That is very cool, Dale! That might be a fun project for young children to try. It doesn't really matter that the grape tomatoes won't grow true to the originals. Whenever I get tomatoes that I don't like, I incorporate them into sauce or salsa. I can't wait to see your Liberation Tulips, as they are one of my favorite flowers. My husband and I attended the annual Tulip Festival in Ottawa several years ago and learned the history of the Liberation of the Netherlands. I really enjoyed the trip through your garden and garden projects.
What a treat to get an early Spring garden video! Thanks for sharing! I have also been transitioning to container planting closer to the house as I get older. Much easier to care for and easier on the body! 😉👍
Lovely to see you are starting the new season in your garden. We hope we can move into our new house this summer, so the garden will have to wait. Looking forward to seing your next video! Hugs from Sweden.
If you decide to plant potatoes in a raised bed you could try some hardware cloth (or something similar) under the cardboard. That might discourage the critters. Looks like another great garden for you, Dale
Looking good. I really need to get myself out there but the weather has been awful, rain and cold... coldest April on record. Maybe great things will be done this month. Best Wishes, Brendan.
Everything looks great. You always have good luck with the containers at the community garden, so I’m looking forward to seeing how they do at your house.
You have been busy! I have planted lettuce, onions, and turnip seeds. In my area the first frost date is supposed to be May 15 but it is supposed to be 87 degrees here tomorrow! I think everything will bolt. Thanks for the update.
Looks like you have some neat experiments started … hope all work out well. I think I heard some white-throated sparrow calls around the 6-7 minute mark? Thanks for the video!
Hi Dale, nice vlog. I'm going to try the pallet planting. Wondering if you've grown squash in pots/containers before and how they do. Tempted to try that as well. Thanks!
I live in Hamilton Ontario I been watching the pioneers first settlers in Hamilton are you a reliative of Sara Calder the first president of the women pioneers. Her painting hang in the museum
Not that I know of but the first Calder to come to Canada was Robert he settled here in the 18th century so I guess it is possible that we are distantly related.
@@redcanoe9810 I love them With just not going to die me and my dog. They are very quiet but let a stranger walk on the property and you know all about it. Lol.
Great video Dale! I enjoyed watching and learned some good things!
Glad it was helpful!

Interesting and lively squirrel on the poarch, Dale.
I have several well fed squirrels.
Very interesting and informative. Enjoy your videos. Thank you for posting.
Glad you like them!
1/4" or 1/2" galvanized "Hardware Cloth" would protect those beds from burrowing nibblers beneath them.
Good idea
Really enjoyed this video. Thank you for posting.
Thank you
A very pleasant video in an increasingly unpleasant world
Thankyou Dale
Thank you

Thanks Brendan We had a lot of rain but the past 10 days or so have been sunny but cool. And joy oh joy the black flies arrived yesterday.

No more chickens?
Right now I have 6 bantam chickens and 5 Guinea fowl but I have ordered 5 seventeen week old pullets which will arrive this summer.
@@DaleCalderCampobello Nice! I really like batams but boy, Guinea fowl sure are noisy!! Have a good summer!
