How to Use Honeybee Mini Mating Nuc

- This is my first go at using a mini mating nuc to hatch a queen cell.
I've been keeping bees for 6 years and have learned tons through trial and error, online resource, and family. I only keep 10-15 hives at a time but i manage them the same as you would in a commercial setting.

best way to gather bees for a mini nuc is to spray the frame with water so they clump together and shake into a bucket, more spray then scope a cup full out for each mini nuc

This was just for 1 nuc so I wanted to keep it simple.

For how long can i leave the queen in this mini nuc?
I’m really not sure. Never left one in there longer than a couple weeks. I wouldn’t think there would be enough bees inside to ever swarm, but I’m not speaking from experience.
Where did you get your ventilated suit from? I’ve had a heck of a time with the plastic zippers on the suits I’ve tried from local suppliers.
This one is from ultra breeze. I like it pretty good.

Yep. I Use them every year, anytime I can get a queencell to stock it with. I like them a lot!
