- Well we all watched during the livestream from the Key Bridge in Baltimore while Chessie and the Claw struggled to bring a piece of debris up. Well they made it! The 4K camera caught it just as we were leaving today....and now you get to see it!
This is a modified video with audio over laid from today's livestream

Thanks Maine!!
Hi Andy, Great footage as always, I have watched several of your videos on this and also the other videos on the Golden Ray series..... Very much appreciated from Melbourne Australia.
Spotting the boom for an underwater pick is an art.
You are such a great guy Captain Andy, thanks so much
You are very welcome
Thank you Captain Andy. These videos are always amazing
Glad you think so!
Thanks Cap'n Andy. Hopefully this will help people to understand the enormity of what's happening. There are NO small parts to this job.
You know I like these condensed lives, I can't hang in every minute though I wished I could.
Thank you Captain Andy!
👍🤠
I appreciate your commentary & the sped up time lapse video for those of us who can`t view what`s happening live stream.
It's amazing to see this in faster mode. It's also amazing how the tugs are positioning the cranes. Awesome video. Thanks, Captain Andy!
Great video. Thanks for your continuing coverage.
👍👍👏👏🇺🇲
I saw that on the live feed after yours ended, approximately 20 minutes later. Glad to see they got it!
Capt Andy, a little more back ground for you. The DG sets on most ships have dedicated supply return lines and Racor filters at each genset, fed from a "day Tank" of clean processed fuel via a centrifuge...all marine systems this large follow the IMO reg's, Solas, if you will.. a Main Tie Main, or MTM is how we separate the DG's from each other, they can be isolated in the event of a fault. a fault can be described many ways, short circuit/overload/eq failures..Gensets have undervolatge/overvoltage/under frequency/over frequency devices and phase loss as well as what many folks understand as Tripped, many things can cause a breaker to trip. a generator can trip due to fuel starvation....so back to the day tank for genset, diesel is dirty, in a day tank the dirt settles and can cover the suction line that feed a genset, normal maintenance requires a day tank cleaning every 5 years of so, been there done that, seen the sludge come out of the tank. Yes, the big engines can run on many grades of fuel, hence the need for steam boiler, heavy crude's get's warmed up a bit so it is more liquid if you will, main engine fuel and generator fuel kept separate as best they can...Emergency genset's have a list of required services for emergencies, rules require them to be online within 45 seconds...tested monthly... For those reading this, I have 40 years in the oil patch as electrician/supervisor/manager/wore the white shirt in the office..If you want to know, look up SOLAS requirements for Safety Of Life At Sea, if you want more detail, looks up ABS rules for ship building, there is a special section for electrical systems...40 years folks, plank holder on many keels laid and no idea how many refits upgrades, go look folks, be informed, you may not understand it all, But I do. Thanks Capt Andy and your team, I'm retired now and still alive and kicking, regards to all k5vwz
9:51 Your kind effort from day one in bringing to fore every moment of the on-going massive salvage operation, deserves tons and tons of commendation. I for one following these moments since the unfortunate tragedy just felt I have been at the site of the whole operation watching it physucally!!!Yes that fantastic and fabuous has been the coverage in every respect. God bless Baltimore, the US and you all.
It is amazing with the 4K to really see how big these crane barges are. The smaller boats look like toys compared to them.
Greetings from Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, Thanks for your videos
Our pleasure!
I keep coming back everyday, just like the Golden Ray coverage that you provided. Excellent as always. Thanks Andy.
Thanks again!
Good Morning! Awesome video as always!!!
Hey Captain Andy & Crew !!!! YEPPER!!! Persistence prevails & Thanks for leaving the camera going to catch this !!! 🙂🙃😉😊🤠😎👍👍👍👍👍
Unexpected excitement!

When I watched the cressy work that peace of metal in normal time you did not understand the force that was being used. When watching it on high speed 4k you see the power of cressy was putting in. Thank-you for both films.
Thank you Andy
Very welcome
Thanks!
Thank you Captain Andy for all that you have done. You are awesome
Thank you kindly
I appreciate your desire make this knowledgeable and
entertaining.
You really know your stuff and I like your southern accent:)

Hello from Houston Texas Capt.. It's a wicked stormy day.
Glad you showed this video, I watched a majority of the live, and it was frustrating to see the claw not bring anything up! It's harder than it looks so I understood.
It is possible that when they blew the pieces apart, that chunk went down and a good length of part of it rammed itself deep in the mud on the bottom, and each 'pull/lift', the claw pulled it a bit further out, but the claw is a cutter, not serrated, so it slipped against the mud-suction. So it took a few attempts to get it fully clear of the bottom, and then "Surprise" they got it!
Thats my opinion. May happen on other pieces with the muddy bottom.
Would you believe, Oh, yes you did catch the claw with a mouthful, she did grab a couple of loads. :)
great video again today!!! Thank you for your hard work!!!
Thanks again!
Fantastic video, Captain Andy! Be safe as well.
Waited with baited breath for the event with the claw, fast forward to 9.05 for the 5 seconds of action. wow just wow. British!!
That was a surprise for me too. Had left the 4k camera running while I was breaking down equipment and when I got back and started editing------SHAZAM!
Very fascinating! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for all you hard work. I am enjoying your coverage of this disaster!
Thank you Sir and thank you to all of our new Members and Subscribers! #IYKYK
Thanks Andy for the video
Excellent video as always, Andy 😊
Many thanks!
For anyone who's interesetd, Defense Now channel has some stunning footage from onboard the Dali from recent days
Yes it is a very good video,
I posted a link to it in another comment but it may have been shadow banned by YT.
Captain Andy I salute you! Great job of providing these live streams and videos.
I appreciate that
Greetings Captain Andy. WORKING SPUDS.
Hello there! THANKS ANDY
That "Spud" system, has been shrunk down so that some "Base" boats use something similar, but smaller. Its a pretty neat system.
Great stuff....
Thanks!
Hi thank you for the pictures
Awesome video you did a good job editing in it
Thanks!
For some reason, I suddenly pictured Yoda from Star Wars using the Force to lift objects from the wreckage.
Believe I saw Chessie get two nice meals towards the end of the day, just trying to get hold of things. Thank you, great view todaay
Thanks for watching!
Omg amazing glad you got it Captain Andy
Thank you Captain.
Thanks captain
I was hoping for a very very big catfish! Sort of disappointed lol thank you for the videos from the Midwest country hick
Slow but steady.
you got it!!! Yayyy Cap'n Andy!! Thank you so much for all you do Sir!

You're welcome 😊
Who said watching paint dry isn’t fun!! Thanks again
😂😂😂 well said!!!
Thanks for the video! I do not profess to even be able to comprehend the difficulties in this task. But, based upon what I have heard, I thought the Dali was supposed to have been floated and moved by now. As of now, is there any sort of updated guesstimate on when that may happen? I know people who are scheduled for a cruise out of there in a few weeks so I am wondering what the likelihood of that happening is in the coming weeks. Any words of wisdom or insight would be appreciated.
I'd find it interesting to see this scene from above.
You have a Chinese HT. I recognized the "Channel Mode" :) I have a few myself :)
It's cool getting an early view as a member. Well done Captain Andy!
Many thanks!
Thanks Captain Andy. I had to work today from 5:30 AM till 8 PM but was able at one point to see some of your earlier video. I thought I heard that Unified Command has stopped work until they can assess the high pressure gas line near or under the bow. Is this so?
I’ve been clamoring on for everrrrr about solar flares, CMEs & space weather….I was TICKLED today when it got mentioned by many members of the chat. #SuspiciousObservers #TinfoilHatsON

Please raise the camera up a bit. Great coverage and clarity thank you
Noted
I am watching you right now
They seem to be doing some cutting on the Starboatd bow I could see sparks.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for all your efforts in covering the cleanup ..
But unfortunately for me, this is about as exciting as watching the grass grow..lol
I think they are trying to get rust to work in their favor.
yes the atlantic is a big pond at over 5000miles long
👍
Thank you! How are the barge spuds raised and lowered?
Some barges have a winch system, some use the cranes aboard.
@@MinorcanMullet Thank you. So they just drop by gravity, unlike a pile being driven?
Your sure raking it in.
Key Bridge
*Capt Andy...respectfully...these videos better without us listening to the radio ....I rather hear u talk lol* 😂
Why aren’t they getting the debris off the Dali? I would think clearing it and moving the Dali to the port to offload all those containers would be a high priority.
Channel called "Defense Now" just posted some incredible footage from aboard the DALI.
has anyone calculated how much weight was sitting on the DOLI
I haven't heard an estimate
Wasn't that part of the Road ?
Time and materials.
Grabbing a piece of cheese in Australia today, if only you had an USA claw?
the lady hero does look under the influence of something. i'd guess alcohol
This is better than figuring out how things are going in Gaza?
Your Name is Captain Andy? You told me Minorcan. I wondered why everyone was calling you Andy. Is your radio One way or 2 way communications? Thanks, Terry
Yes. I answer to several names-some I shall not mention in this forum! But I am Captain Andy-The Minorcan Mullet!
You forgot my second question, which is : is your radio a receiver or Transceiver?
What did i miss????
Some very interesting close up film clips, most of which I haven't seen on and near the Dali on TH-cam,

YOUR DAILY UNSOLICITED FUN FACT: Francis Scott Key was a powerful Maryland attorney and District Attorney in Washington D.C. He suppressed abolitionists and fought for the rights of slave owners to recapture their runaway slaves. At his death in 1843, Scott still owned 8 slaves. "Over the land of the free!!!!!!" well, no not exactly.
Like watching paint dry on wall.
Thats it?
Great Job Covering THe Salvage
Is Baltimore in the USA that important?
I would say this Port is most important to maintaining the timely supply chain for much of this country.
It still looks like a waste of crane resources. The Chesapeake is playing a blind folded game of pick up sticks or go fish, while there are very large sections of the bridge still in the water, where the crane could be better utilized. The Weeks crane is only moving around 1,000 to 1,200 pound work boxes and man lifts which could be performed by smaller cranes. The personnel on the Weeks crane should be ashamed of their performance thus far. The two biggest cranes in the river are doing the least amount of work. The dredge and smaller cranes onsite however are kicking butt.
So what was the big deal???
Really ,didn’t see but a small something , dam !
A major disappointment.
if that is all it got in a whole day then mess is never going to get cleared.
Seriously? This is said to be a national priority. The strongest crane equipped with the strongest claw just spent all day trying to pick up one object. Why is that OK? Why does Minorcan Mullet say "I'm sure you won't be disappointed" I am so very disappointed. There is about 50 thousands of tons of debris to be picked up. How is that going to happen at a rate of just a few tons per day. To date, less than 10% of the wreckage has been removed. At today's rate it will take 3 years to clear out the fallen wreckage. Why is nobody else calling out this unreasonably slow progress ? How can anyone accept that this is a reasonable response to a "national emergency"?
Big steps and little ones gets you there. Sorry you are so bore but then , of course you are. Get a hobby.
Nut case
If you are an expert, why don’t you volunteer to help them.
More than enough equipment to progress this job at a higher rate. Disappointing, and costly operation! Too much spin from the commentator!
It happens like this when everybody forgets to bring their magic wands. There's only so many simultaneous tasks and pieces of equipment you can safely operate in this kind of environment.
Trust me, a lot of work was being done that you just can't see. It'll also speed up greatly once the structure is cleared, so your math isn't applicable or accurate. The rate of removal isn't a constant.
What was I supposed to see ?
Thanks!
