This is the most colourful and informative interview I have ever seen. I use to see this great man all the time walking down the streets of Mt Lambert around 1962 . I was a kid and he had about 4 kids and a white woman with him. I don't remember who Identified him to me maybe it was my father Later I learned he had returned to Trinidad with his German wife and children. He and his children would always look at me as I walked by, and I did the same from the opposite side of the quiet street.
Loin, came back to Trinidad 🇹🇹 I think was in1960, his wife and their 4 kids, Carailas, Mohandas, Ackernathon, and Ishmael, there mom were Norwegian, how I know all that they were my neighbors, and we grew up together, watching 👀 from Bellrose NY
The name of the song is “Ha’penny Rice”. It stands for "Half Penny Rice”. In that time when Trinidad & Tobago was under British rule our currency was also British The smallest coin was half of one cent which we called a halfpenny or Farthing and you could actually buy something with it in those days
