Oh dear Wendy, what a sad memory and I always wonder how he would have gone on in the future. They were times for the music. We've got to focus on the positive things. Great to see you again..
Hello Alan, I always love a modest Alan with one l :-) very kind of you to encourage me. I had to have time off and I'm really getting full swing yet but I will be coming back very soon with lots of videos. I appreciate it what you said
HE DIED 1 MONTH AFTER ELVIS PRESLEY. WOW. When Elvis died, Marc Bolan said "I certainly hope I don't pop off in the next few weeks as I'll only get page 3 coverage." the house looks alot like Freddie Mercury's house Garden lodge that kinda style
I never connected the dates but that is really a little bit spooky with him saying that. And of course when Russell Harty ask what he would be doing when he was 60 He didn't think he lived that long.... A nice house but a noisy road. You need good double glazing :-)
Hi Alan it’s sandra not Peter just using his iPad very interesting as always a fantastic job what with the white swan His fans certainly keep,Marc’s memories alive such a young age. Alan you are so respectful to all the graves you visit you are truly a kindhearted human being and so very caring ❤ keep making the video’s I wonder where your motor home will take you next🤔 safe driving and keep smiling 😅😅 most of all keep beeping 👍Take good care 👋 for now Sandra
Hello Sue, you always make me feel calm... It's a nice handle name ☺️ big thank you. It's so lovely when people encourage it makes me want to do more films. Take care of yourself.
Hello Jacqueline, me too. Wouldn't it be great if you could go back to those times with A great wisdom!.... Well some wisdom. Let's not exaggerate. All the best, Alan
Thank you so much for this one Alan. I kinda hoped you'd do Marc Bolan. I was only about 8 years old when he died, but always loved his quirky lyrics and quirky style. God bless 💜
Hi Liesl isn't that kind of thing to say? Thank you 😊 I actually film this in November but I had to leave the channel for a while. You give me energy to carry on with your lovely comments. I really do appreciate it. Take care of yourself. Alan
I met Gloria shortly after Marc’s deaf, I lived nearby in Stoke Newington to Marc : life is so strange, I think I knew Marc but didn’t realise it at the time.
Hello Philip, that is really interesting I hope she was ok. It must have been terrible being the driver and then the result with their family life shattered. I hope she rebuilt her life.
It was really lovely Alan. I never knew about the statue by the tree where he died although sad. My sister bought the music and loved Marc Bolan she had posters everywhere. I remember the day he died it was 3 days, after my sisters birthday and she cried for days. We all loved his iconic music. Like you say Alan if he had lived longer there would have been so much more from Marc and his musiic his music lives on. Thank you for showing us Alan I love the way you tell about the artists life and there journey in such a beautiful way. R. I. E. P Marc Bolan. And his Mum and Dad ❤️🙏❤️
Hello Susan, how's sad for you sister? I know when people are young they think it's the end of the world when this kind of thing happens. I bet she woukd laugh about it herself now, but she'll always have a fondness for Marc. Before I went I in a small way didn't want to go to the crash location but I just thought that for people that have not seen it it would have interest and I admit that I found it interesting too. It was lovely to see the fans tributes all these years later. Super kind of here with your comment by the way 🙂 take care of yourself
Thank you Alan. Yes very sad. I have a, story that will make you smile my sister decided to put a Marc Bolan poster on her ceiling so she coukd see him looking up from her bed. So me and my brother helped. Early hours of the morning you guess what happened the poster came down she screamed woke the house up. Ne er to do that again. I will check your other resting place videos. It is lovely to remember and grateful to you to be able to show us 🙏❤️
Hi Alan I have been watching your videos for a while but never commented till today, my friend and I were really big Marc Bolan fans and I can still remember the feeling of devastation when we heard Marc had died, we went to gypsy Lane a year later to mourn his passing, the whole site was so different then, the tree was very badly marked from the crash a year on and very little to remember his passing, we pinned an electric warrior scarf and left flowers, its nice to see things are different now, I agree the statue could have been so much better, keep up the good work and thank you so much
Hi Ty what an interesting comment. I wondered what it looked like all those years ago. I think they took most of the tree down because it was dangerous so I presume it was only the stump. I always makes you wonder whether he would have survived if he had his seat belt on the fireman that rescued him didn't even recognise him. Isn't that sad. And then the horrible thieves broke into steely's guitars the day after. Unbelievable! Thank you ever so much for the comment. I'm glad you've watched some of my films. Kind of you. Alan
Hi Alan the ground was very raised, the tree stopped the car from running up the mound, so different then, I did have photos but these are long gone sorry to say, we also went to find his house and were surprised to think that this was the home of a pop star, our idol, the man of the music, we saw him live at Manchester apollo, the night was fantastic as you can imagine, funny how his lyrics were so prominent as one of his last songs had "summer is heaven in 77" in it, thanks again, kind regards ty
@@typhilpott5275 Ty I can imagine it's such a long time ago. The detail will be lost but it's wonderful of you to tell me about your trip. What was most important was you cared enough to go. I think you are a super fan much love to you, Alan
Great video. I actually visited the crash site three times when I lived In London. Took three buses each time! Very very disappointed with the statue. if it was going to be done wish it had been better. Alan keep doing what you do. Thank you
Hi Alan. Love what you do. I tried marc bolans jacket on years ago at hard rock cafe in London. I watched your Brian connolly video yesterday. He breaks my heart. Take care.
Hi Alan and thank you for yet another good tribute,I was also aged ten, when He passed away and being that young Marc Bolan and T-Rex were a bit before my time so I wasn't into them or any music until about 2 years later when I was into Ska music.Ride a white Swan though was/is a great song.I had seen a couple of different videos like this to Marc on other channels, but I think yours is better as you put in much more detail and the extra locations! I hadn't heard before what you said about pulling foxes from a tree, being in one of his songs, and the car reg being FOX! That is very eerie! But something you didn't mention was that Marc had said he thought or knew He wouldnt live to be 30 years old! Which is even more eerie! I think He tempted Fate there! R I.P Marc .
Hi Rodger, I know what you mean. We tend to get into the music when we're teenagers but when you get a bit older you flick back and see the great stuff that was before And this music was timeless. It's not dated now. I didn't know about in predicting he wouldn't get to 30. You're the second person to mention that if I hadn't done I would have put it in the video cuz that is very strange. I saw him on Russell Harties And he asked him what he would be doing when he was 60 and he said he didn't think he'd get too old age. So that's a second confirmation. I know what you mean about information. I tried to put in as much as I can but I'm also aware that I could make the films too long . Very eerie about the song.... But very encouraging to say you enjoyed my effort. Thank you. I'm planning lots more this year so I hope to see you again.
Nice Tribute to Marc.I remember seeing T-Rex on programs like "Midnight Special" and "In Concert"Today sings like "Bang A Gong" are staples on Classic Rock Stations.Thank You,Alan and Rest in Peace Mr.Bolan.
Lovely video Alan beautifully presented thankyou for visiting Marc botanical such a tragedy what happened to his baby died way too young he should still be here strutting his stuff thanks Alan for another great video take care you lovely man ❤️❤️❤️😊👍🏻
It is nice he is remembered with a memorial where he died. Was in my early 20’s at that time and so enjoyed his music. The ‘FOX’ reference is a little weird as you say. So sad to pass that young too. Alan excellent video as always.
Hi NM grandma, I think with it being such a tragic thing to go at such an age and in such a unnecessary way it's fitting for them to have them memorial. And it's super sad when he was only one mile from home. Never mind. Lovely to see you Alan
Another great one Alan. I really didn't realise just how long ago Marc Bolan died. I do remember the accident in the news at the time, but 1977 really doesn't seem that long ago ... until you work it out and then you are shocked at just how the years have quickly gone. Although sad, this video showed just how many fans still visit the site of the accident and the interment and it does look a really beautiful resting place. Thanks again Alan.
Hello Louise, I know when you look back it becomes a little bit scary. Doesn't it time's gone so quickly? That's why I think we've got to squeeze every minute of every hour of every day. Thank you for being so nice as to write. Regards, Alan
Elizabeth, I love that word commemorations. I have a thing If I don't know a word I have to look it up and that was lovely of you. I think I just love people all the different types and these are some of the great achievers so there's nothing not to like but it just feels sad sometimes obviously.... But then if you stand back you can see the pleasure and achievement which made their life something special. Thank you 😊
As always a great video and great to see you Alan. Lots of other people cremated there like syd James, Mike Pratt, yootha joyce,, Bernard bresslaw, barbara windsor etc
Hi Warriorvet Thank you for telling me I did know I'd research the place but it's very kind of you to take the time. I didn't know Mike Pratt. By the way, I think he's the guy from Randall and hopkirk. Look after yourself. Alan
My dear friends Fee and Kev Warner maintain the crash site/shrine. We did a Druid ceremony at Stonehenge to commemorate Marc with T.A.G members and some of the band (2007).Then on route to another venue we had a car crash , ending up in hospital.Fee collected me on release and put me up on their sofa...in front of me was the bent fender from Marc's car in which he crashed!!!
Hello Victoria, what an interesting story and a little bit strange and associated when you think about your crush. At least you came out of it. I wonder where they got the fender from? Maybe The car was broken up and sold in parts to fans wow! I hope you have got over it properly. Best regards, Alan
@@MotorHomeBeepBeep I believe Marc was with us in spirit and kept us safe , after all we had just honoured him at Stonehenge. Fee and Kev Warner maintain the shrine and run the TRex Action Group( TAG), that is why they have the fender in their home. What is even stranger is that we ended up in Brighton hospital , which is where I was living in 1977 when Marc died!! Thank you for your video.❤️🙏
Thank you Alan for a tremendous video Very well presented such a shame for a very talented Artists and how his life ended I think his music will live on for ever
Hello Karl it shows you have class when you can compliment and take the time. Thank you. In a short life he certainly made a big mark. It is such a shame
Thank you, tribal warrior I'm also where it's not a documentary. It's just a small video on TH-cam but I just try to get the important bit which is what happened and where it happened. Very kind of you to say.
Thankyou Alan.., this evokes many memories for me and I remember the TV news and newspapers at the time. I visited the site years ago when the tree was still there and found it emotional.. thanks for the hard work you do and put it to make these videos.
And equally Ray , thank you for taking the time to make that nice comment I appreciate greatly. I think, but I'm not totally sure that the tree was cut down just after the crash because it was unsafe but I could be wrong. Obviously there's only the stump there now which is covered by a barrel and it's a long time ago It' will have rotted. But it's a bittersweet place when you think about it in reality. But I'm glad I went and I'm pleased that people enjoyed. It will have brought your memories back which is nice ☺️
Janet, I just wanted to get the three locations in. I was thinking of putting more information but I think it can get too long and it's nice to see the importance bits. Glad you enjoyed! Thank you ever so much ❤️ bye-bye Alan
Hi Alan. I was working as a telephone engineer at the time and was working in thr Barnes area on the Saturday after the accident. The site was still being cleared and a police officer on duty informed me that Marc Bolan had unfortunately died in the accident. Some fans were already there leaving floral tributes a sad loss. R.I.P Marc.
Hello Fred, what an impact in memory. Obviously not the happiest but it is nice that the official fan site as reconstructed it as a shrine. Thank you for telling me it was Very interesting.
Nice, respectful video Alan, i visited Golders Green on a couple of occasions to show my respect to the late great Marc Bolan , although the bench wasnt there when i visited . Must go again some time soon !! All the best Alan
Really informative video, Alan, thank you. I was only 7 years old when Marc Bolan died but I am familiar with his music. I think the plaques placed at the site are wonderful❤️
Sheila, one of the best things about this channel is that people tell me things that you just didn't know. The plaques on the steps I was informed our members of the group that have passed away and that is why there is spaces for new plaques in the future. I thought the gaps were because they were stolen so that puts a lovely spin on that that I didn't realise. Much love to you!
Very interesting video in the sad death of Marc Bolan . I know the tree where the car crashed in Barnes and I used to live in the same road, Clarendon Gardens in Maida Vale in london, as where he had a flat; not at the same time as when I lived there he had already died , but often you would see fans take a look at the actual house. I think he lived in this road before moving to the house in Richmond at the time of his death which you filmed. He was taken so young , very sad, and at the height of his success. Thanks Alan for a very interesting and detailed video. ❤
What an interesting post. John and fancy you living down there. I think that the tree was cut down to the small stump after the accident because it was unsafe but I'm not totally sure about that. Anyway, it's become a very nice shrine due to the fans and either slight reservation about the visit because of the sad subject. But I was interesting and definitely worth a visit. It's a small world. We were treading the same places :-) Thank you for your personal memories on this one. Great stuff.
Hello again Alan, and thanks for another great vlog. Would love to go to these places you do, but owing to my car being side swiped not just by 1 but 3 vehicles few years back, has put me off driving. Thankfully l still work, so No major damage to me anyway. I wish you well, please stay safe, a UK fan.....
Hello Mary what a shame you've lost your confidence for driving I hope you can regain it one day I left your happy as you are thank you for the nice comments about the video Alan
So would I David? I haven't seen it for a while but I have got a large box of photographs so if I find it I will publish it. Won't keep it a secret. It just was a strange thing with him being the only one blurred in the shot and then of course some fortunately he died a few days later. I remember seeing him. His eyes looked sad and he just didn't look well because he wasn't. He left a fantastic body of work and had a great life. Thank you for your comment.
Have you been to Chippenham, Wiltshire the crash site, where Eddie Cochran died from a taxi travelling London, the motorway wasn't built by then for London etc, on Cochran's anniversary they have a band playing his music in the town centre a pub called The Flying Monk
Hello Ashley, I've actually been wanted to do that for some time, but thank you for pointing it out. I didn't know about the pub on the annual. Won't it be great to do it on that day? I'll have to look the date up now. Massive. Thank you for the suggestion though. Kind of you. Alan
been to that site a few times. The tree used to exist but now been cut down. I was aware of the lyrics containing the number plate but i am sure he also had a painting of a tree called September 16th or something. He also predicited he would not live till 30 and died a few weeks before.
Loved this one but I can't help wondering what the significance of the swans are, I don't know too much about him music I'm afraid. Thanks again Alan x

Hello David, Thank you for all the great comments. It was extremely sad but he is still an icon. Are we getting back into my swing with the films? Don't worry. Thank you. Kind of you to comment
This was really interesting. I obviously know who he is, but am not what you would call a "fan" . I have to agree about the bust, I don't think it really looks like him either, although it is very refreshing that in this day and age it is still there and in one piece. A really nice little area for fans to visit and pay their respects. Thanks for sharing this, it's been really informative. Great to see you back again 😊
You're right Karen, but if you look so the name plaques have been stolen which is ridiculous. I'm glad you found it of interest. It's kind of you to say I'm very kind to welcomeme back. Nice to see you. Alan
Still listen to T-REX today ... And you're right the statue is not really a true likeness i have seen it . However still a nice tribute the site is ....
Yes I want trying to cause a problem. I think the efforts of the groups fan club is fantastic. It's just a little shame that the statue didn't have a better likeness. And it looks like other people think the same but never mind the thought behind it was good

Great video again Alan 👍 Very odd about the song lyrics and the reg of the car.
Look forward to the next video 🙂
Hello Alan, I always love a modest Alan with one l :-) very kind of you to encourage me. I had to have time off and I'm really getting full swing yet but I will be coming back very soon with lots of videos. I appreciate it what you said
Nice one Alan....You're so respectful and genuine.x Thanks...
Hello Adrienne And so are you by taking the time to make the comment? That's lovely of you
HE DIED 1 MONTH AFTER ELVIS PRESLEY.
There was a famous French pop star that got electrocuted around the same time just cannot remember his name, very respectful video to a music legend.
@@proudman6598 Claude François, accidentally electrocuted in March 1978 at age 39.

Once again am excellent and compassionate tour Alan. Loved Marc Bolan's music. Thank you
Thank you very much Anita. That's kind of you. I did enjoy doing that one.he was such an exuberant star. Thank you, Alan
1977 was a triple hit year - Elvis in August, Marc in September & Charlie Chaplin in December. Another excellent, informative, respectful video

Thank you Alan for bring this one to us! Children of the Revolution is a favourite!

Thank you Alan I was a T Rex fan back in the day it's lovely to see he's still remembered by his fans a much loved man. Catch you next time 👏👏👏👏
Hi Jkk it was a pleasure. I'm so pleased that you found interest in it.
Thanks Alan, great to have you back, once again another great video
Hello Sue, you always make me feel calm... It's a nice handle name ☺️ big thank you. It's so lovely when people encourage it makes me want to do more films. Take care of yourself.
Thank you very much Alan! I was only a teenager when he passed. I was a fan whilst I was in school. Great memories. 😍 much appreciation. ❤Thank you. X
Hello Jacqueline, me too. Wouldn't it be great if you could go back to those times with A great wisdom!.... Well some wisdom. Let's not exaggerate. All the best, Alan
@@MotorHomeBeepBeep 😂 indeed!
Alan
Thanks for posting Alan . Very interesting mate . Cheers 😎👍

Thanks for the trip Alan. Always wanted to go and pay my respects but probably will never get there now. Thanks again from Canada 🍁
great enjoyed very much
I met Gloria shortly after Marc’s deaf, I lived nearby in Stoke Newington to Marc : life is so strange, I think I knew Marc but didn’t realise it at the time.
Hello Philip, that is really interesting I hope she was ok. It must have been terrible being the driver and then the result with their family life shattered. I hope she rebuilt her life.
@@MotorHomeBeepBeep yes, she had her arm plastered if I remember correctly, she has had a good career , I think in Northern soul music!

What an amazing video Alan. He was oh so loved by millions. I feel a real need to visit and sit on that gorgeous bench 🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷RIP beautiful man. Xxxxxx
I think you are a super fan much love to you, Alan
a fine tribute to a legend. I love your videos, very informative and very well presented
Thank you Simon. That super kind of you
Brilliant show again
Great video. I actually visited the crash site three times when I lived In London. Took three buses each time! Very very disappointed with the statue. if it was going to be done wish it had been better. Alan keep doing what you do. Thank you
Wow Kay so you've actually taken 9 bus rides off for the sake of Marc He would be honoured. Thank you for all the encouragement. You are a gem! Alan
Happy memories for you Robert. Thank you for the comment. Lovely mate

Crystal dance you are such a inspiration, much love to you.
@@MotorHomeBeepBeepI agree it is super sad. Anyway have a great weekend. Look forward to your next one.

Thank you, I noticed Keith Moon of The Who plaque next to Marc 2 giants in music sadly taken so young may they both rest in peace
I remember his death, such a loss, loved T.Rex.
Freaky how a few musicians died with freakily accurate lyrics inntheir songs. R.I.P 💗
The lyrics picking foxes from a tree was a bit eerie with the number plate. It was strange!
Thank you Alan 🙂😎

I will now. You told me Peter You've given me the incentive. Thank you ever so much Alan
Love this, like I love all your sincere, respectful commemorations of these remarkable lives, Alan.
Alan
thanks for putting this great video together for us to see from us both here in suffolk
It's great that you enjoyed it. Paul, Thank you for taking a moment to sell me. Take care of yourself
Thanks Alan for another visit and informative story, much respect to you for everything you do for your followers.

Very well done video. Perfect information for people who have never been there
Thank you, tribal warrior I'm also where it's not a documentary.
Hello from Brasil! Many thanks for yours videos.
Haroldo I never knew I went that far. Thank you ever so much for telling me very kind. See you soon. Alan

What's a pity, Steven, never mind I thought was there. Thank you, Alan
HI Alan love you videos would love to see the picture you took of bill owen just before he passed away
It's because one of his hits Trisha was called right away at swan 🦢 Thank you for commenting. It's sweet of you
Hi ALAN A GREAT VIDEO FROM YOU I WASN'T A FAN OF MARK BOLAND BUT IT WAS VERY SAD WHEN HE DIED SO YOUNG VERY BEST WISHES FROM DAVID HARTLEY CAN'T WAIT FOR YOUR NEXT CELEBRITY
