, I hope the rest of your year is as fantastic. Digger Dan is cool!
DiggerDan is very cool! Yeah between my fantasy reading challenge, and just being in the mood for more sci fi, I haven't read as much Horror as usual so far this year, but I do have a few on my shelf that have been calling to me for a long time. N0S4A2 chief amongst them.
I do agree with you on the Bobiverse books or at least the first one. I had it as an audiobook and it was just plain boring. The fact that we agree on that makes me more interested in the ghost station book which will be released in january in my country. Love some good sci-fi horror :)
Do you recommend the first S. A. Barnes' book (Dead Silence)? I have heard mixed reviews about it (great beginning and uninteresting ending after catastrophic plot-twists).
I hate to be that guy but book one of Mistborn is called The Final Empire 😬 Also your favourite character from that series is one of the worst written characters I’ve ever read, and I love the series, sorry 😅 Still love your opinions 🫡
Yeah, the latest covers have mostly dropped The final Empire title in favour of just Mistborn, I think it was in an interview Sanderson said the publisher worried that people would get confused about it being the first book with the word, Final in the title. Either way ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ We've all got different opinions I suppose haha :) Thanks for watching :)
@@BenjaminsBookclub Wow, did not know that 😮. I can see it meets the growing trend I suppose. Makes me think of Red Rising, King of Scars or Outlander in that way.
@@bigaldoesbooktube1097 Yeah, I think people were just calling it Mistborn, then quickly adding, Book 1 or The Final Empire after it, so I suppose it makes sense, but I agree that The Final Empire is a better title for the book.
it's so interesting to hear other people's opinions bc i, like benjamin, also LOVED sazed and i think he might have been my favorite character in the first two books as well (i haven'r read the last one yet) like i loved learning more about his/the general terrsiman/feruchemy lore! so it's interesting to hear that he really didn't land the same way for other people hehe
Thanks for shouting me out. 😊Sounds like you are having a great reading year so far.☺
Yeah its been fantastic :) Thanks for tagging me!!
What a 1/2 year! Quit while you’re ahead jk 😂
Sazed is the best
Good plan, the rest of the year is just WoW, FFXIV and Cooking content on the channel, Can't risk bringing down the average :D
Yessssss Golden Son is the bomb, and glad you enjoyed Well of Ascension. Fun tag vid!
It was so good! Thanks so much for watching!

I adored the first three Dune books, I bounced off God Emperor, I think I need to re-read it and try again. Have you read Heretics?

Sensitive sausage 😂 Looks like a great start to the year!
Its been a bloody brilliant start to the year! Thanks for watching!
Congrats to hit that many great reads! Sixteen 5 stars? That is fantastic.
Thanks! Yeah it has been an amazing year, one I'm not sure I could ever repeat again ha!

Nice, I really need to get into Red rising saga some time! Propably will get the whole series when it's finished.

Do add A Maze of Death, by PKD, and Bad Brains, by Kathe Koja, to your TBR.

Yeah, I thought it had already released, but I guess it's just the Audiobook that's out, explains why I haven't been able to find a copy I suppose.
