      Wow, I take it your not vegan you seem kind of cruel. Please don't spread your hatred here it's not appreciated and your speaking with out having any knowledge about anything. And fyi your hero isn't vegan and I don't appreciate you promoting her on my channel.

      @@LifeForceUnleashed If you give credit to those that help you along the way you probably won't find so much opposition. And I came to my conclusions by observing how you attack Connie in this comment section. If I remember right, attacking someone's character is cruel. But I'm the cruel one, okay then.

      First I'd like to thank you for the return comment, I truly respect that!!! To directly answer you I did not get the recipe from her this is a very common recipe in the vegan culinary repertoire and if you watch my new year's video I address this issue also anytime that I've ever gotten any inspiration or even an idea from any other creator I have always given credit. As far as any other comment I may have made saying anything about her it was because I put in many hours and my money to create that video without receiving one cent and had to deal with a lot of hate coming from the people from her channel you get to watch it for free why not be supportive instead of judgemental if you don't like a video from another creator don't be mean or jump to conclusions. I personally can't support that other channel as the person is receiving money to make videos that pander to vegans but uses that money to purchase products that support cruelty to animals. As a vegan I don't support that. I truly do hope you have a wonderful day and it was nice meeting you!

    I made this and my husband loved it I was surprised my mother liked it she said "it was good and it really looked and tasted like corn beef. I switched up the recipe a little I used 1 1/2 cups of vital wheat gluten and 1 1/2 cups of chickpea flour and I simmered it for one hr. without wrapping it. Then seared it on both sides it was so tender and moist it was also very big it lasted all week my husband liked it so much he took it to work for lunch just about everyday. I will definitely make this again especially when I have a dinner.

    It helps if you whisk the dry ingredients together to get a good even mix. And you often want to mix all of your liquid ingredients together before you add them to the dry. Not always, there are rare exceptions, but usually.

      Hey Steelbin2 thanks for reaching out! I completely understand where your coming from with regards to how it tasted and weather or not it would be worth the effort. I didn't realize I had left that part out. I think it was because I went on to make the Ruben sandwich video using that exact roast, lol You certainly are free to look through the comment section to see what others have posted, I do know this recipe has become a holiday tradition for many who have made it. Biggest question you probly have, is it worth making it and my answer is , Yep it sure is, the flavors and texture are incredible. I believe you will be pleasantly please with the end product. There have been Thousands of people who have tried it and I welcome all feedback good or bad so others can decide if it would be worth there time. I believe there was only 1 person that said it didn't turn out and that was because they used chickpea flower as a substitute for something I don't remember exactly what happened but I know its in the comment section. The end product in my opinion is definitely worth it and if you do give this recipe a try if you wouldn't mind coming back and sharing your experience in making it and what your personal opinion is it would be much appreciated. People rarely come up with recipes out of thin air and whole cloth. Most recipes are purposely, consciously, and sometimes subconsciously, and even unknowingly, based on others, with this or that changed, removed, added, or simply "inspired by", etc. (ingredients and process) It is a LONG standing argument as to what constitutes "borrowing" and "stealing" and when to give credit, etc., when it comes to recipes. Like most things, one way or another, we all stand on the shoulders of giants. I've watched SO MANY cooking shows over the years, usually by well-known (genius) chefs and the like, that I have a lot of knowledge and information in my memory that I may think about or incorporate, and I have no idea where that came from. That is very typical. (and not just with recipes)

    • @paulgee4336
      @paulgee4336 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      You are making WAY TOO MANY ASSumptions that are NOT based in fact. Connie's Rawsome Kitchen is NOT the only one who makes recipes like this. Your "argument" is specious, at best. And way too false at its foundation to take seriously.

      NitanaLo Connie copies a lot of people and gives them NO credit, all us home chiefs borrow snippets and add our own twist... nobody owns Nature except Mother Nature herself. She’s my idol as is God not some little women who plays martyr in search of her fan club, that she lives for like any narcissist does. She never showed herself she hides behind her camera and boasts fasting and labels herself Connies Raw some but does not make raw foods?? And often denies eating the very food she makes?, but wants her fans ( who she fuels off of) to defend and fight for her, be clear things are not what they seem, a talent but not the only one for sure.

    • @LifeForceUnleashed
      @LifeForceUnleashed  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Michael, that is a great question and the answer is absolutely, that actually would make a very delicious combination and the beer would give the seitan an even better texture and flavor pending on the beer. A supper dark beer would give the flavor a little bit of a bitter flavor although with all the spices in this recipe I think it would be fine. Please let me know if you try it like that I would be very interested in knowing the end results (Flavor), heck I may even give your idea a try. Thanks for the comment and good luck this is a incredibly delicious recipe. Have a great day!!!👍🍻🙂

      BeckoffShow nobody steels except maybe Connie. The Chinese in the 12th century Tang Dynasty invented working with vital gluten you ignoramus , creating recipes is all about studying and sharing technique , adding your own slant and make I gotta it your own no different for writers, artist, science. Food is personal and part of getting good is researching and studying base recipes, improving it to suit your personal tastes and now owning a new and improved version. Connie hides behind her camera, she acts so self sacrificing and is a true martyr who plays the perfect slave in the kitchen protecting her flick(another covert narcissist needing desperately a fan club) she is among thousand of vegans who work with vital glutin) I have been doing this since I discovered it in 1980! And my body reflects it as I look 20 years younger. Donny is good and it’s a pity she doesn’t even claim what she does well. Right in front of her fans eyes by example she insists on calling her platform Connies RAWsome but she doesn’t DO RAW food! She doesn’t know the first thing about being a raw chief, which she only does an occasional salad! Where is the sprouting and dehydrating which is the true foundation of raw food! She claims to be soooo self sacrificing, claiming to always be on a fast... but never shows herself. Fasting is amazing and I am amazed at how it makes me look be it 3,7, or 10 days where she should be proud to show all the before and after which she NEVER does. Proof she lies! And all layers sneak! So truth is she is taking from others ideas too, nothing wrong with that, that is the foundation of creating: designers take snippets of ideas, it is what fashion is based on, you must need a stay home mommy really bad! Time to grow up and do your homework, we can thank the Chinese for the foundation of these fake meats! What a pathetic ignorant comment!,,

      @@thegirlwhospeaks236 Connie has videos and progression videos of herself on juice and water fasts. She also has several raw video recipes...even a few with her dehydrator. She has videos of fermatation and sprouting to make rejuvelac, cheeze, kimchi, etc etc etc.(thats who I learned from.) You don't have one single photo or video of you on your page...you're claiming to look so much better...why's that? I have read several of your ignorant comments about Connie and about other people (even one about someone asking about a gluten free version of this cause they have celiac) and you seem to get super defensive and almost mean. Who hurt you? So, instead of fighting about who's food is better or who is this or who is that...maybe you could just watch the video, congratuate this gentleman for making a delicious alternative (no matter where the recipe came from) and helping people go vegan or plant based. Both Connie and this kind man deserve more than that, I think. Have a wonderful day.

      Malekatah Campbell most have issues with Mold that can easily developed quickly if not really fresh,
      But that includes all berries as a main culprit also a food that often takes the rap! Peanut butter one of the most toxic toxin, called Aflatoxin... loaded with mold spores as those little microbiomes love too!
      Which is WHY it is highly advised not to let ANY of your nut betters sit in a cabinet instead of the fridge as we ALL want to deny what we can’t yet see...and that is why too many Think they are allergic to x,y,z when in fact it is little culprit Mold that causes multiple digestive systems and candidates issues and sadly people are looking in the wrong place. I used to speak on all this stuff as a healthy eating writer and speaker.
      But truthfully what makes mushrooms shine is what is called “Umami” the 5th most sought after all good chiefs are after. Meat has it which is why they fear giving it up... but Mushrooms have it! And I personally feel truly sorry for the ignorant who just can’t expand their views, fir those types I am truly sad for :) whatever your reasons good luck,

      Thank you Carrie for your comment, you bring up a very important question!!! All the foods that we eat have a texture and flavor profile and when we make any food especially vegan, it's about trying to mimic both of them if thats what your tying to replicate, If it's the flavor your yearning for, It's not the meat we like it's the flavor we enjoy. The spices and seasonings used to make this recipe are used to bring about the flavor profile of a corn beef brisket. Now to answer your question this recipe is made with vital wheat gluten which does have it's own flavor but all the spices and seasoning help add the flavors of corn beef, It's not exact but it's very close and extremely delicious!!!
