Brilliant vid. From a good bloke. For those that don't know this guy won the first ever UK big brother and a load of cash , gave the lot to a young lady who needed a operation I think. One of life's good guys. Building cabinet tomorrow.
Hey Craig, I watched your video and then built two identical end tables and a coffee table for our living room. They all look like shipping crates, all made of pallet wood. My wife loves the way they turned out thanks for the step by step instructions.👍👍
I have worked in professional cabinet shops and what you are doing is great,I want my new kitchen to be nice and not cost a million to build or look like it came out of the big box stores.
First I must say that it looks great. Really like the way you tell of each step you are doing. So easy to follow, did not have to watch over and over to see what you were doing next. Wish more people on youtube would follow your example on how to do a video.
I love this. This is how I build stuff. Start out with a basic idea and then from there seat of the pants. Make it up as you go along. I'm not trying to get my stuff into the Victoria and Albert Museum, just having fun and trying to not spend half my life vegetating in front of the tv.
Can't stop watching this video I find it so satisfying my mum can remember you from big brother and I can remember you from 60 minute hope life's doing you well keep up the AWSOME content.
Must admit that Silverline tools have truely improved greatly and the life of them is not bad at all for the price, i use them a lot, the warranty is a good one as well, no messing around, they are not fancy looking like snap on, mac tools and all the other high priced tools that are made in china then re-branded by top companys.
Thanks! I can always use some more storage in my shop, and pretty much all the wood I use is scrap wood. I'll try this one with my sons this summer. We will probably sand and paint our pieces before finishing assembly, though. :)
What a good tutorial for a beginner. Super details and explain patiently, show guidance in each step like my father taught me during my primarly school. Good job 👍🏻
Those are the best videos on simple reusing of pallet wood here in TH-cam! Believe me, I've been looking for ideas on reusing pallet wood but all the videos come with lots of "extras" that make no sense. Your videos are so simple yet so easy to follow up for someone like me (an absolute beginner). Once again, thank you so very much and greetings from Portugal.
Nice, straight to the point and easy to follow. Great cabinet. I need to make one to place my solar panel electrical components inside of this type of cabinet. Yo answered my problem. Thumbs up!
Great how to video, I would like to see the shelves inside prepared before sticking the whole thing together though because I don't think you'd get a fixing once it's all together. A nice simple bit of storage and a nice easy project though. Thank you!
Again, you've inspired me Craig! One question, what are the most common size and gauge screws you use? The spectrum of sizes, plating, indoor/outdoor and prices is mind boggling!! Bulk boxes of 1000 screws seem to be way more affordable, but obviously it'd be crazy to buy a box of every size.
I would flip over that bottom so that it is a flat side up , put diagonal braces on the inside of the sides so that over time the unit would not sag down in front if mounted to a wall , predrill for recycled nails to avoid splitting as I cannot afford screws . I have had a little success at making hardware from strapping used to hold loads together but this requires heat treatment to soften for drilling and hardening for holding some shapes or springiness . Also tin can metal for varmint resistant vents an walls . Curl thin metal under , hammer flat or frame to prevent cuts .
It's great to see Craig Phillips on the screen again. I've subscribed just for this reason. I'm hoping Handy Andy is also on here somewhere sharing video tutorials
Ran across this very informative video because I want to make this for my garden shed. This will be my first attempt. Hopefully I won't break a fingernail. I'm going in . . . . .
Looks like a great project, you just need to add a door stop to the door frame, so the door will stop when at the closed position, and won't keep going to the inside of the cabinet when you try to close the door.
you noticed that too, you must be an engineer, WTF, people on meth are like , dude , slow down, he's blazing through this like its an infomercial, and if you call in the next 10 min, well throw in an extra battery, but you gotta hurry , we only have 10 left folks, lol
Congratulations on the beautiful result. The video, besides being very explanatory, is a real class and simple and easy to understand. You have won one more follower here from Brazil. A big hug.
was looking for a small cabinet idea for the master bathroom made from pallet wood . i can customize you basic plans to suit our needs. Such as shorter door an open shelf above it. My creative juices are starting to flow .Thanks for basic idea time to go break down some pallets.
cracking video I am just starting out in woodworking and your easy to follow instructions makes me feel that I can have a bash at building this . Great Job.
videos like this show one thing I love. All those tool snobs who think I need to use festool or hilti tools because they are the dearest so the must be better. no you get conned if silverline released a new range of tools under a different name and put ridiculously high prices on them people would say wow they're really good b4 they tested them. The same mentality as all those people who believe the I phone is the best phone in the world, yet none of their phones have ever won best phone of the year, these days it's usually a Samsung that wins. people are Gullable to marketing tricks. on another note, I like Craigs presenting style, easy to understand. good job.
Thank you so much!!! I really want to learn to build things and this has helped me. Thanks for showing all the steps and not assuming that we know much! :) I wish I could buy a Silverline mitre saw here in the U.S. but I can't find them. Thanks again!
This was my first video I seen with your channel and was great! I have a huge pile of pallets to make stuff with. I need help with basic woodworking techniques...so thanks for making it seem easy enough for beginners to make stuff as well.
I've converted our spare room into a workshop, I think if I was single and had even a 1 bedroom flat I'd sleep in the sitting room and have a little workshop in the bedroom. Rest and play are very very important.x
That girl not yet. I am working on a kitchen island for my Jerky Shop so I can make jerky videos out there. I want to make these rustic cabinets for the wall behind me while I’m filming. Have you made a cabinet yet?
As much as I love your overall design and build, the only thing I differ with is on the face frame. For added strength and rigidity a ShipLap (or Half Lap) Joint would have been better in the corners than a Butt Joint. All in all great job.
I would of thought you would of shown people how to brace the door , because as you know its going to give because it will fold in on itself with only the hinges to stop it. However its a cool little box. I like it
Yes! I would love to see you build one of those secret doors that look like bookshelves. That would be awesome! @@SilverlineToolsTV Another thing I would love to see you build is a "HANGING DAYBED".

Good idea, great instructional! And, I can take this as a basis to construct something really useful for my particular need. How about a charging station for all those assorted portable electronics devices, as an example? Thanks for lighting the imaginative fire, Sir!

Top bloke indeed! Great video too

That is awesome! Send us some pics, we'd love to see your hard work
I love the natural weathered wood texture, looks vintage.
I have worked in professional cabinet shops and what you are doing is great,I want my new kitchen to be nice and not cost a million to build or look like it came out of the big box stores.
Thanks Walter!
Thank you... I do woodworking as a hobby and I used your video to make a cabinet from pallet wood. So thank you again
Awesome! Got any photos, we'd love to see your build. What's the next project?

Nice one, followed this and made a cabinet for my garage. My palets weren't as good as the ones in the video. But I m more that happy.
Thanks mate, I'm sure they look great!

I think Scousers should do all DIY demos, so easy to to follow nice one Craig I'll be using this Idea to make an indoor lekky meter box.
I agree! hahaha!
A coat of WoodKote would seal that and make it pop nicely. Well done for a great video instruction.
Absolutely! You can use any colour! Glad to hear you like the video

My boss bought a load of silverline tools a couple of years ago and seriously every bit as good as bosch Pro gear he bought the year before.

Great video, thanks Craig 👌
I've heard that one a few times!! Thanks for watching
Great video. Clear and concise.
Thanks for watching!
Love it what a rustic gavinet❤❤❤❤
When I was learning face frame construction, I was taught to always make the stiles longer than the rails.

Great video. Thank you so much. Very informative.

I am so excited about this. I would like to learn carpentry if I can at least get my hands on some used tools.
You can do it! And there are plenty more how to's on the channel
Craig that was like therapy, thanks lad!
Excellent tutorial. Will use it to make a rustic bar cabinet. Will tweak for bottle sizes. Thankyou
Great idea! Let us know how you get on. We'd love to see your build

Thanks for watching!
Craig's such a good fella. 👍

A great video & using basic tools that don’t nearly bankrupt u 🤣 been following your videos I’ve even bought a few silverline tools over yrs 👍
Amazing! Thanks
Awesome tutorial thank you. Really enjoyed it. Will be watching more now. Take care.
Thank you! Send us some pics if you give any builds a go, we'd love to see them 📷
I absolutely love that. I wish I had a place to do stuff like that. Love to work with wood. Beautiful
just do it, with little space u may not be able to use nice tools as he does, but you can definetely build things like that!
Janet Moor9pp
Thanks Janet!

Nice love it ! Thank you , I'll make my own cabinets but I'll use corugate metal on the doors
Good idea!
You sir have the most straight pallet boards i have ever seen lol
Michael Hindmarch yeah just miraculously ended up with jointed material with no nails. Nice pallets he has.
Proably didn't think the planer thicknesser was important to mention.
lol, i was thinking the same. alle my pallet wood is warped. even the ones that look straight, have a slight warp on it :-)
i rarely see any warped pallet wood around where i live. most of it is in the condition he has or better :P
Michael Hindmarch look out for euro pallets you will find them really good
Best diy videos on TH-cam today . Very professional explains steps loud and clear. Keep up the great work
Nick , australia
Thanks Nick, hope you enjoyed the video!
This is super helpful. Thank you.
So glad! Are you going to build one yourself?
There's no catch on the door. There's ALWAYS a catch!!!!!
As much as I love your overall design and build, the only thing I differ with is on the face frame. For added strength and rigidity a ShipLap (or Half Lap) Joint would have been better in the corners than a Butt Joint.
All in all great job.
Thanks, hope you enjoyed the video!
Nice looking Rustic Cabinet. But due to the height I would put at least one shelf for my storage needs. Thanks for sharing.......
Thanks
Fantastic now I can do my own cabinet. Thank you so much for your great video.
No problem, glad you enjoyed the video
Nice to see your using normal do the job tools!
Yes no problem! Breaking out the normal tools and having a go yourself is what its all about!
Nice to see you again Craig 👍😄
Great video well presented. I have two pallets and im now inspired. Cheers.
Great stuff Chris, hope the build went well!
Gracias amigo for such a wonderful video , I'm going to try to make one over the weekend !!!
Great little cabinet! For myself, I would ask to have that "z" on the door facing outside. More barn like. Love pallet designs!
I like what you are suggesting, but won't it get in the way of the hinges?
No problem, glad you enjoyed it!
You have a great video I think I'm going to try it your directions are easy to follow
Thanks! Hope the build turned out well!
Fantastic videos & tutorials. Great projects, thoroughly explained, affordable and useful! I'm hooked on pallet projects.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
I would of thought you would of shown people how to brace the door , because as you know its going to give because it will fold in on itself with only the hinges to stop it.
However its a cool little box. I like it
Yeah lots of people had suggested building a small trim which is a great idea! Thanks for watching
You are brilliant! Glad I found your channel! Greetings from Puerto Rico!
Welcome! Plenty more builds on the channel. Anything in particular you'd like to see built?
Yes! I would love to see you build one of those secret doors that look like bookshelves. That would be awesome! @@SilverlineToolsTV Another thing I would love to see you build is a "HANGING DAYBED".
Yes, a HANGING DAYBED, and one of those secret doors that look like a bookshelf@@SilverlineToolsTV

Nice , you have all new tools... looks great
Thanks!
Silver line tools have come a way from their old days. Those drills don't look to bad, they sound ok.
They all work great, perfect for the job
Nice job 👍
Two thumbs up!
Thank you
You guys have some pretty good looking pallet wood
Thanks! All depends on who you get it off and where you find it!
Great idea - easy to follow project - Thank you!
Thanks Mark!
Good video. No frills straightforward advice.. have subscribed

No problem, glad you enjoyed the video!
This time I will use stodoys instructions to make it.
Awesome instructions Sophia!
Who is Stoday? I need American dimensions
Nice and quick, Love pallet wood projects
Same here, I love them and I love the rustic look!
