Cameron Park Blowout 2024 | Waco, TX | Texas Mountain Bike Racing

The fourth race of the Texas Mountain Bike Racing State Championship Series was at Cameron Park in Waco, Texas.
Based on everything we saw on TH-cam we thought it was going to be an epic ride, but an unusually wet spring, turned the trails from epic to gnarly, and forced us to cancel our pre-ride.

Cameron Park is a great place to ride. I rode there many years ago. Made it to the top and was rewarded with a magnificent view of the Brazos River.

Definitely - would suggest hitting it on a dry day though!

A drier day for sure. Some moisture in the soil is good there. It's an up-and-down, punchy climb/decent type of riding. While any bike but a hardtail will be fun, the longer travel trail bike is better. There are some techy, but short descents (Thor, for example) . There are a few jump lines like Arizona and Weber Run.

Will was running Pirelli Scorpions and I was running xr2 back, xr3 front. (Switched to Rekon front and back since)

Think there must be a rule about races not being canceled. But - wow that course beat me up. Really want to ride it when it’s hero dirt!
