I got into these guys by mistake - I went to grab Black Country Communion and got confused. Now I'm into both of them! I've always kinda wondered about your thoughts on Collective Soul. Thanks, Pete!
Hi Brian, I was confusing band names at a record store, too, a few years ago when buying Dream Theater instead of Dream Syndicate. @Pete, how about doing a show on shopping fails like the ones above? Could be fun. Working title - Mistakes that broadened our horizons...
Thanks for reviewing this new album. Been a fan since their first one and planning on picking this one up. Looking forward to your review on AC/DC 's new album.
I bought the box set for 10.99 last Wednesday and have been hooked on the album Friday while going back home. I did buy 5 more from Wal-Mart, and this one was from a local store, but I listened to this once, and I had to listen to it again. I finished the whole list I had with my CD player case and just went back to this album until we got home. I then found a full album video on TH-cam, added it to my full album playlist, and played it on repeat while going to sleep. I already knew about "Again" and, of course, "Don't Break Me Down," but I love the album, and the cover is harder than the original, which I believe is what the song needed back in the 70s since the hardest band was Black Sabbath during that time. In my opinion, I might put this album as an album I would listen to until I die or just one of 10-20 that I would ultimately have if I needed to cut from my collection of 79 albums to listen to whenever I can't bring every album with me. Another is Aerosmith's new compilation album and The Beatles White Album.
I've been hooked on them since their first album was a free download on iTunes in 2006. They are the nicest most down to earth guys you'll meet. You can walk up to their tour bus after a show and they will take pictures and sign stuff and just chat and hang out with you. I saw them open for bad company and skynyrd in 2013 in Cincinnati. They are phenomenal live.
Funny you should mention Gov' Mule, I saw Black Stone Cherry open for The Mule in beautiful Bethlehem, Pa opening The Mule's Spring 2018 Tour. They did have a few fans in the audience, but I admit I had never heard of them, but they kept my attention and were very animated on stage. They rocked..
Great review. I have been a fan of BSC since the debut. I have always called them heavy metal Skyward. This album isn't as heavy as Magic Mountain, but is very consistant. Would be neat to see you do a ranking the albums vid on them.
Sorry for late comment, but yea I enjoy the album, it was odd to have a ELO cover, but it was good. I would call this band more of like Southern Metal or southern hard rock like Molly Hatchet, Blackfoot. Next up for me is to see them live when they come to a town near me!
Thanks for the review! Best new album of 2020 by a mile: "The Flaming Lips - American Head", especially for those that like their rock with an experimental/psych bent.
The song they had few years back , The Rambler . Geez what a beautiful southern ballad .. Played a pretty southern girl right out of her dress . They have moments , but in this genre , just listen to Blackberry Smoke or go buy early Black Crowe’s records .
Thanks for the heads up, Pete. Didn’t know they had a new album out. One of my favorite new bands. Great songs, vocals and musicianship! That cover song choice though ... BLEAH! My least favorite ELO song.
Pete, when you come on I really enjoy it. You're a damn good content creator and we all appreciate you!
Wow the first song knocked me on my ass. Thanks for always letting us discover more bands and music!
Thank you for your Review: Black Stone Cherry “ The Human Condition’.🎼🎤🎸🎵🥁

Underrated band, one of the true keepers of the flame of no nonsense hard rock.

They must be way more popular in the UK as they are an Arena band over here - seen them a few times, great show and enjoying the new album!
Them and alter Bridge are bigger over there than here in the US
Great record. Easily top 10 for 2020.

Really good band now comment on wofat and Texas Hippie Coalition if you can
Strange band for me. I absolutely love their first 2 albums but dislike everything after.
Chris and Ben can't carry Warren's chops in a dumptruck
True, but BSC are still a very good band.
