This sounds like something that would be in Harry Potter.
Bells play a lot of music out of tune but it doesn’t sound bad it just sounds like another version of the song in a different style it’s so cool

I think the comparison between Imperial March and Main Theme is a great illustration to what you described recently about the minor third overtone and why minor keys sound less dissonant than major keys.
Of course they are both very impressive, but Imperial March almost sounds as if it was written for carillon. Imagine if he played it at 6 AM on May the fourth, making sure that everyone woke up to a glorious and joyful Imperial Day!

    Incredible performance as always Joey!
The videogame Undertale has some really nice tunes I think would sound cool on the Carillon.
Some songs like "Waterfall" and "It's Raining Somewhere Else" could work well:3

It makes the Imperial march sound like the dance of the sugarplum fairy.

Would love to hear more Star Wars and other classics! Maybe also some Trans Siberian Orchestra songs like Christmas Eve Sarajevo, Wizard in Winter, and some songs from their Night Castle album like Night Castle, Toccatta - Carpimus Noctem, The Mountain, and Carmina Burana. Some songs from anime which I’d also be absolutely ecstatic to share as well if you’re interested! Imagine Dragons as well perhaps? I’m sure there are lots of fantastic songs you could play on the Carillon!

    Hi Joey,
That was awesome. I'm here after watching the Rob Scallon video from when you were at the UOC, now I'm watching all things Joey Brink. I've been binge watching your videos, and can see why you are considered one of the premier carillonists in the world. I do have a question for you though. You said that all carillons transpose differently. Was it hard going from the UOC carillon to the UOD carillon, or any other carillon that you may guest on? Have you ever played the carillon at the Chicago Botanic garden? Also, do you miss Big Laura?😊

      Hi! Thanks for the questions!
No, it's not hard for me to adapt between different carillons of different transpositions. I've played about 100 carillons of all different transpositions, so rather than getting used to a certain sound, I'm kind of used to the sound always changing depending on the instrument :-)
Yep, I've given a few concerts at Chicago Botanic over the years! I have a full list of my guest appearances on my website here: www.joeybrink.com/calendar
And yes, I do miss Big Laura! But actually, more than Big Laura (low C# / keyboard F), I miss the second biggest bell (low D# / keyboard G) and my favorite at Rockefeller was the third biggest bell (low E / keyboard Ab). One thing I really like about Denver carillon though is how nice the top few octaves are :-)

Lo! In a realm far, far away, amidst the heavens, a tale is writ that concerneth the strife of celestial forces. The galactic realms of yore were wracked by tumult, and betwixt the stars did two houses contest for dominion over all creation.
Now cometh the valiant Rebellion, steadfast of heart and true in purpose, arrayed against the mighty Empire, whose dark lord sitteth upon his iron throne, sowing dread and despair among the Orthodoxy. Their cruel grip bindeth the realms, and their gaze seeketh dominion over every soul beneath the firmament.
Yet, amongst the humble folk did arise a chosen one, Luke, son of Skywalker, to whom the ancient wisdom of the Jedi was bequeathed. Unto him the prophets spake, "Arise and gird thee for battle, for thou art the beacon that shall bring light unto the darkness, and the sword that shall hew down the wicked."
