Thanks again, Steve, for another bright spot in my day. I don't cut the handle off the paint stick. It gives me a place to note the grit, 120, 220, etc.

I think I have a 1x2 scrap - I'm going to make one of these, tonight. If the bears don't get me. Bears have decided we have a nice neighborhood. Hopefully I can deter them with power tool noise. Wish me luck!

After mauling that over, I couldn't bear the thought of working in my shop with wild animals on the loose. What a grizzly sight I would be after barely escaping.

As a scroll saw user I would recommend starting with masking tape over the board before glueing the template on. After cutting the template out you can peel the tape and template off without any residue of problems. No heat gun required.

Hi Steve, thanks for making these daily videos! I watch them every day with my boys (9, 11 and 13). It's how we keep track of how many days we've been stuck at home.
I was wondering if you would be able to talk about a bit about Brad nailers vs. pin nailers. What their intended uses are. As well as cordless vs. compressor.
(I'm in the midst of making the writing desk you made so my son has place for books for his online classes. And although I could use clamps, for the banding a nailer would be much easier.)
Thanks for getting me in to woodworking!
Keep the videos coming! They keep us somewhat sane!

They look fab! Wanted to say a huge thanks from a UK fan for all of your videos so far, been watching for around a year so I haven’t seen everything you’ve put out but I have seen a fair few videos! Also thanks for mentioning 3D modelling so much, my accuracy and designs have improved massively since I design everything properly in sketchup. Looking forward to the next video 🤓

To solve the problem of getting the pattern off the blocks, but a layer of masking tape down first and then use the spray adhesive. Just peels off nicely. Not my idea. I've seen it used countless times before.

    • @ElectricLuvz

I don't know if this would help, but I too thought I was pretty rough with a jigsaw.. turns out, all I needed to do was change my blade from the one that came with it (which sucked). Bought an assorted jigsaw blade set and that made all the difference.

Thanks for tutorial. I teach a middle school woodshop class and the kids love making these. I have them layout the measurements, so it's a bit challenging, but they love the finished product. You make great videos. I really like how you show all the details and provide a template for this one.

Thank you for another uplifting video, Steve. This looks like a fun project almost anyone can attempt, even with only a jigsaw. I hope you're enjoying making these videos as much as we are watching them, and don't feel obliged to keep up the pace if you feel like a break. I'd like to think what we can do in return. I know some people have sent items to you, is there anything in particular you could do with, woodwork related or not, maybe from our locations that isn't readily available where you are? London, UK, in my case.

Those openings on the COG puzzle would be a snap with a mortising tool. Some are just a bit that works with a drill press. But they also make dedicated stand-alone mortising tools.

Well I made the puzzle tonight! Out of red oak! I used a band saw and a scroll saw and lots of sanding to get this square and true to get it to fit together when the sanding started so did the vodka tonics the most dangerous part of the project was finding my way to the shower to get rid of the saw dust🤣🛫

  • @Not_TVs_Frank

If you don't have spray adhesive, I found that a little wood glue made some sturdy sanding sticks. You just have to wait a few hours.

Hey @Steve Ramsey you have your weekend woodworker series for large projects but you should start one for smaller ones. You have said before that a scroll saw and bandsaw don't go along with that series but I figure there are a lot of people that would be interested in a series for small stuff/knick knacks. Here is an idea for the name. The weekend craft woodworker. I hope you see this and get some inspiration.
