Just bought this as my first 3d printer, the assembly wasn't hard but your advice here was invaluable since the manual left so many important things unmentioned. Thank you!
hi just found this video and im looking into starting with 3d printing how is the printer after using it for some time in terms of beginner friendliness and quality
@@Sharpzeeis fine, but if you are really super beginner -0% skill then you can look for a Elegoo Neptune 3 pro (you can also wait for the Neptune 4 that is going to be avaible very soon) or the Anycubic Kobra 2, those two are the most modern beginner 0% skilled user friendly, you can also look at the Bambu X1C but only if you can pay it.
What you're looking for is what Omega said, OR get the Bambu Labs P1P for 700$. Probably the best price to capabilities 3D printer out there.
Me to I just got my artilery sidewinder and not gonna lie the video was necessary for me lol
I found the following settings best: 220 degrees extruder 65 degrees bed a light coat of hairspray. And DONT FORGET .To enable compensation for auto-leveling, add M420 S1 Z10 after
G28 in starting Gcode.
I was putting my sidewinder x2 together today- they've changed the assembly of the spool holder slightly from shown in this video, which threw me at first as I thought I had some parts missing! Turned out it was just I had the out-of-date instruction manual. The manual on their website was up to date and showed me how to put it together.
Thank you for this comment. I thought I was crazy!!
THANK YOU! I was typing up a support ticket about missing pieces when I decided to check the comments lol
Same here; took me a couple minutes to realize I had the updated redesign....lol
Me too! I was so upset thinking that I was missing those two silver tubes. I contacted Artillery support on Facebook Messenger, he sends me a video of a German guy speaking German (which I do not understand), but while watching it I figured it out. I told Artillery they should make their own video showing the update instead of wasting people's time like that. They said the updated manual did not get put in the box. What a true PITA that was! lol
Haha same thing happened to me too, luckily I fiddled with it and figured it out before emailing support. Glad to know I wasn’t the only one who was confused😂
The many hours you've saved people are countless. Thanks from Australia and all the 3d printing n00bs!
This video was so thorough, clear, but also relatively concise for what it showed. Saved me a ton of trouble, thanks.
I watched his Ender-3 video a few weeks ago... it was INSANELY good and helped me get my Neo setup way more than any other channel.
Thanks for the detailed instructions on assembly, it was a breeze to put mine together and start right away! Awesome guide and video.
I bought this a month back. Had some clogging issues form the beginning and my prints typically don't adhere well to the bed. It's all probably my fault tbh but I had the extruding gear break during a print and went through a week of back and forth to get new parts from the company. After I fixed the extruder, it runs fine. It is a very solid printer for the price and I will say probably better than most at the same price level.
It's insane how knowledgeable you area on this stuff.
Thank you for the video. I just bought a sidewinder x2 and I need to pull it out of the box and set it up. This is my first 3d printer. Thanks
How do you like your first printer ? I’m considering it for Black Friday sale
@@triplethreat9168 Did you get it? Im strongly considering getting one but very nervous being my firsat printer
Thank you! I just got the Sidewinder X2 yesterday and this video was very useful! Thanks!
Did you manage to find the perfect settings for the swx2 on cura?
Mine arrived last week. I'll be setting it up this week for some fun. My first 3d printer.
5mm retraction on a direct drive?should be arround 1-3 mm
What do you think was causing the stringing?
Excellent video! Helped me a lot with both adjusting the tension on the roller wheels and leveling. Thank you! :D
Hi, I'm looking for the stl of the yellow tower you printed at 0:54. Thank you very much in advance for your attention and for the accurate review of course! ;-)
www.thingiverse.com/thing:2647041
I have the X1 - look like they addressed all the problems.
Better connectors for the ribbons (endless problems on the X1)
Improved reel holder (was 2 hex bolts at the rear, with ball races, so you had to adjust it for each change of reel width)
Bed power no longer sticks way out the back, making it very deep.
Auto levelling!
Z probe instead of a limit switch- which sometimes does not get the height correct.
Makes it a much better printer
Retraction needs to be at 1.5 mm
Thanks for this. Mine just arrived today and the curved exhaust tube snapped off, luckily it was a two piece component anyway, so it looks like it can just be super glued back on. I'm looking forward to using this printer!
why they insist placing the filament roll on the top? center of gravity is high and could affect the final printed product?
hey really finding your video useful, they should hire you to make official manual in video form!
one question: i didnt see you add in the gcode in cura for making use of the auto leveling bed? in the manual it says to add "M420 S1 Z10" after G28 in the slicer.
is this necessary? wont omitting this coding completly negate any information gathered by the auto bed leveling?
sorry if i missed. you are amazing.
Cheers Vlad My Anet ET4 just stopped working so I'm getting a new printer , looking for a larger platform saw this in an online catalogue and thought of your channel, your review just sold me on it. Thanks:-)
Do not throw away the filament! Use a desiccator like Camp-Dry and a container that can accommodate the spool; the filament may have soaked up a lot of moisture.
Tried drying out for extended periods with no luck. Instead of tossing it I will use it for crude modeling.
My experience with direct drive is to use a 1.5 - 2.5 retraction setting. Can anyone else confirm that Vlad retraction settings seem much too high? Bowden tube levels of retraction seemingly...
As a direct drive user , mine is 0.8 which is for my ender s1 pro , I bought a x2 today so I'm gonna try that aswell but I'll find out when it arrives
Just got one, very easy to setup and print from FreeCAD to Cura to the printer, but i have such a dumb question, HOW TO TURN IT OFF ? i killed the big switch at the back, but its still on !!! LOL
That intro was amazing!!!
Thank you for this exceptional video. Much appreciated.
Wow! Fantastic video. I got to save this because I'm getting this X2.
Best exaplanation
What would you prefer between this and a Cr10s pro v2?
Turn down the hotend temp. PLA at 210 is mych too hot. 190-200 is about the right spot. Less stringing. Less pock marks in the prints
謝謝!
I'm stuck at part 1. I am missing 2 screws for the spool holder. Great job Artillery :(
There is no screws the picture is misleading
i dont think i have the metal parts for the spool holder. didnt know about them till i saw your video..
You didn't show how you got the rest of that print off the bed the little circle I just printed the sample cube and I could barely get it off now I have that little square line stuck to my bed how do I remove it from the bed I'm stumped and don't want to scratch it anymore than I already have with my spatula
I've been looking at this for my foray into 3D printing and this video really helped clarify things for me. Appreciated. So many options out there it is very daunting to jump in. What would you recommend for software to go with this printer for a beginner?
Idk if 1 hour and thirty minutes is fast or not for a benchy but I’m slinging them out just under a hour with better quality, I’m looking for another printer that isn’t a delta because I want a direct drive extruder so I can print with TPUs. Granted I probably can with my Boden extruder I just haven’t tried it yet
7:13 I don't feel the bed jump when I push manually but my print (especially the flat ones) have a horizontal ripple pattern (but not because of overextruding) . Any ideas?
My filament does not attach to the center of the bed but is fine on the edges. Can the bed be bent?
the travel speed isn't showing up. How can I see the speed with this?
QUESTION.. do both the X-1 and X-2 have 4 stepper drivers that are plug in ? So if you have a layer shifting problem do you need to replace all 4 at the same time.. Because you wont really know which one of the 4 drivers is causing your intermittent problem of layer shifting.
I always had retraction between 1 / 1.5 for direct drive. Are you going the wrong way going 3 to 5?
Yes hes wrong.
At trying to level the bed and it doesn’t seem like the leveling knobs make any sort of difference? The nozzle grabs the paper and I cannot slide it around no matter how loose or tight the leveling knob is
@Just Vlad is it normal for the extruder arm the part with the extruder on it if you grab the arm and twist is back and forth should it move mine moves does this need fixing if so how do I fix it I also have a ghosting issue on details such as holes text and other shapes how do I fix that this is a new 3D printer it’s been one thing after another
Hey great review. Would you recommend the X2 or the Ender 3 Max neo?
Great video as always. Can you put a link to the Test files you use? I would like to use them as well.
Do you have a video for the anycubic vyper 3d printer? I was looking for it in your video section but I can not seem to find a video. I also have the artillery sidewinder v2 and in your video about the printer when you were setting it up in cura 4
5.1 was what I need for anycubic vyper
3:51 1GB?
yes its just 1gb
very very gooood, thaaankss maan
When i home the plate it goes to the center like yours, but then when i want it to go to the corner it goes to the right and completely off the plate, then down and tries to keep going even though it is already at the bottom. can anyone help with this?
14:07 mine are so tight that it ripped the threads off the screw
All those bubbles are many times because of the Shit quality USB stick, if you use one that is quicker or you disable the "power down safe mode" which writes to the USB to save the position of the printer it will print almost perfectly
which 3d printer would you recommend as the first 3d printer? for hobbies.
Thanks for such an informative video.
looks way better than my ender 3
I think I.ve watched all your 3d printers reviews for the past couple of months and im now really looking to get one myself. The thing is I need a big bed like this but I just cant find any videos on how it performs with PETG or ABS since those two would be my main filaments (I need functional parts). How does this one perform? CR10 V3 would be a second choice but aparently not much info on how it prints abs/petg either... bummer
Did you find an answer? I just purchased this printer
@@terriblelottery I saw your comment late, sorry. I ended up getting the Ender 5 Plus
I print benchys in around 51 min , on a creality s1 pro... stock.
Can't Imagine waiting 3 hours for a fkin benchy lol
what is your minimum extrusion distance withdrawal? mine was 10 by default and it was highlighted in orange
Hi man, awesome videos. I am between the Artillery Sidewinder X2 and the Creality Ender 3 S1 pro. Which one would you recommend? This will be my 1st 3d printer.
Thanks for the work and information you put out. Could you tell me which filaments you used on your red frog, the spaceman and your rocket much appreciated. Great video I am still undecided which 3D printer I will go for but this is one to consider. Thanks again.
Thank you for the video , can i print own models ?
This is so cool 😊! .. so fun to watch
42:40 Snaggle-tooth shark! 😆
Any concerns if the Z axis bearing supports in that upper plastic arm will quickly wear out? And how is Artillery's customer support?
The amount they turn they'll last basically for ever.
You get the same type of bearings in motors which see more action in 5 minutes that these will get in years.
I got some weird bulging on the bottom solid layer, I tried to set the z offset way too far but the bulging is still there
Same here. Did you get it resolved?
Thanks for this video! Exactly what I was looking for. :-)
A nice premium feel. Hehe. 😄😄😄
mine prints its first layer WAY to high and I cant figure out how to change it
He explained it in the video
Thanks for the vid! did you ever find the perfect cura settings?
There is no singular perfect cura setting it mostly depends on what your printing.
Mine didn’t come with a test model
great review !\

Take a shot every time he says "so yeah"
Awesome video. What filaments does the printer take?
Also what is your top recommended 3D printer for a newbie? Thx!!
This printer is probably the best for newbies although it has some minor problems which could be easily fixed. These printers are capable of using any filament. I would recommend Pla if youre printing indoor.
@@ultimategamer3212 thanks a lot for your replu
Pretty sure the thumb drive says 1gb
Lol
Whats the point of 400mm in Z if it fails. This is symptomatic of revues. Pick out the good bits and gloss over the junk. Makes my first 3D printer choice real headachy. jeez 😳 .... 🇬🇧
❤️❤️
brother man your video is good information but you talking to much and to fast
My sidewinders print at 150mm/s+..... Lol
🔥💕😍👌👍
can it print ghost guns
you print very bad, ı open and directly give print and resukt is exellent
Why is everyone printing those god damn useless baby toys???😮
