Many years ago when I was taking classes in pastel painting, the instructor surprised us with a “limited time, limited palette” session. We could choose ten colors to work with, and I think the timeframe was 20 minutes (not very long for a painting). I was sure I would flop, but to my surprise I did the best work of my life. If I remember correctly, there was enough time for four 20-minute sessions, and I ended up with four beautiful paintings. I think it’s because the ticking clock forced me to get out of my own way. No time to intellectualize or agonize over my next step, had to work on instinct and quick eye work. It was very scary and kind of exhilarating at the same time.

I have a small journal I use and find myself overwhelmed where to start and these tips to get yourself organized and a timer I think it will help not be so focused at what to do but get you moving. “Let’s just make art!” Also, I come back to your channel because in addition to great art your laughter is wonderful and just automatically brings happiness. 😊

Thank you for showing the simple way you sort colors! Warm(reds, purples, oranges),cool(blues, greens)and neutrals(black, white, bronzes, metallics). And those further broken down to a drawer, a box, and an envelope. I have been going crazy trying to sort my papers by color🤪

I love gelli printing, but am not good at collage. Learning that. I am primarily a digital artist so I use all my mixed media in my digital work, which I am comfortable with. Love you channel an am learning a lot

Great collages! I really like the idea of making smaller pieces at a time, Im thinking of it as a 'reverse masterboard' 😂 Make smaller pieces than consider using them for a larger one, or not! 😊
Because of you I bought the citrus product for collage dissolve/ distress at Amazon (they took forever to delivery it.). I had National Geographic from hubby downstairs . I love your class at skillshare… well did not get the same result as yours. But I found you on TH-camr and love watching you, I relax and get my mind off the engineer life (day job). ❤ Thank you
Oh yes, I had many years of having to take everything to the dining room table and put it all away again. Yes, it did cause me to put off creating quite a lot. Now I have half an office, and I remind myself of when I didn't have anywhere permanent. It would be nice to have the whole room to myself, but I'm still grateful for what I have.
I am going to try this. I love the fibers so much. That one looking like a ladder. Spent all day collecting peices for 4 . . That wrap is just paint scribbles? Reminds me some of the style from magnolia pearl.
