@@clairedixon8068 ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've had to listen to that horrid tune every Christmas for 50+ years. THANK GOD FOR FOREST GREEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@josephr.gainey2079 thank you so much for loving Forest Green so much. It has not just a beautiful melody but also very nice harmony and tempo. BTW I change my account often, because I've had some people cyberbullying me (not in this comment thread; a different one) about my love for Forest Green. They called me obsessive. That hurts. --Claire Dixon
I just discovered your channel via this video. I wish I didn't have to go to work now. I could sit here listening to you all for the rest of the day!!!!!!!! God bless you all and Happy Christmas from South Carolina, USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A lovely performance of a carol that is always a great favourite every Christmas. Ralph Vaughan Williams matched this beautiful English folk tune to some wonderful lyrics by Phillips Brooks (Rector of Boston's Trinity Church and briefly Bishop of Massachusetts). James, I really like the tempos you choose to accompany hymns and carols as all too often organists can play too slowly for my liking: you give Forest Green impetus and you all manage particularly well the challenge of the rhythm transition from line 3 to line 4 (often the point where congregations can stumble!).
Thank you. I do have the tendency to play a little too fast but I think this was ok! You are right, the rhythm change does trip the congregation. Hopefully by verse 5 it’s all good!
Ewwwwww... forest green. *puke*
🤣
..."Puke"? Oh please don't say that about the best melody ever composed!
The St. Louis tune, on the other hand, IS pukeworthy.
