Leafblower ordinance among new 2025 laws

The new year's new laws will affect everything from driving to health care coverage in Maryland. Some Annapolis residents are rejoicing over a specific set of new municipal laws taking effect to catch up with surrounding counties: A plastic bag ban that takes effect on Jan. 22. Also in Annapolis, critics won an argument that gas leaf blowers are loud and bad for the environment. Now, their use will be banned in the Annapolis effective Wednesday.
