Carmel is a beautiful city. This is worth checking out as well especially the downtown area. My dad once did a business trip here. Still though it would be lovely to revisit again
Beautiful tree lined streets, very nice city. Seems like its one of those cities you want to visit.
This looks like a well-to-do suburb of Indianapolis. Nice and clean w. lots of trees. Median homes valued at about $600T I guess.
$580k right now
Beautiful city . Reminds me of chicagos wealthy suburbs, really enjoy your videos. I live in Illinois and have watched all Illinois videos . Thanks for showing different areas of the state , 👍 💯
👍👍👍❤❤
Fun fact: Carmel, Indiana has more roundabouts than any city in the WORLD - not just the U.S.
You should've stayed on Main Street to the Village Of West Clay area
That is a lot of runabouts. I'm surprised the city still has traffic lights in places.
I beleive there is only like 5 or so left in Carmel.
The one at Rangeline and Main St (12:30 of the video) will eventually be the only one left in the city when they're finished with the conversions, and that is because it was the first traffic light in the entire state of Indiana. It's only remaining because of its place in history.
The city will not be eliminating the Michigan Road lights. There are four of those. The state maintains them. They are at 96th, 99th, Retail Way and 106th. Maybe the state can eliminate the 99th and Retail Way? Also, Main Street/Rangeline intersection now has buildings on all 4 sides that would be VERY expensive to buy and demolish.
@@GoofballFlyerare u sure because I also heard what he said that their plan was only to leave the one that was the first stoplight
Nitpicking, but I don't think the city is counting the Michigan Road stoplights in SW Clay Township. That's a state-maintained highway and not the city's responsibility, but those lights are inside Carmel city limits. Some might think that remaining 146th St. stoplights should count, but I think those are technically in Westfield. The city boundary is generally the south side of an easr-west street. I remember when the 96 St. roundabouts on the east side car dealer area went in the city had to get permission from Indianapolis to get ROW for the required land south of 96th.
Mileage Mike Travels, just curious when will mileage driving in Ohio, mainly Akron, Cuyahoga Falls, Cleveland, Canton, & Stow etc.? Just curious no rush though. Let me know. Thanks.
I love the cleveland area it is my favorite metro in the midwest

@@elid9341 i m from Europe but i never seen so beautiful place like this is fantastic man
So boring. No people walking
Usually its PACKED with people walking especially by the monon. It was likely just really cold this day or something cuz it was november but in the summer and during the Christkindlmarkt it gets really busy and is fun
Judging by the long shadows from the east and the lack of significant vehicular traffic, I venture to guess it was a Saturday or Sunday morning and it was just a tad bit early for pedestrians to be out and about. Like the other poster said it's usually quite busy with people. I live just east of Carmel in Fishers and my wife and I often go to Carmel for entertainment, dining, etc. because it has such a walkable downtown.
This is an unpopular stance but I HATE round-a-bouts.
I understand how you feel. Most people don't know how to yield.
I don’t hate roundabouts, its the drivers; most don’t know how to yield in one.
@@w-josh: As was stated above, it's the drivers who are the issue as they just sit there at a yield sign trying to figure it out, causing traffic backups, horn honking and tempers flaring.
@@dave6695 if you have the yield you are 100 per cent at fault pulling into the traffic circle in front of another vehicle already in the circle that might hit you... usually that other vehicle is going well over the posted speed limit most of the time
Seemed to work well in this video. Keeps traffic moving. Constantly have to stop with traffic lights.
The more you have of them, the easier it is to get used to them.
