You can't imagine how this video and David's explanations have changed my whole routine and my understanding...! Videos like this are really a gift! And again... Stu, you are a brilliant interviewer!
Stu really is a brilliant interviewer. I like that man's calm and serene approach! :) Loved the interview and it will help me too! Thanks again Stu for such a great interview!
Hey ninja nic. I know your commented on this 7 whole years ago but if you get a notification, could you PLEASE tell me how you are doing with the float today? I live in a remote area, there are no studios where I live, I am practising alone with the help of YT videos and I have to say, I have learned a lot. Of course, it doesn´t beat having a teacher by your side, but I do what I can. I would like to float, I know it takes time, months and maybe even years but I am determined that I will learn it. Have you got any other pointers, any other suggestions or maybe even another video you think would be helpful to me? I am practising a lot with David and Jelena among others, and they have explained a lot to me. Your comment gave me hope and I am just curious to how your practise is going. Hopefully you are still practising and you will reply. Thank you so much. Namaste
Hej HaiHoang. How are your floats going? Are you able to do it now and if so, how long did it take you to achieve and concur if I can use that word? Thank you for your reply, if I get on and Namaste from Sweden
I never really thought about the frustration with not being able to jump back and forward is really about the struggle to stay with the count! Although for me it’s exactly what it is!! Thank you for helping me understand this! I remember when first starting the Ashtanga practice I’d get frustrated with the short count that we had to get all the way to chaturanga Dandasana but I’ve since gotten past that and the necessity to do it perfectly is no longer so important to me. Much love to you both for bringing high quality yoga to all of us❣️
thank you. what great tips. i cant wait to try them out. your explanations have helped me build strength. I hope you do a yoga workshop in Connecticut, USA! gratitude for your teaching.
Thank you so much for putting out these videos! They have bettered my practice and teachings as well as sparked me to continue to keep my mind open and curious about the 'rules' of yoga. - Colorado Yoga Teacher
I started Yoga at 53 and I'm now 55, my goal is to float one day, my right rotator cuff injury from a fall keep side tracking my training, I really need to build up my upper body. I have the flexibility but not the strength, thank you for this tutorial ✨
@@nadines.1107 That´s what I also would like to know. I started recently, being 55 myself but have worked as a professional dancer my whole adult life so I guess I have a bit of an advantage.
I totally need my upper body strength but I got beaten up to much and my back oweee its coming back something out of line men are dif their upper body is like atlas my mat is my Kleenex and my best friend thank you for this lesson
23:28 it’s Adamantium, Stu & Robson... as I know you’re both geeks it breaks my heart to not hear you get the Marvel lore correct 😉 In all seriousness, DR is one of the most influential teachers to me in terms of developing straightforwardness in practice and methods of teaching my fellow practitioners 🙏🏻🤘🏻
Mona Taylor thanks for asking, still trying. Having problems with balance. but I considere Im more than half way now. my body is not very flexible haha. take care.
That´s your opinion, but to me it was really helpful. It´s a shame you had to be so negative. I guess no one can please everyone. Still a shame you had to comment so negative without giving a more constructive criticism. Hope you still got something out of their help. Namaste

As an instructor I will only ask people to step into forward fold, if they float good on them.
Anyone know of a 'time-keeper' that David is talking about? App, track?
This is the one: learntofloat.com/products/learn-to-float-drums-mp3

David is so sweet 💓
He floats at the 34 minute mark.
