Fairy looks so elegant here on the sofa. She thinks, "Enough with Popcorn and Toffee, it's my turn in the spotlight, Mum!"

Hey! Thanks so much for "the rat video!" They are unbelieveably xmart! Their stories were extremely interesting. You have such a kind heart! Thank you for talking about Fairy and the rats and how they spent some time together and when you seperated them so that the rats could have free time, staying nice and safe.
I didn't know that rats with red eyes didn't see as well. My roommate had a wonderful Russian Dwarf hamster that had red eyes named Big Red. I wonder if the eyes are similarily affected.
    Take care.

You are the best, Too many people think that death is the worst thing but actually suffering and pain are worse. I have often found myself biting my lip when friends tell me they hate seeing their pet in pain but dont have the wisdom and unselfishness to do the right thing for their pet, I am sure all your pets are living the best possible life and will never experience suffering

Your Rats are spoiled. The rats love this of course! A lot of dogs can get along with rats.

You were absolutely correct to have your rat put to sleep at the correct time. Around 13 years ago my cat had an obvious terminal condition, yet when I took him to the vet the vet's mantra was "where there is life, there is hope". The vet was basically saying that if my cat could have another 2 weeks or one month of life then the correct course of action was not to put him to sleep. The vet was incorrect and even today I regret not over-ruling his recommendation. My cat had another month of life and he was clearly uncomfortable throughout. He died in an uncomfortable way. I am sickened to this day that I believed the vet on this occasion. I made a mistake and will never make that mistake again. My second cat contracted FIV about one year later and I took him to a second vet. She advised it was terminal and that the correct decision was to put him to sleep. We did that - it was heart breaking but was the correct thing to do. Such are the responsibilities of pet ownership.

Oh, that's lovely. Rats are really beautiful creatures and make lovely pets. Unfortunately, as they are bred for lab experiments, they develop tumors really easily. Thank you for taking such good care of these precious wee beasts.

👍💕Rats need loving homes too. You can find them in many municipal shelters and through rat recues. They're wonderful animals!💕🤗👍

Awww I loved seeing your rats! They are so precious!!! Mine were named Dakota and MJ and MJ died first and it was so hard on me. I found him dead one morning in the cage and then soon after Dakota ended up with a tumor and we had to put him down when he was suffering. I haven't had any pets since! It was far too emotional for me.They did live longer than most, almost 4 years. I held Dakota for HOURS waiting for my husband to take him to a vet. I was able to share how much joy he brought me and thanked him for being in my life and letting me love him. I made tiny salads for them each night when I made mine. They truly are special! I loved the beautiful stones you had made with their photos and the rainbow. Thank you for sharing them with us!!! 🥰

Love Fairy's expression when you are holding the rats! I too, like rats, though I've never had pet ones of my own. I did have guinea pigs, which are adorable but also short-lived, & I'm not sure as intelligent as rats. They did get to run around my large living room, blocked off to the rest of the house. My grey adored cats & she was clearly disappointed that my cat would have nothing to do with what he considered an inferior species. However, someone pointed out to me that "cat sleeping/walking is indoors is different than cat running outside," & sure enough, my grey would chase the cat if he ran. Cat was quite streetwise & knew not to run generally, & if the dog did see him running & give chase, Cat would go straight up a tree, & I'd call out "NO!!" I think if the dog had caught the cat, she (dog) wouldn't have known what to do---she'd never actually caught anything before! Cat often "schooled" dog by hiding on a chair seat under the table & smacking Dog soundly when she walked by.

You're such a lovely guardian for your animals❤️
Sadly many tame rats don't live much longer than 2 - 3 years before they develop tumors.
My daughter's Spanish rescue dogs - one's a Galgo aka Spanish greyhound - don't tolerate rats, hedgehogs and other smaller animals, so they live without rats after the passing of the two they had, who both died because of tumors.
Lovely to see that your rats too live lovely lives🥰

I had a pet rat from 1987 until 1989. He was lots of fun. Anybody who has a rat would know this but, Rats are basically squirrels without the bushy tail
Me 2 rats were called rats were named Cirrhosis and Sid Vicious.
After my university decided it will be best if I left I went to a new one, And would always adopt the rats From people who used them For snake food but Didn't have the heart to do it
