We had a Saab 9-3 1*9 diesel. A truly epic car, I serviced it and found the speed limit warning chime and turned it on at 99 mph. My wife went to Boundry Mill at Walsall with her sister, when I got home a seriously disgruntled wife asked what the hell I’d done to the car as it was making a really annoying bonging sound there and back.🤦♂️😳😂

Well I have never felt so planted and at one with the vehicle as I was with this one after only 2 minutes behind the wheel. Had I had the money I would have bought it on the spot! I fell for the same trick. I bought a jacket which looked very stylish in the Jones of London advert, when it arrived I literally burst out laughing because it was absolutely shocking, the material was so thin I think it only had the one side. Anyway £54.00 down the drain I thought, but fortunately I had used PayPal and they refunded the full amount within the week😁. The seller will offer you a 10% refund then up it to 15%, refuse these and send all correspondence to PayPal or your credit card company and you should get your money back because as you say it’s a total scam.
The internet is full of them. I had some fun looking for Canon cameras on Marketplace and finding obvious scams and reporting them. Once go scammed on a Camera myself but never again. Looks like a nice car Geoff.
I've been there. Had it with leggings, turned out they are horrible material, pattern printed, and so on. Now. when something says about a long delivery time, I gather ..from China or such..and often massive delivery or return cost. Your jumper isn't really a jumper, not being woollie or such. Still if it's useful in some way, it's not a waste as such. Experience

A member of my family had a bad experience, the car was advertised with nice photos and service history, on the phone he said it looks great I’ll have it. He drove 200mike to pick it up and it turned out to be on a site full of people who favour hedgehog pie, The car was in a shipping container buried in scrap parts so much so that you could only see the grill and half the bonnet. He instantly told them to Foxtrot Oscar but they insisted he MUST buy it because he committed to the purchase in the phone. He countered with that they are bunch of lying cheating B*stards and they owe him for petrol money for wasting his time. He was then surrounded by an aggressive mob insisting that he buy the car. Luckily he is a very large man who used to be a bouncer and can look after himself. He left when they all came to an agreement they weren’t going to hurt each other.
Sorry for your misfortune Geoff, I have a Ebay feedback of 200+ buying and selling, and always check the location of sellers, but still get caught out now and again as they can be so clever at hiding the fact they are abroad. That said, the two items I bought by mistake from China, a sensor bracket and linkage, and brass Keihin carb float bowl drain screws, were bang on quality, cheap and arrived quicker than some UK stuff I have bought. I do accept after seeing this £40 garage rag though, that I may have been lucky!
Sometimes you can buy a car that surprises. I bought a 2011 bmw 535d gt in August that looks like it's been through a time warp. I can't find a single scratch on the bodywork, nothing, zilch, not a titter of damage anywhere. Drives like it's two years old. I'm just now waiting for the bmw bong of doom to put me in my place 🙄
I had the exact same model, different year: 1997 Saab 95 with the indestructible Getrag auto transmission. It was excellent apart from the dreadful GM/Vauxhall/Opel Ecotec engine. Mine blew up around the 157,000 mile mark. I suspect it was total turbo failure. Managed to extract 2 grand from the government scrappage scheme for a new Golf diesel.

A member of my family had a bad experience, the car was advertised with nice photos and service history, on the phone he said it looks great I’ll have it.
He drove 200mike to pick it up and it turned out to be on a site full of people who favour hedgehog pie,
The car was in a shipping container buried in scrap parts so much so that you could only see the grill and half the bonnet.
He instantly told them to Foxtrot Oscar but they insisted he MUST buy it because he committed to the purchase in the phone.
He countered with that they are bunch of lying cheating B*stards and they owe him for petrol money for wasting his time.
He was then surrounded by an aggressive mob insisting that he buy the car.
Luckily he is a very large man who used to be a bouncer and can look after himself.
He left when they all came to an agreement they weren’t going to hurt each other.

Sorry for your misfortune Geoff, I have a Ebay feedback of 200+ buying and selling, and always check the location of sellers, but still get caught out now and again as they can be so clever at hiding the fact they are abroad. That said, the two items I bought by mistake from China, a sensor bracket and linkage, and brass Keihin carb float bowl drain screws, were bang on quality, cheap and arrived quicker than some UK stuff I have bought. I do accept after seeing this £40 garage rag though, that I may have been lucky!
Sometimes you can buy a car that surprises. I bought a 2011 bmw 535d gt in August that looks like it's been through a time warp. I can't find a single scratch on the bodywork, nothing, zilch, not a titter of damage anywhere. Drives like it's two years old. I'm just now waiting for the bmw bong of doom to put me in my place 🙄
Ps That Saab is beautiful! For a basic model it's fast, practical, and economical!

I had the exact same model, different year: 1997 Saab 95 with the indestructible Getrag auto transmission. It was excellent apart from the dreadful GM/Vauxhall/Opel Ecotec engine. Mine blew up around the 157,000 mile mark. I suspect it was total turbo failure. Managed to extract 2 grand from the government scrappage scheme for a new Golf diesel.
