"A fetch quest?" To be fair, when you get down to it 90% of Silent Hill puzzles are just glorified fetch quests, but you're fetching the keys you need themselves.
Plus, it's not the first time Silent Hill has done a direct fetch quest, with Jasper from SH4 wanting Chocolate Milk before he gives you the spade to progress.

I never minded pyramid head appearing in the game because from when I played silent hill 2 I assumed he just existed as part of the silent hill world as a punisher and executioner considering all the paintings and history pages about him in the game
That does add a neat facet to the Silent hill lore. Everyone who visits and gets subjected to the hell they face has their inner demons come out and join the ever growing tapestry of pain and misery that is the town. Even if they somehow escape and survive their pain becomes another tool for the town to use on future visitors
I mean, he is a punisher but only specific to James. Thats why you never see him in 3, 4, origins kinda had its own version with the butcher. That was his role in Silwnt hill tho from western developers. Fan service. But he really is only specific to James in 2

18:35 Not like Konami knows what to do with the franchise, their gameplan for this and Downpour was to make them cheap and hope they sell. That's why so many elements of both games are copying Silent Hil 2 since that game seems to get the most praise in the series.

One of the most popular theories is that he suffered from Peter Pan syndrome, which helped him a lot when it came to build his fantasies. But I think the mental disturbance depends only on how the player does things.

I will be grateful to Konami for my entire life to have just announced three new Silent Hill games, an other movie and an inteactive series, because, in this way, they won't leave you out of material for some couple of years more.
it is very much enforced. some folks have parents or grandparents that received a purple heart and wear the medal or a ribbon to commemorate their service. some folks are dicks and try to use it for attention and those are the people that should be reported. where i live, police are more likely to remove the shirt of a 12 yo girl just because it says POLICE on it, in walmart, at night, and detain her out front for everyone to look at her until her mother came to get her shirt back and get her daughter away from that cop. (yes, true story). since the stolen valor act is a federal offense, youre more likely to see the feds handle anyone suspected of violating that act. but it really depends on the who dun it. a 10yo most likely will not be prosecuted. a 16yo could be. anyone over 18 definitely will. one issue i have with it is the fact that we have army surplus stores (which.... why is there a surplus? and why are we giving military goods to civilians?) which makes it easier to impersonate a soldier. remember folks, ask for proper ID.

Over a freaking decade ago, I played that damn game and got the UFO ending. *WHY?* It was my first fukking playthrough. After that, I never replayed this game again. So at least, thanks to this video I got to see the "real ending."

Actually you'd have only to try 00-99, so that's 100 combinations for the X-ray code puzzle. You'd think it'd be half of 10,000 but every number you add increases the number space by a power of 10. 4 POS:10x10x10x10, 3 POS 10x10x10 2 POS 10x10 yadda yadda you get it
Believe it or not, your video actually had me take a look back at this game, and gain a new appreciation for it. You see, the game implies Alex was already born with a mental disturbance (which only got worse after losing Josh), but I think what mental disturbance is going to depend on how you play with him through out the game. It can be "Peter Pan syndrome" (Hospital ending), Anti-social disorder (Pyramid Head ending), or my condition, which is Asperger (Good and "Drown" endings). After all of this, I like to believe the canon ending is the "Drown". I don't think it was all a dream in that ending. I think a miracle was performed. One similar to when the original Goddess was born through the Man and the Woman's prayer.
You have a similar interpretation to the endings as I do. I mean I'm a fan of the 'smile' ending as it implies Josh didn't die which is nice since a child death is always tragic.
@@RABtoons is that the ending in which he and Elly hug each other ? I think in that ending he simply develops stockolm syndrome and starts believing it was all his fault, and all he could do was try to forgive his abusive family and move on.

@@RABtoons ah ! You mean the bonus scene. I think that's more of a flashback really. Or maybe his spirit coming down one last time. But then, if my belief in his return in this ending is little, why do I think he truly has returned to life in the "Drown" ending ? Remember how the original Goddess was born when two human beings amidst the darkness prayed to the Sun ? My theory, is that the story is somewhat of an exaggeration. I think what really happened, is that those two people fell in love with each other, the first humans to ever feel love, joy and hope in existance. As a result of introducing this new concept into reality, their daughter became a sort of avatar to this new principle, evolving from human to concept, thus becoming, by our definition, a God. Through out the game, Alex went through the exact same thing those humans went. Nothing but hate and pain. But when he chooses to spare his mother a painful end, it was not because he forgave her. It was because he owed her. If it wasn't for her and her father, Joshua, his greatest love in his life, would have never been born (not even his bond with Elle was that strong, given how they were apart for a while). He owed to at least give her a just and painless ending. That strong love and sense of justice was only felt by the city once. The Goddess and her parents. And so to reward his impartiality and immense love, his biggest wish was answered. His brother was returned to life. And just maybe, in the future, this child of hope and love might put an end to this legacy of bloodshed, thus redeeming the town.

This was why Iron Galaxy should stick with Killer Instinct, thank Gargos they didn't put Pyramid Head as a guest fighter in that too. General Raam was basically that niche.
Ah Homecoming, the game that had a few good monster designs, MULTIPLE monsters cribbed from the other games and the live action films, and what is probably one of the weakest stories in the series.

Believe it or not, your video actually had me take a look back at this game, and gain a new appreciation for it. You see, the game implies Alex was already born with a mental disturbance (which only got worse after losing Josh), but I think what mental disturbance is going to depend on how you play with him through out the game. It can be "Peter Pan syndrome" (Hospital ending), Anti-social disorder (Pyramid Head ending), or my condition, which is Asperger (Good and "Drown" endings).
After all of this, I like to believe the canon ending is the "Drown". I don't think it was all a dream in that ending. I think a miracle was performed. One similar to when the original Goddess was born through the Man and the Woman's prayer.
You have a similar interpretation to the endings as I do. I mean I'm a fan of the 'smile' ending as it implies Josh didn't die which is nice since a child death is always tragic.
@@RABtoons is that the ending in which he and Elly hug each other ? I think in that ending he simply develops stockolm syndrome and starts believing it was all his fault, and all he could do was try to forgive his abusive family and move on.

But then, if my belief in his return in this ending is little, why do I think he truly has returned to life in the "Drown" ending ? Remember how the original Goddess was born when two human beings amidst the darkness prayed to the Sun ? My theory, is that the story is somewhat of an exaggeration. I think what really happened, is that those two people fell in love with each other, the first humans to ever feel love, joy and hope in existance. As a result of introducing this new concept into reality, their daughter became a sort of avatar to this new principle, evolving from human to concept, thus becoming, by our definition, a God.
Through out the game, Alex went through the exact same thing those humans went. Nothing but hate and pain. But when he chooses to spare his mother a painful end, it was not because he forgave her. It was because he owed her. If it wasn't for her and her father, Joshua, his greatest love in his life, would have never been born (not even his bond with Elle was that strong, given how they were apart for a while). He owed to at least give her a just and painless ending. That strong love and sense of justice was only felt by the city once. The Goddess and her parents. And so to reward his impartiality and immense love, his biggest wish was answered. His brother was returned to life. And just maybe, in the future, this child of hope and love might put an end to this legacy of bloodshed, thus redeeming the town.
