A little insight into my speedrun attempt in 2018 with DireWolves. We originally considered subbing in our diamond 4 team owner as the jungler since riot was slow to approve me for play, but they decided having a diamond 4 player would be too overpowered for the speedrun category and allowed me to compete with short notice. Crazy insight to our team, some players were actually on the wrong page and tried to win vs EDG thankfully i gave baron to clearlove for them to secure the win 👍

I think it's really important that more teams realise that the Swiss stage is as fine a place as any to conduct their Airport Any% run, and it's not merely restricted to the play-ins stage, and in fact might be a stronger contender to go 0-4 in games and 0-3 in series due to the potentially much stronger teams one could be matched up against. going 0-1 twice against strong teams could gain a lot of time that could then be put to use in going 0-2 against weaker teams. of course, it could also be a much more volatile stage due to the RNG involved in the draw, and a single bad draw could spell the end for an aspiring run. but I have no doubt that teams will continue to adapt and find creative strategies to mitigate the effects of higher RNG and volatility, and in a few years time we might have a world record coming from a Swiss stage Airport Any% run.
