Love it! Thank you. Country ideas for next vid: Italy for Europe; Canada for North America; Surinam for South America; Japan for Asia. Question please, Paraguay’s motto you said it was something like libertad or death? I haven’t a degree in languages at all, but I took Spanish ( secondary school level) and in one of my tests I remember translating libertad like liberty and I got it wrong. Feedback was that it was freedom and that now is stuck in my head. Lolol actually my first word was liberation. Then I swapped to liberty… still wrong. 😅
Thank you for the awesome suggestions! Libertad deffo can mean either liberty or freedom. Liberty is the Latin translation and Freedom the Germanic but they mean the same thing. Your teacher was being super fussy!! 😕
@@WelshASMR82MapsIn my birthplace of New Hampshire, USA the motto is “Live Free or Die”. I’ve always felt the use of the active voice with “die” gives it a sense of unnerving intensity that the word “death” doesn’t quite capture. However, that does indeed represent the state’s general attitude well. Probably best illustrated by the absence of laws requiring one to wear a seatbelt in a car or a helmet on a motorcycle. In those cases it might actually be better stated as “Live Free AND Die”

Can you please please pleeease make a video talking about Georgia (the country)? I'm not Georgian myself but I'm so fascinated by this country, however it tends to be very mysterious, it's quite hard to find information about it. I'd be so happy if there's a section about it in this book 🙏🏻
As an American, the US is absolutely a hispanic country. (It's a country of many languages, ethnicities, and cultures but I'll be speaking on Spanish/hispanics for now) Spanish is ingrained in the culture, history, and everyday life of the United States. Obviously English is the dominant language here, but the Spanish language is just as American as English. You could make the comparison with Canada's languages. Spanish in the US is a lot like what French is in Canada. There are so many cities with Spanish names like Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Antonio, El Paso, etc, as of course much of the US formerly belonging to Mexico and/or Spain. There are many services for Spanish speaking Americans, for example, Doctors offices and government facilities offer services in both English and Spanish, grocery stores will have signs in spanish. And there are spanish radio stations and television channels for the Spanish speaking American audience. In terms of culture, the US has food from all over Latin America, Spanish music from US born Latinos, and art influenced by Latin America. Not to mention sports. (Side note as a football fan, the USMNT is a great representation of the United States. Black, white, hispanic, asian, we are all equally American) The US is such a diverse country and that's what makes it incredible. And there's no doubt Hispanic/Latinos are a huge part of this country. You can't tell the story of the US without telling the hispanic story. It will be interesting to see how the language dynamics in the US will evolve in the future as the numbers of Spanish speakers continue to grow. Interesting video as always!

Seems like a book not from the USA just from noticing how they spell it as "metre" instead of the US's "meter." Would love to see another video including Georgia!!
And the fact that they are using the meter at all instead of feet, or square miles for country area. I'm American, and I read a lot of geography books as a kid. Everything was always in feet and miles. Sometimes, metric units would be there in parentheses.
Your wedding (?) ring caught my eye and made me go back to make sure I didn't miss it previously (I don't get to watch ~every~ video)... And from what I can tell with a quick look, I didn't. I saw the mountain railway for Snowdon when I walked up it a couple of week ago. Very beautiful. I live in England but need to go to Wales more often, I also camped and stayed near the beautiful Bangor and Llanfairfechan coast. Very relaxing video like always.
I would love to see some of the less well-known countries in this book. I'm curious about places like Equitorial Guinea, or Eritrea, the countries we don't hear about in Western media at least. I feel like I only ever hear of these places in terms of territorial problems or global development indexes or this sort of depressing stuff... would be really cool to see what this book has to say!
