      @@marychrishannon7048I don't freely give interest-free loans to anyone. If you get paid $200 extra dollars on 1 paycheck, that bumps your effective tax rate up by $10,400 for that paycheck ($200 x 52 weeks) which may put you in a different tax bracket. Whatever money taken on that paycheck as taxes belongs to the government for up to 16 months, you can't get it back or otherwise use it to pay bills or live until the following April.
      It doesn't work out in your favor, don't spread misinformation if you don't understand how hourly taxes and payroll work. Anyone taking your advice will end up with less money for the rest of the year until tax day, and most people need every dollar they can get.

    • @markdoldon8852
      @markdoldon8852 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It might, to a VERY SMALL level, increase your marginal tax rate. But at the same time it LOWERED your tax rate for this week. Unless the amount underpaid is a large portion of your income, the difference will be pennies. Progressive tax rates only have a few steps, so its unlikely for $200 to change the rate at all. And the truth is that in April when you file your tax return any small diffetence will be refunded. It sucks if you live literally paycheck to paycheck to be shorted a $, but in the end, it costs you nothing in taxes. So, unless this happens regularly, its a dumb solution to commit theft, lose your job and get a criminal record. And yes, it IS firing to remove company assets and sell them, even to settle a legitimate wages dispute. Far better to quit and demand severance for 'constructive firing'. Even in the US, failing to pay a worker on time is considered unjust termination.

So, while Veronica taking things from the company and selling them is not a good idea, and we all understand the frustration that drove her to it. This shouldn't have been at issue.
      Yeah, if their solution is to add the pay into the next paycheck, then they should be willing to agree to a "small interest addition" to cover the things that would hev been paid with that money. If you work for an organization where there is so little trust between you and the administration, you need to move on. Trying to take justice into your own hands presents all kinds of legal problems, and believe me, if you have to go to court over it, the court does not pay you to hang out for many hours trying to get justice. You will end up losing a lot of time as well as your money. And if you steal from those you perceive as theives, they are better at it than you, and you will end up in misery, and lose. Move on if you are in such a bad-trust situation. It's better to be unemployed than to be employed by someone you perceive as an enemy.

    I had this happen. The funny thing is that the system the company used...hit EVERYONE and docked a full days pay because the timecard system didnt register anyone.
    The head office had to cut an emergency check for everyone at our office within 12 hours. Then it happen again, but hit 4 other stores. At that point the office has us use old time cards as a secondary once the first time happens, just to have a physical paper trail.
    All roads lead to the software payroll was using and had a subscription license.
    Lets just say the company had to settle our of court( our company sued the payroll company for issues around the system), we got a new payroll system. However the company also instituted monthly audits using both digital and physical time cards.
