Hi! Thank-you, I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
And thanks for your question :) I don't know how helpful it will be me saying how hard I found it, as it sort of depends on your individual situation - some people would probably find it easier and some would probably find it harder! It was also a little while ago now, so it's a bit hard to remember.
I will say though that (from what I can remember) the choreography in the Urdang jazz routine had 2 distinct sections - I think one that was more commercial, and one that was more technical, so there is hopefully more of a chance that there is something you feel comfortable with (and there was also the ballet section of the audition, if that's more what you prefer, plus I think there was possibly some improv in the jazz audition, maybe as part of/before/after the routine? And they might have done some technical jazz exercises in the jazz section too? Sorry, I can't fully remember!)
Also, try not to stress about the dance section, even if you feel less confident with dance! You never know what the panel is looking for - it might be they want more singer-actors for that year group anyway. If you are struggling with the steps, I'd suggest to try your best, ask questions if you get the chance, and give them as much performance as you can. If they do have an improv section, you can use that to your advantage to show what you can do in terms of performance and acting, or if there are some dance steps that you do feel confident with, you could show them those too/instead. Lastly, I'd suggest trying to enjoy it!
I know I didn't really answer your question, but I hope that helps! (Sorry I can't really remember everything now, hopefully I explained some of what was in the different dance sections with a bit more clarity in the video). And I hope your audition goes well! 😊

hey!! i know that it's been a while but for songs and monos what was the required length? with monos especially did they need to be a classical/contemp or both? x

Hi! Thanks so much for your question!
I'm afraid I can't remember what Urdang wanted specifically, sorry! Most schools asked for songs/monologues between 1-2 mins, or sometimes for songs they would ask for a number of bars, normally either 16 or 32 bars.
In terms of classical/contemporary monologues, I think it depended on the school. From what I can remember: some wanted one monologue, and some asked for two (and it might be worth having a back-up one in case anyway, just in case they ask if you have anything else); some were more specific on dates/time period, and some less so. I think I used a contemporary monologue mostly, but I did have a classical one, and I think some schools allowed you to do any monologue, so you could pick if you did a classical or a contemporary. I think it just varied depending on the school!
Sorry I can't be more helpful, it's just it was a while ago now! If it doesn't say on their website, you could always email the school to ask if they would be able to let you know. Hope your auditions go well!

Thank-you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed the video! And apologies for the late reply.
I can't actually remember right now what song the jazz routine was to for this audition! I'm sorry for not giving you an answer to your question. But I don't mind you asking me - I tend to ask a lot of questions of other people in day-to-day life. I may not always answer your question, but if you have any other things you want to ask me, please do feel free to let me know :)

What month were the auditions please

@accesibleforme5058 Hi! I think the year that I did my face to face audition for Urdang, it was in April, but I don't know how long their audition period was. I think that year that they might have had some maybe in March as well, and they could have had some in another or some other months, but I'm not sure - I'd suggest checking with the school if you'd like to know :)
