This has only happened to the biggest bands, such as King Crimson, Black Sabbath, even the coeval Iron perhaps, but Venom are growing, even Overkill and Voivod have placed 3 times in history, 3 superb albums in a row. Level never reached by the so-called Big Four.

Like I said they're just less political in metal look at thrash (Good thrash that is) you can here punk the clearest in early bands like Metallica,Slayer,Exodus,Megadeth etc. Also bands like Iron Maiden,Motörhead,Judas priest also have a very clear Punk sound to it. Punk is in fact the biggest influences on metal all together. If it wasn't for punk all metal bands would still play like Black Sabbath.

My favorite Venom song has to be "Evil in league with Satan" check it out but there are many good ones as well on par with this song
