As well they should tbh....it only makes sense chronologically....its an evolving story arc that will continue til he stops making music
The older man's part would be the nate of the future which connects with Let you Down. The fact that he investigates the balloons of that man is as if he had been asking in a vision of the future if he would still have the balloons the burdens in his life, if after a long time he would not be well.
In the end my theory is that the hand is not God, first because the guy who made that hand made a video where he talked about the selection of who would be the hand in the end, he said that nate left looking at everyone's hands looking for the "right hand", he finds the right one, why would nate have all the care and concern to choose a right hand just to mean being God ?. It could be any hand. My theory connects with the songs Nate, Let me down, Lost in the moment, Remember this, and Let me Go.Because if you notice that the final hand looks a lot like a nate's hand, then I think that’s why he had to look for "The right hand", so The hand would actually be that of Nate Himself (he in white) who would be him from the future or a part " good "(hopeful) that always existed inside him, as in the song Lost in the moment when something or someone says that he should improve and not only talk about his problems but try to solve them. So that hand would be Nate, which means that he slowly removes his balloons, there is a good part inside him that is helping him overcome and remove those balloons, but he is afraid to get rid of them, because at the same time that he wants to get rid of he loves this negativity as he says in the song My Stress. And the people in white there would be the fans who see in nate (, in his music) that good part that makes them better that makes them leave their balloons. So it would be a nate of the future (in a good, healthy state of mind) that would be the hope of this current nate. So he himself would be his hope, to seek help, to help himself, whatever comes to mind Therapy Session, he becomes his therapist, his music, and he becomes the fans' therapist. Then see that little by little his balloons are decreasing, which means that he is taking these burdens off himself gradually and by helping himself he ends up helping his fans to get rid of the burdens too. When you listen to Nate you will understand a little about this logic of Nate of the present for the future and for the past. In nate the logic of the current Nate is presented, being the comfort and hope of the child nate, but the question is, who will be the comfort and hope of the present nate? Nate himself, but he from the future, a well, healthy and happy nate.

Wayne Smith I respect you equally. Check it out. Because the fans would go to Nate and not to God. Why do I ask you what is the relationship between Nate and Fans? He (and music) are our therapy, and what do you do in therapy? You solve problems, bring solutions, get rid of traumas and etc ... For me it makes perfect sense because this has always been Nate's focus. When he tried to make his music a therapy for himself he did it for the fans too.
I do not believe that it is not God, for some facts, first that there are no parts in any song from The search that leads to believe that it is God, according to nate as a Christian I believe that I would not have this image of God, a God who hides between "walls" that do not show his supposed "face", I believe that the nate if it were to refer to God would not have this image of Him.
Look at the song Nate: "I'm sure you have a lot of questions

I'll be here for you if things get worse "Here if you see that the Present Nate refers to a support, a hope for the child nate (past) Why? There is a 3 person in this song, a person who proves to be the "good" part of nate, who tries to help him, but he rejects that help, because automatically accepting this help he would have to love himself, but he hates until now.
Trauma: "It's my fault, I know I'm selfish

It wants love, but I reject it
Trade my joy for my protection "
In trauma he also talks about wanting love but prescribed it, for exchanging the feeling of protection for joy, which comes to mind precisely the song Lost in the moment.
Remember this (Here the figure in white would be Happiness or joy, as theory tells me it would be either the nate of the future or the personification of Hope / joy): "Happiness saw it happen, maybe that's why she up and left
Joy called me a cheater, said she ain't coming back ". Which also connects with Lost in the moment where that part that tries to help nate says he’s tired of seeing nate talking about his problems and didn’t try to solve it them.

Nate speaks in The search that he is looking for the map of hope where he seeks freedom, that is, he is looking for hope to achieve freedom, and he finds hope by looking inside himself and seeing this image, this future vision of a good, healthy Nate who managed to get rid of the balloons so he tries to be that nate of that vision and slowly starts to get rid of the balloons by himself.

It does not make sense at first to say that the figure in white would be himself and in the other being the representation of God. I had my doubts about my theory, but when I saw this part of Paid my due I see that this theory makes more sense. But of course I don't take it as an absolute truth, as nate doesn't do many interviews to say the meaning of the songs and clips, the only proof we have is the songs. And there in the comment that I answered I put the songs that connect and that make sense ...
Greg Cox As I spoke with the other guy, the hand that takes the Album the search from the toilet is the same as the character that appears at the beginning of the song: "It's confusing, so amusing how I argue WITH MYSELF - hello!"
In the beginning he already proves that the character in white is himself or an embodiment of something (as he did with Fear). And that situation. We know that nate has anxiety too, and there has always been this duality within nate. That Nate who threw the Search Album in the toilet and as if he were saying that there is a part of him that due to the criticism and such that the album is not enough that it is not good, but this "good" part that it exists inside it takes the album out of the toilet saying that no, that album is "perfect" that deserves to be heard because he went through a lot and throwing such a piece of art out, it doesn't work. So it would be a "war" that there was always a bad part within him, among himself, a bad part (in which Fear assumed this place for a long time) and a good part (which can be Himself, or a personification of Hope / happiness).
I think it’s more like he’s turning his burdens over to God and putting them on Gods shoulders. It’s him trusting in that. Great reaction by the way!
So this video was filmed in Louisiana over 12 hours in temps over 100. Those are all fans in his videos. I know a few people who were in the video. Nate said those in white represent people in different stages of their lives learning to give up their burdens. The guy in the cart towards the end i think represents him as an older man if he doesn't let his burdens go. I agree bout the verse at the end! I know all the words but my brain can't get them out of my mouth fast enough. Talk about God using weakness for strength. I truly believe his OCD which can be considered a weakness in the world's eye God is using yo allow him to have such complex thoughts and ability to express them in a way thst the world can digest tjem and be impacted by them. The way his brain works is so incredible.

As a Christian (since Nate regularly acknowledges his Christianity) I see it as his journey of Sanctification. The people in white are the people who have found relief from their burdens. In Matthew 11, Jesus asks us to cast our burdens on Him and take up His burden, because His burden is easy and light.
The people in black are the people who are still living under the weight of their burdens and see no hope.
As the video ends, you see Nate wanting to give up some(very few) of his burdens, but he’s scared of what he is like without them (outro)

Fun fact: this music video was filmed in an abandoned six flags in New Orleans I believe! And all the people in the video are Nate’s real fans!! How cool!!!
And the booths represent that people that are clean and that aren't depressed or struggling with things, still show that they are able to obtain burdens, depression to put on a fake smile.
Its symbolic of a mental hospital, people are getting help but still have burdens they deal with.

Great video guys! I just wanted to explain “Fame” in the cart. Fame is another one of an NF’s burdens. He wants to be a rapper because it’s his passion and outlet but he doesn’t want the attention and pressure that comes with it. When he said fame said “this song sucks” those are his doubts again. He’s a perfectionist on an OCD level. It’s a constant struggle questioning every thought and everything he does. “I question my life again always avoiding I hate to be different but I hate to be normal so I, hold up my balloons and cover up my face. I can feel them weighing on me every day.” But he won’t let the balloons go because he can’t. They are things from his past that have shaped his life. Burdens or not. Like he says in the song NATE, “were all products of the things that we experience” I learned a lot about his music from that song and Leave Me Alone. He’s lost cuz he can’t let go. He just hangs out in limbo.
I really appreciate the fact you took the time to take your friend through this explaining in the beginning of the journey but now she's starting to understand things

I have been listening to NF for a very long time and I love him
. when he says "once I finally did he said this song sucks" he's talking about the reviews and critics because even though he was number 1 out of 200 on a billboard he still got bad reviews.
Well done ladies!!!!!!! This was so much fun to watch. The both of you caught a lot of things that are key. The older guy represents NF if he continues down the path he is going down without dealing with his burdens. NF foreseen himself doing this song when he did No Name- he mentions fame in that song and told us he will get back to in the search which took him about 2 years to make-mention this in the song the search. Anyways, fame asked him how he is doing? NF sent him this song which is interesting. Even people who have found their way have burdens-nobody perfect. The ending was my favorite part because its symbolic- he is handing his burdens to God because he knows that God will take care of him because sometimes are burdens get too heavy to carry by ourselves. I will not spoil this album for you but remember that hand off to God as you listen to the album. The next song changes is my favorite song on this album but NF also told us to listen to this song in the search... dude is a genius. Cannot wait for you two to react to the rest of the album and make sure you put on your seatbelts because its going to be one heck of a ride.
About the smile, I think it's more of, that he didn't know you could take it off so when he sees it being wiped off of other people, it's like hes shocked that, that happened and tried to do the same.
OK, Great song! This song is about mental health. He is talking about how burdensome his OCD is and I think the white outfits might represent how he thinks others are but in reality we all have issues and that is why they are changing clothes and wiping off fake smiles. But as far as when Fame called, I see it in the context of his mental health. He expected that by this album the Search, he would be accepted and even though he doesn't really care it is about respect. So he released some songs, but the critics still killed him. And again he kicks into how he deals with that in his thought life. Anyways, very deep. Great reactions!
I really want to tell him, that even though through his moments album he wanted to rap as a "Christian" artist, but I believe God told him to go ahead and rap the way he has because, God will reach more people through NFs pain, than NF could with his "Christian rap".
The part about fame. From the reactions I've seen, people have come to 2 conclusions. The fame is his father or that the fame is the way the media portrays him.

You guys are killing it! Are you from Michigan by chance, I saw the Wolverines sweatshirt? Also, I kinda feel like the older guy in the cart is the industry, NF gets back in his cart for a second to squeeze into the industry's mold when he's feeling insecure about actually just being himself and making real music. And at the end I think it's a sign to the struggle it is in his relationship with God to truly trust Him all the way with his toxic behaviors/burdens that have come from his childhood wounds.

It is Gods hand. He’s a Christian. Part of being a Christian is handing over our burdens to God. As a Christian it’s not easy to give up all of them so this song resonates with me really well. Also my guess for him wearing black and most wearing white is shedding light on the fact that he doesn’t hide being broken as a human like most Christians do once their saved.
