As I look at that land I think to my myself how people often talk about how one must be physically fit to live in such a harsh land, but it is only those of us who have live in such place that understand how important being mental fit is. It is only us who have thrived in such places who can understand how beautiful and wondrous it is. Thank you for sharing the view - it brings back good memories.
I flew into Juneau in May of 2000. Being from Indiana, it was the first time I ever witnessed snow capped peaks on large mountains. And like in your video, I looked upon Mendenhall glacier from the air with amazement. We had a few hours of layover on our way to Anchorage, so we got a cab, the driver happened to immigrate from Ireland, to take us to the glacier so we could explore some and take pictures. It still remains one of the most amazing things I’ve ever laid my eyes on. I hope to return one day and see Alaska’s beauty again.
