I love my snowcaster and will always use one. I even bought a spare in case they stop making them. I'm on my 1st blade and about to start my 10th year with it. If you need to throw the snow you can just kinda lift it with your foot and push it out. really though, it's not a replacement for a shovel, but you can clear a huge area really fast provided the snow isn't too deep or heavy.
The SnowCaster is great with 4 inches or less of light fluffy snow. In that scenario it pushes snow to the side very easily- doesn’t build up like that. Not so great with wet heavy snow.
The snowjoe is my favorite!!! So easy to toss the snow doesn't hurt my back. I like the dull blade I don't like to shovel to bare cement, I like to leave a small layer of snow so it's not as slippery and I don't use as much.
I think you finally figured it out somewhat! That plow was invented in the town I live in North Dakota. But it is not a “Shovel” as you see it is meant to plow a lot fast and a shovel is needed when you get deep! But I often go out every once and while and easily clear a couple inches quickly then I can do it again in a couple hours but not for 6-12” of build up
Got a Sunjoe from Amazon. Then realized it was about $20 cheaper at Home Depot. Helps toss snow, but sucks on concrete as the aluminum edge causes drag and catches on rougher parts on concrete. After about 15 mins my “pushing” arm was so tired from the drag (my pathways are in good condition). Planning on returning it.
Great video! When I saw the mountains in the background, I literally gasped at how lucky you are to have that view! I was wondering about the one on the wheels. I have a Worx snowblower that I LOVE, but I do have an ergonomic shovel. Just looking for a faster shovel when I don't need my Worx. Thanks for sharing!
I have been using the snowcaster for a couple of years. It works well on the frequent pesky sideshow snowfalls. But for the big event snow, I drag out the snowblower.
I have a 17 year old True Temper version of the Suncaster (the green one sold at Lowe's back then) still in good enough shape, and also the newer yellow one that's about 14 years old in perfect shape. It's more or less a perfect snow shovel. There is no reason to stoop or bend over, and all you need need is 2" of a leg squat while keeping the arms relaxed and straight if you need to lift the snow to carry it.
Ginja will what's wrong with my lawn ever come back. I really miss it and have learned so much about lawns I am looking forward to using my sun Jo soon to pick up lawn debris
Planning on it. Few issues we had here. Suffered a long drought. Made it difficult to get people on board for the necessary repairs. We received a lot of snow this winter so I’m more optimistic I can get people on board
Thank you for the detailed video. Learned a lot today. However, I couldn't find Suncast SC3250 18-inch anymore over Amazon :( Any alternative that you recommend?
I have a snow shovel, I think it’s yellow. Thank goodness I haven’t had to use it here in NC. In fact I just scalped my Bermuda. I would take the 36 inch, if I needed it. I enjoy your Channel and your wide variety of content. Are you missing the green tips flying?
Is it just me, or does it look like you can swap the scoop from the sun Joe and the other ergo one? Maybe get best of both worlds since you already have it.
Remember to buy your show removal tools BEFORE the first snowfall. Otherwise you may have a long delay. This is mandatory for snow blowers. I was stuck buying a bigger and more expensive one than I wanted because all the other cheaper ones were out of stock. My wallet hurt, but my drive is always spotless!
Quiet the opposite. Utah is a dry cold climate. Relative humidity is low which is why that happens on occasion. Most of the time we get an inch or so of pure slush the 3 inches of snow on top. Then other times we get a light fluffy layer on top.
Ergonomics are really subjective. I have the Sunjoe and I hate it. Mind you I am a Senior woman and I prefer to push rather than lift snow. Sunjoe just didn't do it for me, but I know there are a lot of people who like it.
I think the TLDR version of this vid is, the more shovely a shovel is, the better it shovels. Haha. I was hoping to find a shovel that has easily replaceable blades. Having a shovel last One year isn’t long enough imo
@@pestandlawnginja i bought a little pop rivet gun and steel bar to make my own replacement blades but the rivets are wearing through after only a few uses.
It's fine that you do that but what you're going to need is a snow scoop if you have that then you don't need to really anything else but a scraper because lifting snow is for foolish people

I've had a Suncast for years and it is still working great. I live in Nebraska .
Love the feedback!
Nice job. Beautiful dog! WOOF!
Thanks! He's a stinker but we love him
I might get the snow caster and mount it on one of my hand carts. The wheels on that look very cheap but like you said the blade is durable looking.

Indeed!!! It’s a great tool for what it was intended for
I got the snowplow snow pusher 36”. Haven’t needed it much in Pittsburgh PA this year.
I like it a lot. it's great for its intended purpose.

Great video ginja love it keep em coming!!
Thanks! Will do!
LAWN GINGAAAAAA! Great to see you doin’ a snow shovel video! It’s been crazy here in Utah this winter!
I know!! Nutz!!!! We’ve needed it for a while so I’m happy. More snow the merrier
How aren't there more comments about this awesome doggo just wanting to play? Love him! (also, useful video. Thanks!)
Right?! He's a chunk lol
Good review G appreciate your honesty on these 👍🏻
Always! Thanks for the comment

great points! Thanks for sharing.
It all depends on the scenario at hand. No snow is alike. Metal scraper blades suck over time! Ergonomic handles are awkward when it comes to pushing.
Great feedback
The sleigh shovel or for you folks below the 49 th, the yooper scooper is very good if your back is not great.
awesome feedback!
Excellent reviews. I would add that a riveted metal edge is superior to one that isn't.
💯👊🏻😁

You're welcome!
Added two chains from the blade to the handle! Now I can pickup using the wheels to raise the blade 😃works great

Oh no! I haven't tested others to tell you
I just use a metal grain shovel. Had the same one for 20 years.
I have one! Great idea
The Sun Joe makes a polycarbonate plastic with a spring loaded shovel now
Awesome 👌 thanks for sharing
I like to call it the nocaster. The Dakota snow blade is by far the best. The material on the nocaster gets so brittle when cold.
Sounds like a test I can do for the future. Thanks for the comment
Anyone have recommendations for a steep driveway? I am thinking I can just push the snow off the driveway and down the hill…
I would ditch the shovel and get a power shovel. they're fantastic for steep driveways.

Thanks John! Green tips flying? How do you mean?
@@pestandlawnginja when you cut your lawn, the tips of the lawn go flying. Looks better when cool guys like you reel mow. I’m a rotor guy.
I think the snow caster or the 36" one is for sidewalks or would be perfect for them at least!
They also sell a 48" model.
Oh yea I wonder if it would work better or worse?
@@vinnypinatelli221 same 😅

Be tough with the sun Joe due to the punches in the blade. I’ll have to take another look at how their both attached to the handles/sticks
@@pestandlawnginja not the blade, but the hole scoop
@@Nurse_Lucy I understood 😄
It’s a good idea. These units come or assembled. So I’m not sure how they’re secured to the handle posts

Soo true!
I only buy the snow shovel that my kids want to use.
Good call 👊🏻🥳
You should review your Snowcaster against the Snow Boss.
Love the recommendation
You must have a heated driveway or it's not that cold in your area. The snow does not stick on your driveway.
Quiet the opposite.

I do snow ft or a living and your pet just got me laughing
He's a funny dude. loves to kill snow shovels and reel mowers hahaha.
blades on shovels can be a disadvantage, in certain conditions and some types of sidewalk/driveway material plastic is better.
Agree

Thanks! Love the feedback
Audio is all jacked up. I miss Ginja vids!
Yah. Few mic issues due to the cars passing on snow ❄️
Snow ginga
Has a good ring to it hahaha
