Don't forget Jack's wife isn't a TH-camr. She's an ordinary person unrelated to the drama who's now worried about her safety. I think she made a social media post about it. This doesn't just affect Jack, it affects his family too.
She did. She mentioned that she has to go into work and talk to HR/security to let them know that this is a current problem they should be aware about in case anything happens to them.
The livestream of Jack and his friends gaming as they realize what's happening, "She's outside your house right now!! She's outside!!" was like a horror movie. If TH-cam does nothing, it will send a dangerous message.

7:38 FINALLY, SOMEONE POINTED THIS OUT. I keep on hearing "I think she genuinely thinks this is harmless", no she KNOWS what she's doing. She was a woman in the gaming space in the early 2010s, she went out of her way to wipe out her competition early on, and she formulated her content style alongside her now ex-husband. She's not "dumb", she is deliberately doing this.
Being a girl's girl means holding each other accountable too. Sssniperwolf was arrested previously for armed robbery like this is a woman who has shown that she's capable of violence.
I belive she has another charge for beating someone up 😬 she has a VERY violent history, but thinks she can "uwu I'm a lil guy" her way out of it. Infuriating.

Some of her followers have already started posting more images of his house with not so subtle threats toward him and his wife and dogs. Also her sister's reply on twitter was "What's wrong, doesnt he know how to fight?" So there goes their defense that there was no ill intent.

I knew another creator who was actually pretty small, who had to move since a “fan” found out where she lived. It was especially upsetting because she was a DIY interior design creator and had to leave the home she had put her blood sweat and tears into FOR YEARS just because she showed the outside of her home

People can just know their full name and the general area of where they live and sometimes if you even google a celebrities name their address, political affiliation, family members etc pops up. there's a doctor youtuber i follow that had a stalker for years, and she didn't even film close to her house, always censored her uni or other personal info and even the windows out of her car, but the stalker always found out where she was. she has about 300k subscribers I can't even imagine the dangers of being exposed so easily to 5mill ppl
The worst part about this, genuinely, is that she effectively killed off the Credit the Creators movement the very moment she doxxed him. She's back into uploading daily, while Jack hasn't streamed or uploaded a video since then out of fear for his safety. She successfully intimidated her biggest critic into silence, as well as so many of those smaller creators who were just starting to feel empowered enough to stand up for themselves against freebooters like her. This is just so angering and demoralizing.
The working theory (that I hope is true) is that he’s gone radio silent based on legal counsel, not fear.
And even if Jacksfilms is no longer in a position to carry this torch, hopefully others have been inspired and are able to continue where he’s been obliged to leave off!

Reminder that Christina Grimmie was murdered at a concert by a very mentally sick man. All because she came within the distance this person required to do what he did. All it takes is one sick person to realize they were close enough to do something. And sssniperwolf blasted this to tons of people. 5:36 In that vid, Lia says, "Hopefully he comes out and gets his ice cream." Erin, on stream, said something to the extent of, "Wait was that who sent us food?" They did not order food. There is no reason that Lia should've been able to know what was in the bag.
Meaning it was a mis-delivery or Lia sent it. And, seeing that she apparently knew what was in it, means that she probably sent the food. It could've been an attempt to lure Jack out of the house. Lia's sister also claims that they were there to fight. So like, however you paint the situation, there is no way Lia and her sister come out of it looking good.

As of about an hour ago, SSSniperwolf has been dealt a “temporary monetization suspension” per TeamTH-cam’s twitter. They also said that “the behavior of both creators isn’t what we want on YT.”
What exactly does that even mean in this context?? One of them has put the other in clear danger and the other has made critical videos. Those two actions are nothing alike. TH-cam’s response is just so… deflating. I hope that everyone stays safe and things don’t escalate.

ppl online can find out creators addresses over MUCH LESS. there was a case where a fan found a jpop idols location based on a selfie and seeing the scenery reflected in her eyes & how the layout of her house and windows looked when she took pics INSIDE HER HOUSE. he assaulted her. imagine how much easier it would be to find someone when u see their ENTIRE FUCKING HOUSE POSTED. its so scary i hope jacksfilms and his family stays safe, what sssniperwolf did is disgusting

So this happened about a week and a half or two weeks after jack posted a video saying that they (creators who are getting their videos stolen) were winning. They had set up a sort of system where people could find the og creator and notify them of the stolen content, and the og creator could submit a takedown request. And these og creators were doing it and sssniperwolf had to re edit a lot of her videos.
Jack does a much better job of explaining it and has specific examples, watch his video, but i believe this whole doxxing situation was in retaliation to having to re edit her content and making it harder on her
Because doxxing is illegal in Jack’s area, I really hope she gets charged- that will force their hand as they do follow through on removing charged individuals (see Ruby Franke as the most recent example).

They definitely struck a deal behind the scenes, I just know it. It's like a parent telling a kid "If you say sorry then you'll only be grounded for a day instead of a week"
She wasn’t even responsible for all of her gaming content… her ex-husband is in a legal battle (mainly because she isn’t giving him his money since he owns 50% of her media company), and he has revealed that at least some, if not most/all, of her gaming content was footage that he recorded of him playing the games and her just commentating over it, pretending that she was playing. I don’t think all of her gaming content was fake, I’m sure she can actually play, but just the fact that SOME of it was fake, and she’s not paying/crediting her (now ex) husband just shows how much she hates/refuses to credit people.
The way TH-cam has done nothing but turn a blind eye to defend and protect her is fcking disgusting. She deserves to be deplatformed for this. A temporary removal from the partners program is pathetic, not even close to a appropriate consequence.

The conditions they’re dealing with are actively biased toward larger creators (even when some of the largest creators have been advocating for fairness for years) and there’s 0 communication between the platform and creators. Even large TH-camrs with millions of subscribers who *should* have a contact at TH-cam have to use Twitter to get their issues just *seen* at the best of times. It’s honestly horrible.
THANKS FOR TALKING ABOUT THIS! This is so important, it could set a precedent and a message. TH-cam can't keep ignoring this. This is insane. I've argued with a worrying amount of people online that think she was justified and that Jack was harassing her to the point of some person saying he "doxxed her first". He then went after her again when TH-cam posted a tweet making her the posterboy for "creativity" "how does she get her ideas?" And no matter what the reasoning, all he did was make videos pointing out how lazy her videos are and that she not only steals the videos, but jokes and comments. She posted his house and basically threatened him (look at her sisters tweets they were not there to just talk). No matter whether you think his criticism was valid or if he was going too hard, she went to his house. That's it. That's not ok.

@@yeah_no_thanks If you know where and what to look for, yes, you can find anyone's address online. Doing this significantly lowers the barrier to entry in finding him though. There's a difference between the necessary research and google results to find someone and just seeing a photo of their house and being told they're 5 minutes away from somewhere else easy to find. This also gives incentive to look for him, it's practically a call to action from her.

Glad you’re starting there with the amount of people defending her because Jacksfilms was “harassing” her by making videos, even if they are likely just her followers. They need to keep hearing how wrong this is.

I would just like to point out QTCCinderella reacting to a video about her event is very different from SSSniperwolf “reacting” to a compilation of random, uncredited TikToks. Reaction content exists on a spectrum and there is some value in the creator of an event showing herself reacting to feedback that she can use, vs. non-transformative content where a girl goes “bro what?” for 8 minutes to get midroll ads.

I think a lot of people are talking about this honestly which makes youtubes non response all the more stomach churning. They are sending the message that if you make them enough money its a free pass to do whatever you want with no consequence. It sets a dangerous precedent and will just encourage more bad behvior worse than what we've seen so far.

Nah, you should absolutely be on your guard about Alina as well, considering she likely owns firearms and has armed robbery and assault of a security guard that caught her shoplifting in her criminal records. Apart from the actual documented violent crimes, she also has a long history of harrassing and bullying other content creators(women in particular) on this platform before she cleaned her act up(which I assure you, is likely just optics. For anyone doubting if that image would be enough information to narrow down a location I'd look up a Tom Scott video from a few years ago called something like 'you sucessfully stalked us - don't do it again' They had travelled toa random field in the US to watch an eclipse and challenged viewers to find the location. 10 people were within 1km the nearest 8 were within 30m, and it was litterally a field in the middle of nowhere that they managed to find. It's truely nuts how careful people have to be to prevent identifying information geting out, what Sssniperwolf did was beyond unacceptable.
Right. There was a creator i used to watch. In the 2 years I watched, he, and his family, had to move 3 times because of stalking. He had 3 teenage kids and was worried about someone going to their school. He had to give up beloved pets to move into a gated and patrolled community. The type of pet he had wasn't allowed.
All I could think about when this was happening is Meg Turney and Gavin Free from a couple years ago. A megafan found their address and showed up with a shotgun trying to break in. These situations happen! Sssniperwolf has been downplaying Jack's fame, but he's one of the oldest creators on the platform. he definitely has megafans that would go to extremes to meet him. She should know better.

I’m not currently making content but I would like to start, and one of the things that makes me nervous is I’m a trans woman which means there are definitely safety concerns (for example I probably would not show my face and would create a new “brand” separate from the usernames I use on a lot of places). You’re like super knowledgeable so any advice you have would be helpful and fascinating!! It would be really appreciated.

She's innocent in the eyes of the law, but when someone like that says they're outside my house, and I dunno them or the full truth of their record, or who they have with them? But the fact the instagram is also doing nothing about the situation is shocking. There’s also far worse ones of young teens who are clearly “excited” and she continues to antagonize his “excitement”. So… I think it’s safe to say, that she falls into that category as well.
I'm so with you, Amanda! I've been following this closely and still would have never expected these turns. And it just keeps getting more disappointing. People need to understand doxxing isn't dangerous just because your address is out there now. Like has been said, you could probably find someone's address without someone posting it on social media. The things with doxxing is that no matter if the post gets deleted, no matter if the post doesn't contain exact coordinates, no matter if it's vague enough for you to have to work for it to use that info to locate someone - before anything else, thousands of eyes have now been brought to be interested about the revealed information. People will find the deleted posts if they want to, someone will probably be shitty enough to then share additional information for others to find the exact location easier. Doxxing is dangerous because you are - whether you intented or not - mobilizing a bunch of crazy people on your behalf. Saying "I don't even know how to dox someone" like Lia did, is so increbibly ignorant. You don't need to know practically anything to realize it's objectively wrong to direct your following's focus on someone's location. I don't doubt for a second she knew exactly what she was doing. No matter the intention, you are now morally responsible for anybody inspired by your actions to do the same and in the worst case go beyond that. Whether you wanted or not, having a platform of any notable size, which in her case is a bit more than that, there will be people willing to fight for you, to defend you. You simply don't need to ask for it for it to be implied. Acting as if you don't have to pay special attention to what your actions make people do on your behalf means you shouldn't have a platform with a notable following. Someone like that clearly can'ät handle the responsibility, not to mention being willing to use it against your critics.
I'm not saying creators are directly responsible for all actions of their following, obviously. I'm saying it shouldn't be too much to ask to take one's influence on their following into close consideration in things like this, where that influence can cause harm for someone due to your actions. That's exactly why it holds value for a lot of responsible commentary creators to remind people that they do not condone harrassment on their behalf. You do affect the kind of attitude you want to have around your content.
TH-cam's response was a slap on the wrist. Absolute new low to hesitate to act only to then come op with a "both sides" argument. This platform needs to be owned by creators. They do not care.

I have been a youtube user since 2007, and in that time there have been so many instances of a creator doing something shitty or dangerous and every single time TH-cam's reaction is the same. They tweet about how they won't tolerate violations of their tos/policy, and then do nothing. People have to fight to get the offending creator demonitized/deplatformed. TH-cam doesn't care about its users, and I don't think it ever will.
TH-cam replied to Jacksfilms on Twitter saying she got a TEMPORARY monetization suspension. And said "Hoping everyone helps move this convo to a better place." 😀 They literally just gave her a slap on the wrist
Yet they will remove channels or demonetize them when people have done much less. Sad

It's also terrifying that she alleges, after showing up to his home and posting it, that he was harassing her, in DMs and whatnot. Like, if that was true, why did you not report him, block him, make your own videos about it with those messages? If this was really about more than him criticizing her decision to credit people and such, then what made the smart decision showing up to his house in person? If you were scared of him and his audience why would you do that? It sounds like someone who is backtracking because they're being called out. But she's not proving anything about him by taking that kind of action.
