    Awsome looking spot mate. I hope you don't mind me throwing tips at you, but use the back spine of your Silky saw with it in the closed position to strike your ferro. Anchor the saw over your tinder and pull back on the ferro. 100% more sparks. You can also slowly scrape ferro into your tinder without sparking it to build a up a magnesium pile and spark that into an inferno. Hope it helps your ferro technique.

      Yeah I have a knife that I typically use the back end of. But these were new rods so I was trying the included blade. The rope was too short though making it difficult to use. That blade also made it too hard to do it slowly to try and get little pieces off as I did try that aswell but it was sparking no matter how slow I went. I've watched around 10 different videos on TH-cam on different techniques lol. I'm just not going to bother using the built-in blade anymore and go back to my knife

    So a few things....That camp spot, its a bloody beautiful place! Have only stayed there once but its fantastic. Also, so good to see the misses out and about with you enjoying the camping scene. As for your job, that's massive news!!!! Congratulations legend, such an exciting time ahead for you!!
    Just means time is limited for us to catch up for camping on the river before we have to find each other somewhere else around OZ 😂😂🤣🤣

    Feel for your Mrs…
    Maybe try and include her more in the vids and buy her a tent and air mattress of her own instead of her sleeping out in the elements while your all cozy in a tent and air mattress!!

    • @Campingdownunder
      @Campingdownunder  ปีที่แล้ว

      I've been trying to get her to be in my videos from the very start but she's far too shy. She actually wanted to come out on the last trip with me where I went solo boat camping but I only had enough lightweight camping gear at that time for 1 person. Since the motor is so small on the boat I can't just throw in one of my swags for us both to hop in as it's too heavy. So I actually spent $300 last week ordering in more lightweight hiking gear for the sole purpose of her being able to come out on the boat with me. If you watched my previous video I slept in the hammock our last 2 camping trips & she wanted to try it out this time hence why she chose to sleep in the hammock. I spent more money than I could afford just to ensure she could join me out camping. She also had a shelter over her hammock protecting her. My partner agreed to sleep in the back to basics conditions same as I've been doing lately. I didn't make her do anything she didn't want to do & did everything in my power to make sure she was comfortable

      @user-nc9dy5sn1c ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was just a thought, may have come across wrong, it was truely great to see her out with you, hopefully she overcomes the shyness and joins in more next time.
      Looked like a gorgeous spot!!
