Heres a little trivia for you about Alric Farrell (Lord Pretender)- before he died he was allowed to live in his apartment rent free. He started singing Kaiso in 1929 at the age of twelve. His mother pulled him off the stage and told him "Yuh bringing shame on the family"!! In those days, Calypso was considered unhealthy for young minds, they were discouraged from singing them.
Oh wow. I always love hearing these tidbits on our national heroes. I took them for granted when I lived a few houses from Lord Blakie and a few streets from Shadow. I remember hearing stories of me crying when Relator lifted me up at my parents' wedding.
On the portion with the Mighty Sparrow all I will say is this. The birdie should retire- for the simple fact that when he performs nowadays he lapses into a diabetic coma. Just like Dr. Eric Eustace Williams & even comedian turned MC Sprangalang, Sparrow has fallen victim to diabetes. If you check CNC3 you will see news clips of him performing & he will seem as though he has lost consciousness.
Thank you for the uploads thank you so much
