  • This video demonstrates how to conduct a two-way ANOVA (ANOVA: Two-Factor with Replication) using Excel 2016 Data Analysis Tools. The assumptions for two-way ANOVA are tested using histogram and boxplot graphs.

    Taking a break from Dr.Todd's analysis of crimes to Dr.Todd's analysis of variance is a breath of statistically significant fresh air.

    Dr. Grande- Your explanation in using excel for ANVOA was very helpful. This video is a great resource on when to understand the factors that are combined, and how to understand the normality with different groups. Thank you for making this clear and easy to understand.

    I found out late in my collegiate career that I enjoyed statistics and research. Therefore, this was exciting for me to watch. I am interested in the more complex statistical tests that I have not had much exposure to. This has a lot of factors combined, but was very clearly explained. Thank you!

    You do a great job. Best I have seen online. Many instructors talk too fast. I like your pace and thorough teaching methods. I am going to suggest Northeastern University IT class use you as a tutorial tool. Thanks!

    Great explanation, this 12 minute long video tied together over a days worth of fragmented knowledge gained from various web pages. Thanks

    Can Excel be used if sample sizes among the six groups are unequal?

    What post op test did you perform to see what the difference in score are for the columns

    So that would be a kind of mixed ANOVA, with both between-groups and within-groups factors. Am I wrong?

    Are two-way ANOVA with replication and two-way repeated measures ANOVA two names for the same thing?

    I confused the part interpreting the P-value because of setting up the H0. Below information help you understand better if you have the same problem.
    Ho(Null hypothesis) for ANOVA testing is always = No differences between means and the alternative hypothesis is there is at least one differences between the means. So;
    Ho= U1=U2=U3
    H1= Means are not equal
    Hope this helps.

    Hello Dr. Todd, I have been trying to learn how to preform an ANOVA analisis and your videos are great, however on my data set, every time I try to follow your instructions there is a mesagge saying "input range contain non numerical data". I dont know what to do, acording to the example from the video, actually the first column is a non numerical data so I am not sure how to fix my tables.
    I have another question, it is posible to analize more than one treatment and more than one sample with the ANOVA - two ways with replicates?

    Very nice video. Thanks a lot for posting it. Do you have anotherone explaining how the ANNOVA is performed when the variables are not independent? For example when you want to evaluate differences between two samples where results for different components are expressed as a porcentual distribution? Thank you very much in advance!

    Hi, Thank you for your tutorial ...I was wondering if we need to do the post hoc test for the result when we get the significant result in two way anova with replication...and how? Can you give some guidances using LSD or Tukey test for this..Thanks

    Hi, thanks for your tutorial. It is really good. I am wondering if we could do ANOVA with different sample size of each group. Let's say there are 15 samples both in your "Substance Use" group and "Depression" group, but there are 12 samples in "Trauma" group. Could we still do the two-way ANOVA with excel? Thanks!
