It's hilarious. So many people get way too concerned with it and forget that people all have different styles. Hunting with Matthew sounds way more fun than hunting with some of the keyboard killers on these threads.
When we're out hunting, it's pretty funny. Ever since he was old enough to hunt he has taken great pleasure in seeing me all wound up about a possible stalk. Off camera he's usually got a smirk, knowing he's pushed the buttons to get my blood pressure spiking.
Congratulations Mathew, you don't have any idea how much that hunt meant to your dad until you experience with your kids. Congratulations Randy, on a wonderful time with your son, and making memories that will last a lifetime.
What an awesome hunt Randy! Not the harvest of a great animal but, the fact you got to do it with Matthew! I cherish the times I got to spend with my dad in the field or on the lake. If I got lucky enough to draw a tag, I would plan my leave from the USAF and dad would start planning the hunt. Other times if it wasn't during a hunting season, we'd spend time on the lake fishing. Stuff that memory bank as full as you can!
This is a great example of what a father son hunt should be! It's more about the animal that gets you going then the points that it took to draw the tag...shot my smallest buck using a 10 point tag here in Colorado...my son was with n after a small buck blew our last opportunity to shoot a huge buck he stated ...dad I think we should take him...he'll eat good! So I did! Best hunt ever!
As I mentioned on your Fresh Tracks + app when I watched this series, I am so happy to get another father and son hunt with you and Mathew. I know that you tried last year for a Rosie hunt in Oregon, but the smoke was so bad it was not easy to navigate. I too love these moments and memories. I want to take my Dad out for a pronghorn hunt, even though he doesn't have any points in Wyoming and I have 4. Congrats to you both on a great hunt and pronghorn buck.
It's about the hunt! This is a great example of that. And since I am a father of adult children, who can only occasionally hunt with me, it was a vicarious experience. Thanks.
Excellent video series Randy and Matt.. well done. Thanks for all you guys do, I think it's fair to say that the hunting torch has been passed to Matthew.
Awesome video randy, Matthew congratulations on a awesome buck. Randy your 100% correct when you said this is heaven on earth. Some of my most memorable memories have been hunting with my family growing up and time with my daughter and son.
That’s a very nice pronghorn I have one that could very easily top that from South Eastern Oregon. Let me know if you would like to see it. Love your show awesomeness
www.caribougear.com/collections/hunters-tarps it's a great pice of kit once we have an animal down, especially is dusty landscapes. Use promo code - RANDY if you decide you want one! Thanks for the kind words and watching!
what's a good zone for a diy first timer to apply for?? I just bought my 1st preference point and am coming out to scout/look around in august. I wont even try to draw for a couple years but want to start the process and learn some areas. And do a little trout fishing while I am at it.
@@Fresh_Tracks that's awesome thanks for the reply! I was field dressing mine this year in Colorado without something like that fighting the dirt 😆. I know it's done all the time without stuff like this but I'm sure it makes it much more convenient and keeps the meat a bit cleaner.
After waiting for 14 years to get the tag, he (and I) wanted to spend more time hunting together doing something we love and something our family cherishes - hunting.
That buck was looking at Randy and saying that is the oldest looking man I've ever seen!! Lol.
Hahaha
You're not wrong.
@Randy Newberg, Hunter haha just giving you a hard time. love the show been watching for years thanks and keep up the good work!
I like the fact that Mathew is so even keeled on these hunts that it totally rubs so many people the wrong way.

Totally unflappable, calm under pressure, and still capable to make the shot when it came. Things that any father would be proud of.
Great hunt. Thanks for sharing. As I watched, I relived many a day stalking speed goats in the great state of Wyo. Thanks again
Congratulations Mathew, you don't have any idea how much that hunt meant to your dad until you experience with your kids. Congratulations Randy, on a wonderful time with your son, and making memories that will last a lifetime.
And that’s how it’s done!!!! Good shooting and a nice goat to boot 😀👍👍
Thanks for watching!

Gotta love when they drop right in the road!
Congrats to both of you. It don't get much better than that. Time spent father and son is truly priceless. Beautiful buck Mathew.
Thanks 👍
Great video guys congratulations on a great buck Mathew. Well done and keep up the good work 👍
Thanks for watching!
Well done Mathew hard work pays off enjoy it that's why we do it good on yous

Great shot Mathew! Great buck!
Congrats on a nice buck, I was starting to wonder if you forgot your ammo on the first three days and didn't want to tell randy 😆
The “Pearly Tips”. Great patience and shooting, Matthew.
Great shooting. What a fun hunt. Congrats, well done.
Congrats! Enjoyed the series ... great to see Father's and Son's out hunting together.
Congratulations Matthew on an old warrior that was near his end anyway. Great to see you and your Dad spent quality time in the outdoors together.

Congrats Mathew great buck, great hunt you got to spend all that precious time with your dad hunting nothing better
Good times were had !
Congratulations Matthew very nice buck , Randy did you ever figure out why he was limping . Great hunt thank you 🙂
We did not. He could run without a limp, but when he walked it was very noticeable. We looked and found nothing unusual.
@@Fresh_Tracks ah you got a joker LOL.just like a mother grouse leading you away from her chicks .lol
Good deal!!! Seems like a great young man. Congratulations
Nice job on your buck
It seemed the other buck was bigger? Maybe more mass?
Nice Shot and Congratulations. You were very lucky to smell the Sage.
That was an awesome buck and a perfect shot.
Good times were had! Thanks for watching!
Thats a great buck. 👍
Good job. Congratulations!
Great video Great hunt, great job congrats!
Beautiful buck!
I think so too!
Great job guys!!

What's the 411 on that snazzy tarp? Beautiful buck and an awesome experience.

Awesome hunt! What tarp were y'all using at the end to put the antelope on?
Made by Caribou Gear. Called a Hunter's Tarp - www.caribougear.com/products/hunters-tarp-by-caribou-gear

Who makes the tarp you used to gut and gill on?
Caribou Gear
How long ago was the hunt most everywhere seems like has snow now
This was from October 2022!
nice job! what caliber and bullet did you guys use?
It’s either going to be a 7-08 or 308 because that’s what calibers the Randy Newberg rifle comes in!
Actually a 142 grain NOSLER Accubond LR in 6.5 PRC . We have been using these a lot this year and they are tack drivers!
@@Fresh_Tracks Thank you! I have been considering a 6.5PRC. honestly it seems like its the modern era 270 Winchester.
What did he tape out at?
Wonder why it was limping?
He is probably about 70 in antelope years! When you hit 70 you won’t need to ask the questions anymore 🤔😳😂
matthew get excited about anything?
When he's fishing or waterfowl hunting, his excitement level gets about like mine when I'm pronghorn hunting.
Anyone know what the tarp is that they are cleaning it on?
Hey! It's the "hunters tarp" buy Caribou Game Bags! Use Promo Code- RANDY to save some $$$$ www.caribougear.com/collections/hunters-tarps
Randy good thing Matt didn't shot the first one or two that you thought he should have. That's a very nice goat
Agree. Sometimes his deliberate methods are more successful than mine.
Is this a Baggs tag? :)
Nope.
What rifle and caliber ?
It’s either going to be a 7-08 or 308 because that’s what calibers the Randy Newberg rifle comes in!
www.howausa.com/rifles/hs-precision/ in 6.5 PRC. 142 grain NOSLER Accubond Long Range was the bullet!
@@Fresh_Tracks Thank you !
The other one was bigger. Never take Uncle Randy with you next time!!
Nice antelope. Perfect shot. Congratulations
Nice to see such population size. Wolves and bears are stiff competition north of 49.
First like a ford
Your life's accomplishment
@@elkhunter76 no!! Doing your mom was period
If you think ford is first you need to get out a little more!🤔😳😂
14:22 - if you don’t care about size why didn’t you shoot the first one!
