- Mountain running & flying on Schlenken. 550 meters uphill from Zillreith to Schlenken in 33 minutes. Instead of running down I used my Ultralight Flying Object (UFO) together with the Nova Montis harness :)
Music: Aftergold - Big Wild / aftergold
Glider: Air Design UFO 14
Harness: Nova Montis
Everything else from shoes to helmet: Salomon :)
Amazing man! Both the climb and the flight, very impressive.
Wow that wing just wants to fly!
+Quinton Brown even on mountains you haven't been thinking about launching a paraglidiger. Check out my new video th-cam.com/video/9WUHLP1S0cg/w-d-xo.html
They really did a great job at Air Design for this Ultralight Flying Object :)

Hi Philip, awesome video! I see you use the montis harness with a custom backpack. I'm currently interested in the Inverso backpack also from Nova, which couples with the Montis to make the 'Montis +'. If you tried it, i will like to hear what you think of it. Thanks!
+Maxi Padulo Hello! Thank you! Yes i use a custom running backpack, because it is smaller and better for running ;)
I tried the Montis+ (Montis + Inverso) for some hike an fly tours. It is a great backpack with lots of features. But when it comes to start preperation i am not a big fan of all these loops and ribbons. This things sum up for the carabiner (harness, loops from inverso, front-container, rescue). Therefor i prefer the Advance Easiness 1 or 2.
But when it comes to minimalistic equipment (big mountain hiking, mountain running or speedflying) the Montis is great! :)
+Maxi Padulo Hi Maxi, I have a Montis+ arriving mid April for summer hike n fly. Check back for a review. Hi Philip, Nice run, fly, video.. blue skies, Keith
Hey Keith, how was your experience?
Hi Maxi, The motis is good, comfortable and the pack fits a M 6kg Ion 3 wing. I've used in longer flights, 2 hours and good for weight shift and no pressure points. On long flights I miss a stirrup for extending my legs. The Dyneema straps are small but never pressure from them. Easy to get into. The screw links are very small and the opening did abrasion on the riser loops so replaced them with slightly larger Petzel screw links. The Inverso airbag is a bit weak, it does not inflate fully and tight, unlike the photos I saw.
Yeah nice video, i love it.
I dream to get ultralight wing and hike and fly.
Goodluck!
+A Gan hope you get one soon! :)
Hello Philip! I really like your videos! I am a long term mountaineer and looking to get into paragliding. Could you recommend this paraglider setup for a first glider and harness? I only want to paraglide on mountaineering hike and fly, and don't want a heavy glider! Thanks, Carl
Hello Carl! I'm glad you like my videos ;)
I would not recommend this paraglider setup for a first glider. It is very important to learn the basics with an EN-A oder (low) EN-B glider. Some of them are also available as light version. Your first flight should also be with an good protected harness, once you are good at launching and landing you could go with an light harness such as advance easiness 1 or 2, or Nova Montis (the one i use), there is also convertiable backpack available for protection, it's called Nova Montis+ (Montis + Inverto). I hope that information helps you
Regards, Phil
3,3 kg ???? meraviglioso !!!
i can even almost go lighter including a rescue parachute ;)
1.600 g glider (AirDesign UFO 14)
1.150 g rescue + container (Ultra Cross 100 + Skyman Frontcontainer)
370 g harness (Nova Montis)
360 g helmet (Salomon MTN lab Helmet)
86 g backbag (Salewa Vector UL 22)
Totoal: 3.566 g :D
f*lite and petzl sirocco, you save maybe 200 gr on harness and 200 on helmet!
yes thats true, there is still potential to save a few more grams ;)
but this is already a very good and light base ;)
Hi Phillip, extrem geniales Video!!
