Retired teacher here. Went to Alaska last year right out of teaching. Absolutely loved it. No big excursions except one fishing trip. Will be going back at some point because you just can’t see it all in one trip due to weather.
Im a retired teacher as well and we will be heading to Alaska next summer (2025). We, too, will be trying to be a frugal as possible. Im excited to watch your videos on your trip to Alaska.
One tired teacher and a tired banker here. We so enjoy your videos and Alaska is on our bucket list for 2025! We anxiously await you adventures. Hope you had a great trip!
Looking forward to the Alaska videos from you girls!!! Built my camper for precisely the reason you're talking about: getting to take trips more often and to more places because I can take trips cheaply!! I don't need to eat out or go shopping or pay for expensive excursions to have a great time. The fun is in the journey and seeing God's creation all along the way.
I’m looking forward to hearing all about your Alaska trip. We were fortunate enough to live 13 years in Eagle River, just north of Anchorage. We owned a travel trailer while there and enjoyed camping throughout the state. We even took the trailer on the state ferry to southeast Alaska…my husband once had to back the trailer onto the ferry! Scary ordeal for him to say the least. I hope you both had a fantastic trip.
Way to go!!!!! I'm sure you had a fabulous trip, and I do hope that all went well. Sharon, way to go on analyzing what the best use of your $$ is for fishing. I always love how analytical you are.
Wendy and I are so excited to watch your Alaska adventure! Since the major health challenges in our lives we now enjoy our love for travel through our friends and families travel! We especially enjoy your travels. First because of both your testimonies, second because your travel philosophy and priorities are inline with ours, lastly we lived our last two and a half years of our full time adventure in the same model trailer as yours! Wendy and I appreciate you both very much!
There are so many sights along the way that you don’t pay extra for. It is possible to have a marvelous time without any excursions and a lot of those are dependent on the weather which can change on a dime!!
I am so excited for you! We are going also! We watch your videos and are planning to go straight north from KS through the Dakotas, as we journey up and over to BC and the Alcan. We have gleaned a lot from you. Thanks and 🎉!
@@gaylarathbun5168 When are you planning on going? Autumn in Alaska started in August. Snow typically starts in September. As Texans, we don't do snow.
@TwoTiredTeachers As I got further in, I realized you already went. Ha! Looking forward to your videos. We plan on starting in July, taking a few weeks to get about to Banff, returning by way of Idaho. ; ) Debating: leave Wichita mid June or July 5 ish? Advise!
Love Love Love your videos! My husband and I are retired and started full time rv’ing in April. Next summer, we are going to Alaska, so we will be watching every week to get great advice and content since we will likely be following close in your footsteps. Did you all cross into Canada via Sweet Grass? Thanks ladies! May God bless your travels!
I am so excited to follow your Alaskan Adventure! We're hoping to do a similar low budget trip in a year or two! I'll definitely be taking down some notes while watching your videos!😊
Wow!! That is exciting. Can't wait to see the adventure. Smart on the Fly fishing equipment. You'll have a blast. Never know, folks have caught small salmon on a 5wt rod.
Loved this! My husband and I want to go to Alaska and have been scared of the cost. And I love that you’re going for 4 months! Can’t wait to see how your trip goes. Are you planning to visit ALL of the National Parks in Alaska? (I realize you may be almost done with your trip now) Also, does Sharon do all the driving?
First, Sharon did every bit of the driving. I was awake for most of it. We will have a video with our cost from Canada to Alaska and back to the lower 48 states. The only national park we visited in Alaska was Denali. The trip lasted three and a half months. We left June 10 and got home today. It was the trip of a lifetime.
