    Thanks so much for doing these head to head comparisons. Nothing wrong with firstlite but it seems Sitka usually has a slight edge in most categories. And they should as they’re oftentimes twice the money.

    New subscriber, really appreciated you spotting scope showdown. Great review of these two popular jackets. As a new owner of the “Unpronouncable” 2.0 jacket, I thought I would add a couple feature I didn’t see in your review that I have appreciated. The silky inside fabric allows it to lay well over mid/base layers yet the cheek panels if the hood and the outer panels of the inside of the hand pockets are a soft fabric that feels nice on the face and back of cold hands if not wearing gloves. The hood also hood also has 2 standout feature for me. The back of the neck has a draft collar of sorts built in to fill the gap the often get created when a hood is not worn and pulls the back of the neck open. Most impressive though is the bungee system that not only has standard features but also has a halo cinch that actually attaches the hood to the crown of your head making it impossible to turn your face into the side of the hood. As a general hood hater, this is a game changer!

    How are the pockets?? shallow or deep and does one have more than the other? Thanks Gabe

      Great questions! I should have included that info in the video. Both have 2 nice deep pockets and both also have a small chest pocket as well (for you phone, calls etc). They are pretty much identical in the pockets they offer(both size and placement). Thanks for the question!

    Do you have a Jet Stream, and have tried layering the Kelvin underneath?

      I use the kelvin hoody and grinder hoody together and it’s crazy warm.......................I’ll wear the fanatic light set for stalking and kelvin jacket/pants if I stop or get cold and it’s unbelievable how well they work......stay out all day....can’t wear kelvin and walk around unless it below freezing.

    What layering did you use when it got into the 20’s and 30’s with the KLH? Great video

    • @BackwoodsPursuit
      @BackwoodsPursuit  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you and thanks for watching! Depending on activity level, I was using a Sitka Core Lightweight hoody and the Sitka Midweight quarter zip base layers under the KLH with moderate hiking activity. If sitting I added in a First Lite Furnace and that worked well. Obviously a lot of variables in how long you are sitting, wind, sun or shade etc. but that's a general idea.

    Great comparison! - I'm currently on the market for a new jacket so i was wondering, if you could choose only one jacket, which one would it be?
    Out of curiosity, Do you have any thoughts on the KUIU Kenai jacket?
    Thanks!

      Man, that's a tough one. They are both great jackets. The FL fit me better and is more compact, but I felt like the Sitka is a little more durable, quieter and warmer. I'd probably lean towards the Sitka all things being equal, but wouldn't fault anyone for going with the FL! I don't have any experience with the Kuiu gear. Sorry!

    great video. Thanks! I wish you would have packed them both down to show the difference. You said the Firstlite was a bit smaller packed down, but it would be nice to see. Im sure the Sitka could have been stuffed into something as an example..
