How good is the Swiss Business Class 777-300ER? Join me as I fly from Zurich to Bangkok for this trip report.
I find the Swiss Zurich Lounges are superb, and the aircraft pleasant, but in Business Class, aisle access isn't guaranteed. After a broken seat and indifferent service, I wonder why I bothered.

My mother has just flown on a Swiss 777 and thought it was brilliant. She’d never flown business class before, so we researched the seats to give her the best possible experience without paying extra for a throne seat. The larger of the middle seats seem best. 15G was hers. She also said how brilliant the food and drink was and there was ample for a 13hr flight from Singapore.

Brillant ? You mean the flight was smart ?? Or do you mean the flight was very bright ? Stupid word choice that is used all the time in the UK, which doesnt make any sense...

I’m perplexed. I’ve flown LX and LH, the same company, countless times and just haven’t experienced indifferent service, but rather, the opposite. Someone leaving a glass on my table for 14 hours just doesn’t rank as a legitimate complaint, but rather a self-perpetuated annoyance. When the stewardess walks by, hand it to her. Jesus. I find the video quality and content first rate. But the editorial comments come across as endlessly whiny.

Great video and just love your style; so droll. By not complaining, you just prove that you are actually British and not Australian !

Another great one thanks - always enjoy your trip reports. Interesting ticket combo - did you just try different departure points to find it? Thx

Very entertaining trip report. You should explain how you found out the cheapest flight via Zurich. Would be very interested to hear about that.

You should have mentioned to the crew as soon as possible that you were offered an upgrade to First before boarding but declined and now you regret it and want to get that upgrade. They should have some way to relay your credit card details to the ground staff to process the upgrade.

I do love your trip reports. Although a strict real ale man myself, I do love the way you wade through the wine and cocktail lists. Swiss is now on my no fly list, but you should have complained on board and the backed it up with the email.
Years ago I was on an AA MD11 from ORD to LHR we had an engine fire on take off. Dumped in departures for hours with everything shut. Eventually a relief 767 arrived from Dallas and off we went. I was downgraded to cattle class when I got on board and told I should be grateful to be going to London at all. My bags arrived on a separate flight hours before I did and found them in a pile on the floor. I reported the airline to the FAA, complained and got travel vouchers for 3000 dollars.

I flu ZRH->BKK in about 3 times in business and once in First.
I always booked the seat 4A or 7A. These are the Bulkhead throne seats.
Every time I had a good flight. I didn't encounter any of the problem that
are mentioned here. As it is night flight I don't care so much for the ife.
1 Film during meal and then got to sleep and wake up over Myanmar.

Another very entertaining review - thank you! A very British response to being asked whether you'd enjoyed your flight though - I'm not sure I could have been so tactful especially to the attendant that had personally caused you frustration and affected your enjoyment of the flight. I hope you managed to get adequately compensated for a number of shortcomings. I personally find Swiss to be very hit & miss, especially in Business. Their First product is generally more consistent.

Going on the same route in summer with my son, and we chose the smaller forward bussines class cabin to avoid being served so late as you where.

The attendant probably thought you had been upgraded like the person who was supposed to be in the seat you sat!
However still does not excuse the lackluster treatment.

I'm kicking myself for not doing this now, but at the time I had a very Australian Stiff Upper Lip and just got on with it. Oh, and for the sake of the filming I didn't want to make too much fuss.

If I switched seats to accommodate someone who just got an upgrade (when I paid full price) I would demand free upgrade to first class since your seat did not work. I have one more trip to take on SWISS because I don’t like cabin layout in Business Class.

Man I would have expected so much more from Swiss - perhaps our friends at Lufthansa are passing on their own dreadful service and food standards to their one and only quality owned Airlines.

A very entertaining video but your experience on Swiss is not typical. Having flown in business on the 777 to Singapore and San Francisco and A330 to Mumbai during the last 6 months my experiences were far more positive. Comfy seats, good food and beverage and good service. I hope you give them another try and have an improved experience. And as for Air France, my experience is they have the worst long haul business class in Europe - assuming the bastards don‘t downgrade you first.

The 777 is a very old plane. I always try to avoid them if possible. Excellent video!!

    • @williamstivelman6314
      @williamstivelman6314 ปีที่แล้ว +1

The planes SWISS flies are not themselves old and the interiors are modern and updated. Yes the 777 dates back to about 1994-1995, but the SWISS planes themselves are contemporary in their features.
