    I just ran a test with two layers of fences and much to my surprise not only did they block arrows... but completely absorbed all bullets, including explosive ammo. Nothing gets damaged when shooting through the rings. Meanwhile turrets can still fire and do damage from the inside. This has insane roof defense potential... I hope they don't patch this before I get to try it out next wipe 😅

    Thing is, putting frames around turrets sucks because it makes LOS points that anyone can exploit by keeping the frame between them and the turret. More frames compounds that problem. The best solution to prevent someone from grubbing turrets will still be more turrets I think. The way I see it if a single turret eats up 5minutes of anyone's time it's done its job. You're that much closer to being back online. An easy hbhf system that can be mass replicated would be huge to learn though.

    • @GameLightz
      @GameLightz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If you see the example in the video, and in all of my base builds, I always have 3-4 sets of turrets around the compound guarding each other, so it's no biggy.
      Much better than having some naked build up twig frames and destroy them I think.
      I'd build this 10 out of 10 times in wipe

    As always excellent video. I use the turrets behind doors with sensors and openers all the time. Sometimes I use garage door. Sometimes I use double door. Depends on the purpose. And you can have many doors as you want run off of one sensor. Also I use the old blocker trick to keep the door closed when the turret is out of ammo. Can't give away free guns.

    I am still pretty new to the game so i linger long hours over great videos like this. I just setup my first real auto-turret defences and was immediately raided a couple of hours later. Thing is though, people were coming and going to my base and just ignored my turrets. I placed them behind two chain link fences with good fields of fire. Lacking pythons i used SARs for the turrets, however when testing the damage naked, i took quite a while to kill me.
    I wonder if those fences reduces the damage a lot or if it's just because i use the SAR in the turrets.
    Thx for the videos, i love them! Keep em coming!

    • @GameLightz
      @GameLightz  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Fences don't reduce damage as far as I know, but turrets are a bit funny, and sar has very low damage already and shoots slow on turret.

    Oh the HBF sensors are lovely one wipe I had external TC's extend past my external walls and I had the doors facing inwards toward my base, added the HBF sensors in the grass so they couldn't be seen easily anyone that walked up to my wall would have the doors open and shoot them, also linked it to my alarms so it would send me a message and I had their direction marked so the notification on rust+ would tell me the direction of incoming enemies. I never got raided and pretty much all targets were just naked lol, to be fair everyone on the server knew what I did so they didn't really try it lol. Oh yeah also, use incendiary rounds and put a bolty in just incase raiders try to bait it open they get a nice good amount of health taken and severe bleeding

    • @GameLightz
      @GameLightz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Basically ALL of my bases are built around that concept: You get offlined, you continue like nothing much happened because of hidden loot and bunkers.

      You don't have a view to the sensors until you're in the base, and they can be concealed under rocks as I've shown.

    • @GameLightz

    • @GameLightz
      @GameLightz  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd rather use garage doors. Reason being:
      I just learned about an electric setup where the turrets are off so long as the door is closed. The turrets take a second to "boot up" so the garage door is kind of perfect :P
