Thank you very much for the review! It’s been tough finding good information on the non supercharged FX machines. Found a 2017 Cruiser HO with 7 hours on it, you sold me haha
Thank you, I was just thinking about my jet ski today. I don't have it anymore but I sure miss it. It was a great machine and I'd buy the same exact one again.
Great review! Are they still going strong and been reliable? Im looking at two used 2018's just like yours that has about 70hrs.....have you had any issues? Is the hull on the 2018 fiberglass or the plastic type?
Hi Stephen, thank you for the nice comments, I actually sold my ski last year just because it wasn’t getting used as much as my boa and I wanted to put the money toward a tractor. 70 hours is nothing, mine was flawless the entire time I owned it, my biggest complaint about the 2018’s is the paint job, it’s very sensitive, other than that mechanically you can’t go wrong in my opinion. Yea, they are fiberglass. I sold my ski for more than I paid for it in 2018 brand new, which is partly because of the crazy supply chain issues last year, but also a testament to their quality and reliability. My lake friends have two 2017’s, same model no issues.
@@TNYankee2020 yeah I have been reading up at how the hull paint is easy to crack. We will be driving ours up onto a port dock, so not sure how good that's going to be for the hull paint. I hear once the paint goes, water works it's way into the fiber and eventually causes delamination so it's important to repaint it when it starts cracking up.....pita. But it looks like every ski has its issues. They really do hold their value real good so that's a good thing!
Never had an issue with the hull paint. I never beached it, but I’ve parked it on a floating dock for two years and then on bunk lift for two years, the paint issues I’m talking about are all the superficial bumper paint
@@TNYankee2020 thanks good to know! Apparently a lot of them have issues with the hull flexing and the paint getting cracked up....but I couldn't find much info about what years that's a issue.....sounds like 2018 might be better! Thanks man! Appreciate you taking the time!
Great review, I’ve looking into getting a Yamaha jet ski and this helped answer some of my questions. How bad is the supercharged on mpg compared to yours?
Thanks, If I had to guess, 25% worse. I could do an 80 mile trip and my buddy only 60 or so. Just sold it last month, I'll miss it, it was a great ski sold it for more than I bought it for with 80 hours. Only sold it cause I'm spending more time on the boat and didn't have a boat when I bought the ski. Enjoy. I'll miss it.
Thanks for watching sherry, that is a very interesting question. I've done a few things, one is to get a broom hanger from home Depot and I velcroed it to the top of the hood, then I would hook necessary items such as fenders to a bungee cord and loop it through the broom hanger so when I reach over I can grab the bungee and pull it out. Lately I've been stuffing something underneath the things I need to grab so they are up higher in the trunk. When I have my ski back out in the spring, maybe I'll see if I can improve on the hanger system and upload a video.
Cuestión, I have the same yamaha, it’s bee in my garage sitting for 2 years, have not used it, I installed a new battery and am not getting any display or power, do you thank it’s the fob? Thanks.
check to make sure the battery is connected to the correct leads ?. then you need to use the fob to unlock the ski. until you unlock the ski ?, you wont get any power to dash.
Thanks, yes I bought his JetSki before Covid then I ended up parking it inside my garage, needless to say the battery inside was completely dead, not much gasoline in the tank, I remember talking to the previous owners telling me that it was just service of oil change and new spark plugs,I was also thinking of applying some contact cleaner to some connections I don’t know I’m lost, But I appreciate all the help and knowledge thanks.
I am from Brazil, and i found one second hand to buy Year 2015, do you the diference from the year 2015 to he year 2018?Thank you a lot to post this video!
Wow that sounds risky. I would not have purchased without a test ride. If its just a new remote you need i think you'll have to order from. Dealer with VIN. If its not electronically locked now you won't need one.
Helpful review. Good point of view for the average person!

What a find. Congrats its an amazing Ski. If you are on Facebook join Yamaha Waverunner owners group.
Super helpful. Thanks for doing this.
Thanks for watching, I don't have my ski anymore. I really miss it. It was a great machine. Sold it in 2022 for more than I paid for it in 2018.
Good job man! Thanks

Just to let you know, I have same model with 600hrs on it and it looks and runs like new. Not a single issue.
Great feedback 👍 thanks for watching.
Great review! Extremely informative!

I was wondering how you get into the front storage to get anchors etc. I am short and struggle. Any tips are appreciated. Pics may help too

Do you thank its locked in? I would hate to take it to the dealership
Its worth a try! I would look into it. Mine did show as completely unresponsive if it was locked out.

Looking to buy a used one and guy says top speed is 55mph. Why would yours be faster?
Mine would consistently hit 61. 63 max on glass water.

Sorry, I don't, 2018 was my first year getting into skis. I assume the engine is probably the same. Should be a great reliable ski for you.
Hi just bought exactly the same as yours. But the seller didn’t give me the remote. I haven’t started yet What is going to happen if motor is lock?

How much gas mileage should it get? Mine says it's averaging 5.9 mpg
I couldn't tell you I ride 63mph or 30. Really vary my riding. That doesn't sound bad.
@@TNYankee2020 ok thanks, l appreciate you getting back to me. I have family in Johnson City what part of Tennessee are you in?
Rockwood. About 2 hours from there to the West on Watts Bar Lake.
