Thanks for posting. I grew up in Shorts Way Borstal which is the road adjacent to the old factories along the esplanade. Although Shorts had moved by then my dad remembered seeing the Sunderland Flying boat land on the Medway.
Short Bros. originally moved from Sheerness to Rochester Airport before moving onto the Medway. There is a very interesting photograph I have with the Short brothers and the Wright Brothers together at the works in Sheerness. An interesting piece of history.
