Ummmm..they did. It was called SMASH...but it was a TV show. Now....if you're talking about "BOMBSHELL", the musical (within the musical SMASH)...it's heading to Broadway soon...
@@axelkyster2642 actually bombshell isnt coming to broadway, but smash the musical is!! theyre turning the tv show itself and its storyline into a musical but not the musical made within the show. its weird but im very interested lmao
I originally only watched this cause of the hot men with nice bodies being in their underwear, but the dong was actually really nice and fun, and i loved the choreography!
It's from the fictional musical, Bombshell. In the early 2010s, a tv show called Smash aired on NBC. The show followed a theatre group making a new Broadway musical.
It was. It was in NBC and detailed the lives of writers, actors, dancers, producers, financiers, etc., of Broadway and Off-Broadway productions. It had an ensemble cast to die for, including the above Mr. Borle. The initial vehicle for production was an imaginary show entitled “Bombshell,” a musical biography of Marilyn Monroe. The two main (& at times rivaling) actresses vying for the spot were Megan Hilty and Katherine McPhee. Anyhow, if you get a chance, WATCH! It only had two seasons, but it was phenomenal. It’s on Amazon Prime and Apple TV.
Yeah, the premise was that the characters are all involved in putting together a new musical about the life of Marilyn Monroe. Christian Borle's character, Tom Levitt, was the musical's composer, and Debra Messing played his partner, Julia Houston, who wrote the book and lyrics. The show went through the musical's production process from workshop to Broadway. There was a lot of really good original music throughout the show. This particular scene is one they "produced" for the musical, and is supposed to be one of the studio executives meeting with his employees (in a steam room, apparently as some kind of power play)
Okay while we all love this performance, we can all admit this felt WAYYY less energetic than the original version. Maybe he had done this for multiple days in a row and he was tired today but while the ensemble felt entirely choreographed and excited, Christian looked like he just wanted to go home 😭
it was the day after he won his second Tony. He was running on chugging coffee to deal with the hangover and lack of sleep. In the zoom reunion a few years later he described this concert as a 'one of the most happy and sureal moments of his life with everything coming together and a 'very beautiful, very difficult long day.'' He looks like he might pass out during some of the finale.
A short lived TV show from about 12 years ago. It was lively and fun drawing in a diverse audience because the show had something for everybody. It's a shame how the show wasn't given a good chance or moved to another network or cable to keep it going. I never until now saw anything about it again after it was removed.
