  • Iva introduces you to your Instant Pot and all the basics on its parts and how to use it.
    Oh and one more important note that I left out, do not overfill your pot. Your should not be filled with food and liquid more than 1/2 full when pressure cooking beans, grains and rice (or “foamy” foods) and no more than 2/3 full for cooking anything else.

    TIP: Today I put leftover cornbread (from a couple days ago) that was dried out, into the Instant Pot in a steamer basket with 1 cup of water in the bottom of the vessel, and put on manual setting for zero minutes, and did a Q.R. The cornbread came out hot and moist just as if I had baked it fresh in the oven. I'm going to try this in future with bread, cake, etc.

    Hey, thanks for sharing. I've had mine for 2 years and just busted it out, haha! I try not to eat too many carbs so that's slightly the reason.

    The videos I have seen including this one mention a manual button, but my instant pot IP-DUO does not have a manual button. I’m wandering what button would be equivalent. On the bottom of my instant pot, my buttons are: slow cook, pressure level, keep warm, yogurt, sauté, delay start, cancel and pressure cook. Thanks for your help.

    I have so much trouble replacing the seal after washing. Do you remove the seal every time you wash it? Also, the small metal cover which is suppose to just snap off is nearly impossible to remove for cleaning. Any suggestions? Thank you for your video.

    • @theperfectbite1324
      @theperfectbite1324  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the lid doesn't get too dirty, I really just give it a quick rinse under the faucet and let it air dry. You do have to be a little careful when you put the seal back in that it's fully inserted properly. I don't remove it every time unless food/juices got on it. Same for the metal cover, I rarely take it off, only when it actually gets dirty. It kind of snaps off if you use your finger to tilt/push it sideways.

      DianebelongstoChrist Try popping your seal in the freezer- it shrinks slightly and fits easier. As for the small metal cover, use a jar lid gripper and push against the cover using your thumbs.

    Can you use the instant pot like a slow cooker too?

    • @theperfectbite1324
      @theperfectbite1324  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Carol Moore absolutely but you may not even use the slow cook function once you see how flavorful and tender pressure cooking makes your food.
